I don't see how any ACC team could leave the league with essentially an iron-clad grant of media rights; that limits the SEC from expanding beyond 16 members. The ACC should work with NBC and ESPN on a revenue supplementation if Notre Dame agrees to join as a football member. They could then add USF (Tampa market, newest member of the AAU) as a 16th member.

Back when Texas and Oklahoma joined the sec and usc, and ucla decided to join the big10. I stated that we would go after Oregon and Washington. I was called all kinds of stupid that it would never happen. I also included standard only because we were going after Norte Dame, without Norte Dame we don't need standford. I have also been saying for a week or better, and now I see others posting that the big10 has the footprint of the NFL. To make this work for the big10, they would need FSU as one bookend and either Clemson, Virginia, North Carolina for the big10 to be coast to coast top to bottom. We would be in every time zone with huge games all day, just like the NFL. If we get FSU and another sec team, the next media deal for the big10 will be at least 2 billion . So people who are just throwing teams around don't really see what is going on or the money moves being made. They see a team name and say they next, but the big10 isn't going to add anyone who they don't think can win a natty or play for one it would weaken the conference and making adding Oregon and Washington ucla, usc a waste of time effort and money. When the sec decided to bring in Texas and Oklahoma the big10 stopped playing checkers and started playing chess and it is showing.

Notre Dame and Florida State are the 2 remaining "big" revenue generating programs. After that it's Clemson and Miami followed by UNC, Virginia and Louisville. Unclear if any of these conferences will take on these schools but for sure both will want Florida State.
