Wilson has so many solid club selections, there irons and golf balls are so underrated. Thank you Matt for not overlooking such an important brand in the golfing marketplace. Could you test some of Wilson golf balls for content? Cheers!

I have the wilson D9 forged irons, I always struggled with my cobra ltdx irons but since getting these my golf has improved a fair bit, I had zero birdies last year and was strugglibg to break 100, i got my wilson irons in november on a black friday deal and this year I've broke 90 twice already and have 5 birdies on the board already, been playing my best golf since changing my irons.

Well the D9 Forged are definitely not SGI irons though.

@@FISHGEEK007 didn't say they was, I struggled with the strong lofted LTDX irons, although the D9 forged are strong lofted they are nothing like the ltdx irons, I just find the D9 forged irons easier to get the ball in the air and get a faster ball speed and actually hit them further then the Ltdx irons I had and the ball actually stops on the green with my D9 forged irons, they've work amazing for me and have definitely improved my game drastically.

    Hi Matt
I'm a twenty handicap using the old Nike Slingshot, I got abused for them being illegal as they are pre 2010.
I purchased the Dynapower off this review. Thank you so much for your testing and review.
3 weeks later I've dropped 2 shots and absolutely loving my game.
    Cheers Matt loving my golf.
And also now using the triad ball.
If your ever in Melbourne mate, I owe you.

Wilson clubs are underrated, who cares about how they look when you're enjoying your golf more? I use Wilson launchpad irons and they're ugly as hell, but I've played my best golf ever in years.

Bingo!!!! Ego aside and improving your experience for it!! The bottom line should be the bottom line!! Iam a 9 hdcp and needed a little more so I hit Cobra Rad Speed irons (hate the name) in 4-6 iron and then Ping I210s 7-PW and its helped me massively and I don't care what anyone thinks

@davewylie654 It's funny because my mates who I play with will often ask to use a certain club of mine instead of their thousand pound plus irons 🤣. One friend has added 4 and a 5 hybrid iron in his bag now.

I use the Cleveland hi bore turbos, I couldn't care less how a club looks (maybe because I'm so ugly myself) I play off official handicap of 5 and only care how they perform which is brilliantly. I have no hesitation in recommending Hi bores to any level of golfer besides maybe scratch and pros.

I play the D7 Forged, again their great clubs, in my opinion and probably because of my age, I've always thought of Wilson staff as one of the so called big brands, I started playing golf at 12 in 1984, Wilson were the club's all the scratch handicaps were playing at that time, one of the guys in my normal Sunday group had the staff goose necks, they were things of beauty

  • @jerry2445

Got them 5-GW MCA Tensei Silver Graphite - very good, superb value for money.
    Wilson AI Fit works....
I think they look very good, some might say too glossy but I like the overall look.
Game improvement irons yes, but don't shout beginner clubs?
Great Feel especially with Tensei Shafts.
    Very good build quality.
Launch lower in the 5-7 and took some getting used to, but now overall superb.
5 Iron is 21° like an old school 3 iron but the length of a 4 iron?! but works. All Clubs 1 to 1.5 longer.
Caused some issues with gapping in the wedges...
£699 all in les than £100 per club in Graphite too!
That good I invested in the 4 Hybrid!

Looks like Wilson did a good job on feel and blade length, not too lumpy, but the offset is killing me. Also, loft wise I would have to go 6-GW because they are lofted so strongly. Good value for money that's for sure.

Wilson makes great stuff but iam going to argue your assessment that they look less "clunky" maybe at address but those jumbo wide soles when in the bag are definitely "clunky". My buddy plays a set of G410s and they look great in the bag and out of it. I love Wilson stuff but i hit those next to G430s , Taylormade QI10s and the Cobra Darkspeed GIs and to me they were not as pleasing numbers wise or looks wise although i love the shiny "chrome" look. I actually had the Mizuno 921 Hot Metals as the best of the GI irons out now

My first clubs were Ping Zing 2 so you know that looks aren’t high on my list of attributes a club must have. 😂 In fact, I wish club reviews saved comments about looks until after discussing performance. Maybe because I didn’t grow up as a country clubber (started to play when I was 40), I have no preconceptions about how clubs (or balls) should look - all I care about is how well it works.

Absolutely agree with you all the way. These are exceptional clubs, and Wilson has just released a new 2024 Dynapower FORGED set. They look simply incredible, could we see a video of you testing them against some of the other Forged sets that are significantly more money? Wilson does not get the credit that they deserve, they are good as anything else out there…. And in some cases maybe, better. Thank you for doing this review.
