Thanks for sharing. C&C's must be fast. On another sailing channel they had a race and when the guy was handing out the award for first place he said "on a C&C 32, the handicap we adjusted probably by the biggest amount that we've ever adjusted a handicap, but they still won".
Man I love your videos. You are a real story teller with wonderful wonderful sceneries. I am from Denmark and we have close to zero tide here. Amazing for me to see how you have arranged life around mother nature. I follow quite a number of "sailing channels". Your channel ranks at the top!
Dan Gillis What a pleasure it has been to watch your channel over the past year. You have navigated the coast I have loved all my life. I was raised in Prince Rupert, on 9th Ave West, till I was 9. My Dad's family of 8 kids was also raised there in the 1030's. They survived the '30s in part by scavenging halibut cheeks - then thought to be waste - at the fish plants. The zone adjacent to 9th Ave West that is now a recreation area and golf course used to be my (and my cousin's) personal playground. We would explore and fish in the wild stream that is now a polluted ditch confined by vertical walls. I learned the rest of the coast - including the west coast of Van. Island and the Queen Charlottes, as a student ( 2 years as a tugboat deckhand and two as a navigator/technician on oil exploration boats) - and in my subsequent career as a marine biologist often using my own sailboat - a Vancouver 27. Thank you so much for the video and memories of a coast I promise myself to revisit again one day soon. You understand it well. Cheers, d.
Thanks for another great video. We are venturing your direction soon. Will be leaving Victoria in about a month and hope to get to Glacier Bay with a few stops along the way including Prince Rupert. Maybe we will see you on the docks! Cheers.
It has always been a great pleasure to watch your videos . Please know that some glasses of wine are risen for you from Aegean coast of Turkey. Cheers and may the fair winds be with you.
Awesome vid & a beautiful area. Wondering if you have a blackout patch for the sunroof dodger? Looks great & a grand idea for when you need or want more light.
doubt if i'll ever make it but dodge cove looks like a cool place to visit. ha....the brighter the sun in early morning, the thicker the frost. i bet you don't get a ton of blue sky days like that in one a year there. it sure makes the place look nicer....although there's a lot to be said about the beauty of a wet, dreary day on the west coast. another beautiful production....cheers.
so alfy please let me ask you about the cold temp X gel coat , any cracks on them ? i can go from tropics to canada whit no problem regarding this issue? the water lines must be warmed constantly? thanks mate awesome ep
So glad you enjoyed this episode! I haven't experience any cracking issues related to cold weather in my part of the world so hopefully your boat will be fine as well. :)
cool ! :)
Another good one; fairly obvious why they would have a bright red jetty railing, I reckon you'd have a lot of that up there.

You are welcome and glad you enjoyed it! I am certainly happy with the sailing performance of my C&C. :)

She sure does! So glad you enjoyed it!
You're daughter is flat out adorable. Don't allow her to grow a day older...she's perfect right now.
(Oh yea, good luck with that)
She sure is a great kid and I wish I could keep her from growing up! :)

Always nice to get the sunny days for sure! So glad you enjoyed coming along!
Was that about a 12 to 15 foot tide at the dock? Wow! Thanks for letting us come along with you two.
I think is was about 16ft that day, but we get tides up to 24 ft here so we are used to the big changes! ha So glad you enjoyed coming along with us!
do your ears pop if you stay on the boat through an entire tide swing? :D
Good stuff Alfy. Not too many old growth cedars left. That one has seen a lot of history.
Thanks and glad you enjoyed it. Yes, it is nice to see a giant like this one still standing. :)
Great video,beautiful photography
Thank you so much!
Great vid Alfy, how's your dad doing?
Thank you! He is doing well!
Great your Daughter came to see you, Just wondering what's with that rain? We haven't seen any for months!

Just a suggestion. Don't tow your dinghy with the outboard attached.
I rarely tow it that way, but it was only a 20 min motor from he anchorage to Dodge Cove.
:)
