It is great, but for a first time listen it's better to go with the studio version. That's the most perfect one and exactly how the band wants it to sound.

Firstly, respect for actually listening to your subscribers (it was me who suggested you put a warning about scammers at the start of your videos). As for the reaction, I completely agree with everything you said. I've been a metalhead for around 35 years and yet I've never really bothered listening to Judas Priest, so I'm discovering their music alongside you. I mean, I've heard bits and pieces over the years so I've always known how impressive Rob Halford's vocals are, but I've never really took the time to listen to their songs. I heard bits of Metallica, bits of Sabbath and bits of Led Zepplin in this song, and it's f*****g great!
This song is better than any high,EVERY time you hear this it will get better,it can bring you to tears with the emotions it provokes, sad wings of destiny is a whole album experience too!
1975 Live video of Dreamer Deceiver on BBC is the most incredible song performance live that I've ever seen. It was before their success and they looked exactly how they did during this album. I hope you just watch it asap. Not requesting a reaction video I just think it will move you more than any other Judas Priest live performance. They've always been the best and that BBC performance of Dreamer Deceiver in 1975 is still hard to believe actually happened as perfect as it did with sound quality and visual performance. Great reaction videos. Thank you!
Yes indeed do yourself a favor and watch this. Rob was so young and had long hair. The way he looked, moved and was dressed kinda reminded me of Robert Plant.
This was a killer album back in the day. This was the first Priest album I bought and my introduction to the band. Welcome to the late 1970s to early 1980s.
I could really recommend a live version of this. The one at the 'Unleashed in the east' album is probably the best, but for a reaction video I think the one from US festival 1983 would be prefered.
Priest evolved so much thru the years. This was back in the 70's when they were hard rock. In the 80's they went metal. In the 90's they went heavy metal/thrash. They changed alot thru the years.
Green Manalishi from the live Unleashed in the east is a wicked song. As many bands from the past JP is a perfect example how to evolve and stay in it for 50 years. Another great band that also started in the early 70,s is Saxon....and they still play today. You need to check them out ❤
HUGE kudos to you for doing the studio version first instead of a live performance, like most people seem to request. In my opinion it's almost always best to do studio versions first. That's the one that the band painstakingly produced to sound exactly the way they want it to. In the case of this amazing song (my absolute favorite of theirs) you get the guitars bouncing back and forth in your headphones and the almost psychedelic breakdown part is crystal clear. You don't usually get the perfect version with a live performance. Loving your channel dude, keep it up!!!
It's even better when you actually have the album to play I'm back in the day we didn't have surround sound we had quadraphonic sound and it was analog not digital you can't beat the sound of an album playing❤
I rarely thumbs up a video but your reaction was worth one. Been a Priest Head for over 40 years....Best bans ever! Thank you for the video!!! Subscribed!

Hi I am a brand new subscriber (58 yr. old female). I am so pleased you chose Judas Priest to react to. They are my favorite band and yes, they are metal gods! I urge you to delve into more metal. Pantera's Cemetary Gates is incredible. Iron Maiden is another band to explore if u haven't already. I've been to over 100 concerts and I saw Iron Maiden live for the first time in 2016 and it was stellar! It ranks in my top 5 favorite concerts. Their energy is unbelievable and Bruce Dickinson's voice is still superb. I feel it is the responsibility of the older generation to share the music of our time with the young so they can know what great music was. Im an old metal head/classic rock kinda chick but I also love the early 70's Motown R&B (slow jams), the 80's hair bands and I LOVE Barbra Streisand. I listen to a little country and a little rap as well. I think variety makes a person more well rounded and worldly. Enjoy your new musical experiences. 😊
Please please please 🙏 watch the live version!!!! I’ve seen it live and it’s worth the price of the ticket alone. You won’t be disappointed. This is one of the best tunes ever in my humble opinion!!!! Happy New Year hombre!!! So says Austin Tx. 🥳😎🍸
Now go and check out Priest's Dissident Aggressor... and then consider that song came out in 1977. NOTHING was as heavy as that song in that era. That song blew my mind the first time I heard it!
The version on Unleashed In The East is considered the definitive version. Check out their new stuff too…Panic Attack from their upcoming album or Spectre from their previous.
Don't worry about the doubters, it's obvious in your reaction that you're blown away by this. As any normal person would be. As I've been since I was a kid. Rob Halford is one of a kind. Chills watching you react to what gave me chills when I was your age, and still does to this day.
Painkiller is a rough start to your Judas Priest experience, but their catalog is huge and full of gems. My favorite album is Defenders of the Faith. Screaming for Vengeance is excellent also, as is the live album Unleashed in the East. Thanks for another good video, cheers mate.
The Ripper off this album kicks ass. But, JP really has bangers on every album. Some albums like Screaming for Vengeance are all banger. Congrats on finding the Metal Gods.
Personally, I think that 82 tour was the peak live version of the band. Halford was a beast and all the guys were in their prime. Vengeance was also the last great album for me. Defenders was good, and then the dark period with the comeback that was Painkiller.
I agree but Halford was his peak during Ram It down, he could hit anything. @@johnnylag5517 but Halford is so good, I will take him no matter the age :)
Breaking the law, Living after midnight and You've Got Another Thing Coming are the most well known Judas Priest Songs. Breaking the law has a bad ass riff.
Hell Bent for Leather and Beyond the Realms of Death are great songs - almost everything on Unleashed in the East Live album. Also check out The Ripper.
I've seen Priest in concert a few times and never been disappointed. Rob Halford has an amazing voice. Ignore people who say you are pretending to like all this music you are listening to. If you were pretending you wouldn't be committing so much information to memory. Keep it up MollyBoy, I'm really enjoying this journey with you.
Both Rob Halford and Bruce Dickinson (Iron Maiden) have the same vocal ranges!!! Love both of them singing. This is the only Band I missed out on seeing here in Australia. I couldn't afford to go at the time. Still regret it to this day.
Molly, I have now spent more than 3 hours watching your videos and subscribed after the very first one. You have reviewed some of my favorite songs from my childhood. And then...I came across this. Priest was the soundtrack of my teenage years. Saw them several times in concert and the boys never failed to impress. Of all their tunes, this is THE one. The incredible duo guitars of KK and Downing were a sight to behold. To see them live....never equaled. And then there is Rob...what can you possibly say? The clarity and tone of his voice is pure magic. I was chuckling through the video and thought..."just wait boyo, you have NO idea what is about to punch you right in the face"!! Don't ever let the haters get you down, you keep doing what you are doing! ❤🎸🎙👏
My favourite 'Priest album by far.....they came from the same place as Sabbath,so its likely they rubbed off on each other, also they started out at around the same time,so they are contempories
The thing is, when you listen to 70s Judas Priest and Black Sabbath, you have to remember the state of music at that time. This was the beginning of heavy metal. They were the first. This was the heaviest stuff there was at the time. Metallica, megadeth and all the rest (whom I love) owe EVERYTHING to them. Keep exploring buddy! Love this song btw. Good reaction!!!
I completely agree and was mystified why it took the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame people SO LONG to finally give Priest the respect and recognition they deserve. They were inducted just 2 yes ago. Now they need to come to their senses and induct Iron Maiden. They have been slighted way too long as well.
Judas Priest (when 'Sad Wings was recorded): Rob Halford: vocals Glenn Tipton: guitars, piano, organ K.K. Downing: guitars Ian Hill: bass Alan Moore: Drums
Rob Halford stepped in as a vocalist with Sabbath on a few occasions. In the 70s we didn't have the amount of bands that there are now but they were all top quality😊
Being a musician, songwriter and vocalist myself, I've always been into music. And I've always liked Judas Priest. One of the interesting things I've always thought about Judas Priest is that when this band was formed back in 1969, It was all different members. 4 guys. By the time they were signed to a record label and released their first album in 1974 titled "Rocka Rolla", there wasn't a single original member in the band anymore who formed the band. So, for me, I always thought that the original line up was Bob Halford on lead vocals, Glen Tipton on lead guitar, K.K. Downing on lead guitar, Ian Hill on bass and Dave Holland on drums. Now, Bob, Glen, K.K. and Ian were on the Rocka Rolla album, but none of them were from the original line up when the band was formed in 1969. And they had a few different drummers until Dave Holland joined the band in 1979. And then that line up was the same for 10 years. You had a good reaction to the song.
I agree, this era of music does have real soul. That guitar solo was awesome, and it turned super groovy…beautiful! The only Rock singer I know of today that can sing way up high is Justin Hawkins from The Darkness. He’s in his late 40’s and still sounds phenomenal. Edit: You’re almost to 15K!
A good couple of 'bridging' tracks that demonstrate how Priest went from Sad Wings of Destiny to Painkiller are the opening tracks off their next two albums - 'Sinner' (from Sin After Sin) and 'Exciter' (from Stained Class), these laid the foundation of the future sound of Priest. Both albums are rich with great tunes. After these 2 albums, their sound went in a slightly more commercial direction and they had a few Top 30 Hits which really launched them into the stratosphere of heavy metal history. Personally, I think these 2 tracks are essential listening to understand Priest. Then - then, you have to listen to 'Unleashed in the East'. 'Beyond The Realms of Death' is masterful!
Thank you for going back to their early days. They were much more experimental in styles back then. What a real surprise then listen to, "Last Rose Of Summer" or "Here Come The Tears". Lite jazz to blues to heavy sorrow.
I'm sure somebody else has already explained it, but Rob Halford is a classically trained opera singer and is considered by many to be the best metal vocalist ever. This is always been my favorite Priest song and one of my favorite songs overall. One of the highlights of my life and quite possibly my pinnacle concert moment was hearing this song done live when these guys Headlined for Hatebreed and Slayer. Absolutely amazing experience.
Uh, Rob was never formally trrained as a singer in any form. Never, in the dozen books I have on Priest, and his own biographies, has there been a mention of training.
Things I'd like to see you cover, to go on a Ronnie James Dio tour, in this order: Rainbow, 'Stargazer' Black Sabbath, ''Heaven and Hell' Dio, 'Holy Diver'
Anyone else here buy their new jp cassette and unroll the 4 feet of lyrics with who was doing the solo thru every song??? I looked forward to that so much hahaha. Great reaction..your face says everything😁😁😁
Nice pick!! The live version from 1983 is great also. Gives you a better understanding of the genius that is Judas Priest. The next track is the Ripper about Jack the Ripper. Classic
Judas Priests song "Beyond The Realms Of Death" is an incredible song that's just beautiful also.

Saw them at the Palladium in NY in '81 and the live version of this song raised the hair on the back of my neck for its ferocity
Judas Priest (when 'Sad Wings was recorded):
Rob Halford: vocals
Glenn Tipton: guitars, piano, organ
K.K. Downing: guitars
Ian Hill: bass
Alan Moore: Drums
This video would be a first reaction for me also. This is the first on your metal reactions. I never gave a listen to this song previously
Welcome! This is amazing song!
Ozzy was sick at an Oz fest and asked Rob Halford to do his Black Sabbath set.
Really??
@@naomisanderson8223 yep. You could probably find a video on TH-cam
Sorry. That may have been read as sarcastic. Not my intention at all. I should've typed "really, more information please".
This song live is killer.
This was my favorite Priest album
Thank you for going back to their early days. They were much more experimental in styles back then. What a real surprise then listen to, "Last Rose Of Summer" or "Here Come The Tears". Lite jazz to blues to heavy sorrow.
Painkiller should’ve been my theme song when I was a teenager! That’s a great song to hear first!
Rock Hard, Ride Free is one of my favorite Judas Priest songs. You should definitely react to it!
Yes!!! The live version from us festival -83🤘🤘🤘
Your face is a picture when rob hits the high notes 🤣🤘
I’ve been listening to JP for about 30 years, and I still pull the same face
Unleashed in the East. Please God. Someone hear me!!!
Things I'd like to see you cover, to go on a Ronnie James Dio tour, in this order:
Rainbow, 'Stargazer'
Black Sabbath, ''Heaven and Hell'
Dio, 'Holy Diver'
Studio version 1st then the Live .
Killer song, EXCELLENT WAKE N BAKE MASTERPIECE 🎸🎵🎶😎🤘
SMOKE'EM IF YOU GOT'EM 🤫😉
Robs scream is absolutely ridiculous
Anyone else here buy their new jp cassette and unroll the 4 feet of lyrics with who was doing the solo thru every song??? I looked forward to that so much hahaha. Great reaction..your face says everything😁😁😁
Nice pick!! The live version from 1983 is great also. Gives you a better understanding of the genius that is Judas Priest. The next track is the Ripper about Jack the Ripper. Classic
