There's no stadium better than Beaver Stadium. Paternoville, White Outs, The Blue Band, the singing of Sweet Caroline, Zombie Nation, and seeing great Nittany Lion football makes the stadium great.
The reason why Autzen Stadium gets so loud is the gigantic roof, or eve, that covers all 100 yards of the south side donar section. The students section is directly across the field and when they're oiled up, they shred their vocal chords.
First game was on Saturday. Logistics were pretty poor, but the views were awesome from the west stands. I am glad that is where we are playing for the next 2 years.
I’m a Purdue alum I’ve been to plenty of games. It’s definitely a great environment to be in. I remember the Ohio state game we beat them when they were ranked #2
Duck fan here. Not gonna lie, Husky Stadium has the best setting, hands down. But the experience at Autzen is hard to beat. The only other Big10 stadiums I’ve been to for a game are Beaver Stadium, The Shoe and the Rose Bowl but I may visit the Big House and Camp Randall this year. Looking forward to it.
@@kevinchandler179 Pretty sure I mentioned that I’ve attended a game at Beaver Stadium. It was pretty cool but I’ll have to go again before offering my opinion of the experience.
drunken bozos of Autzen a hideous venue we stopped going to due to too many attacks against us. Even when we concealed our colors going back to the car, the only time you clowns could behave yourselves was when we beat your ass in there, which was most of the time. Enjoy your 50% participation in revenues. Has uncle Phil run out of money supporting you yet?
Husky Stadium looks beautiful. I have never been there but find it hard to believe that stadium could be louder than Beaver Stadium during a white out night game against the Wolverines or Buckeyes.
I am an MSU alum, and while I agree that Maryland's stadium is not intimidating, it has a REALLY fun, cool atmosphere. I have been to a couple of games there and it is always a pleasure.
@@tricrest3 love lake Washington. he was calling it union bay. its lake union which is connected to lake washington. both are fresh water. not salt, thus not a Bay off of Puget sound
Of all the Memorial Stadiums mentioned, the ILLINI have the coolest memorial. Each colonnade has the name of an Illinois student or alum who was killed in the first World War. They are viewable from the top of the main stand. In addition to mangling ILLINI, no mention of the JUMP AROUND at Camp Randall? Way better than the Wave.
Imagine my surprise when I found out (quite recently) that “Hoosier” also refers to the football team, instead of just being a term for basketball players from Indiana 🤦♀️ As a Californian, I am embarrassed that West Coast teams have decided to play in a midwestern conference, but Rose Bowl and LA Colosseum are majestic and places of pride here ❤. But nothing beats the Big House. GO BLUE.
I have to say I’ve been to most B1G stadiums besides the new east coast ones. (Welcome!). I have to say the big house is the quietest stadium in the B1G. It’s an awesome stadium! The design doesn’t help it sound wise. Just my opinion.
Nebraska fan here. I was at the Volleyball match last year where we set the world record attendance for a women’s sports event. It was an amazing atmosphere. Overall three sides of the stadium are nice but the South stadium is overdue for an update. My favorite B1G stadium is Ohio St.
I am an Ohio State alum who's lived in Eugene since 94. Ive been to many games at both the Shoe and Autzen. Tho Autzen, a generic feeling bowl in a beautiful setting gets loud and Duck fans are 100% into it (not so much back in the mid 90s when I arrived), it doesn't compare to the experience at Ohio Stadium on gameday at all. Just my opinion.
Nebraska, I am Prejudice because I played there, the tradition is better than anywhere. You will get a chance to see it up close and personal new comers.
Husky Stadium is indeed amazing, but you incorrectly said the Olympic Mountains are viewed when in reality you can't see the Olympics from inside the stadium, you can see the CASCADES. Mount Rainier is visible from the higher decks.
I can't wait for a lot of you guys to experience Autzen Stadium. Although it can only fill 62,000 people, I implore you to bring ear plugs (unless you love Tinnitus).
The Rose Bowl being ranked 10th is way too low with all the history, beautiful backdrop of the Pasadena mountains and the overall vibe it provides for big time games. There's a reason why it's used as one of the venues for the CFP every year. Being ranked lower than the Coliseum is a complete miss too. That place is a dump now and it's located next to the USC campus in south central LA which is by far the most dangerous area of the city
I've been to the Rose Bowl for both regular season UCLA games and for the Rose Bowl game. Don't think the bowl day atmosphere is applicable to these rankings. Regular season games use massive tarps to cover the endless empty seats.
It's Lake Union not Union Bay. Lake Washington is what you see but Lake Union is not that close to the stadium.....let's say you wouldn't probably walk to it and you can't see it.
University of Washington-Husky Stadium has view of Cascades Mountains(East of Seattle), not Olympics Mountains(West of Seattle). Horseshoe opens Easterly for Lake Washington and Cascade Mountains views. A minor correction, easy to make if unfamiliar with area. Good job otherwise.
and it doesn't stop the ENTIRE time!!...1st downs, 2nd downs, 3rd downs, 4th downs, penalties, timeouts, or even Half Time!!! and not much after either!! Tailgating is in the hundreds of acres surrounding the stadium...starts days before...and the last fans don't leave till sunup on Sunday!
Duh. Ohio Stadium is on the banks of the Olentangy….not Ohio River. You don’t even have to learn geography. You only need to go to an online map to see this.
Husky stadium you were not correct on geography. 😂 The Olympics are not just past lake Washington. They are the opposite direction of pale Washington. Westward across the Puget sound. The Mountains just on the other side of lake Washington are the cascades
You contradict yourself. You criticize Purdue for it's flat profile and all the noise that escapes, but you don't ding Michigan for the same thing. It seats a lot of people but it isn't intimidating, all the noise just escapes that flat, single deck. it is about half as noisy as Autzen, Ohio, Camp Randall, Beaver, or even Spartan during big games. I think it's nickname of the "big house", causes everyone to overrate it. Every person with a sense of college football history should take in a game at the Rose Bowl but, I went to one game there last year and the place had ZERO energy. Felt like taking a nap.
The Colosseum is in Rome. The Coliseum is in Los Angeles. The recent upgrades were a big improvement. A lot of history in that stadium. When USC is dominant and the place is full and loud, it’s a magical place.
been to many stadiums on this list, michigan stadium is overrated as hell, bland, and isn’t loud, autzen is smaller but packs one helluva crowd, ohio stadium is loud and big, happy valley is everything michigans stadium wishes it could be (massive and loud), and washington’s is beautiful and loud
Great video! I've been an a college football stadium enthusiast since the 1980's, but the Grandest Stage??? I'm afraid ya got the B1G confused with the SEC!!! 😆😂🤣
That's about the only part of the video he got right! The largest stadiums in college football and now the historic rosebowl? I would say grandest stage is on point!
My top Ten based on stadium design, atmosphere and location: UW, OS, SC, NU, UW Randall, UO, Kinnick, UM, RU, PSU PSU Beaver is an ugly erector set abomination of a stadium IMO, but is in top 10 for stadium atmosphere because what the hell else is there to do in the middle of nowhere? Sorry but the Rose bowl can’t make the top 10 because it’s off UCLA campus
Husky stadium better than Autzen or the Shoe? There was no justification for its placement other than you can see mountains on a clear day. Nothing about football.
Husky Stadium is one of the best but not great. Oregon is about to start that new win streak again since your mouth keep chewing that bittersweet melon 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I agree with some of your lower ratings but not your higher rankings... Ive been to most of these stadiums so here are my thoughts (if anyone is interested). 1st, I liked Northwestern's old stadium, it was old school quirky and very interesting to the eye, you're curious about what is around the corner or as an example, what is the purpose of that turret looking thing is. But, that's gone and agree, the practice field ranks last. Michigan's stadium is boring, bland and unpleasing to the eye (even after renovations). It's only great when filled at a game, you walk into a bowl deeper than outside appearances would have you expect which makes gameday a great experience but on a daily basis, walking by it... meh. Compare to Michigan State's stadium which looks different from each side, its also situated on an angle compared to other campus structures, so when walking towards the stadium across the river's pedestrian bridges dotting the campus... the stadium always presents as an interesting structure and is always pleasing to the eye, it never gets boring. Penn State's stadium is similar however I'd rank it lower than Michigan State because it's on the outskirts of campus and is really only seen on game days. For the 4 new teams to the Big10 Oregon and UW have that early 60s architecture vibe which I just don't like that much, however both Rose Bowl and Coliseum have classical architectural grace and appeal. Agree a 1/3 filled Rose Bowl isn't too exciting, Ive been there for a sold out Rose Bowl and it's awesome. Almost all these stadiums on game day, inside, are fun places when sold out. Really two rankings are needed. An architecture ranking and a game day ranking I'll provide both. For game day assume sold out atmosphere for each stadium. Also some stadiums give off a more Pro Football vibe than college vibe so they get bumped down a little for that. Minnesota is an example, it's a cool stadium, especially at night looking at downtown Minneapolis, but it has a NFL vibe which detracts from the college atmosphere. Iowa and Nebraska both while fun place to be for a game and have some classic college appeal, but also aspects are just uninteresting, partly due to campus/city location, just unappealing. Same for Wisconsin. They all have some of that college feel but too much of a more 1970s boring NFL stadium feel has seeped during some of the additions. However for Iowa and Nebraska, they get points for their otherworldly nighttime atmosphere, there's a darkness which permeates the surroundings at night which is cool. Additionally regarding the former Pac10 teams, they lose a few points on game day ranking only because my MidWest bias that equates college football with autumn environments (cool weather, clear afternoons with bright sun and partially cloudy skies, changing and falling leaves). Architecture/View/Environment: USC Ohio State UCLA Michigan State Penn State Minnesota Wisconsin UW Maryland Oregon Iowa Nebraska Michigan Rutgers Purdue Illinois Indiana NW Gameday Atmosphere: Ohio State Michigan Penn State Michigan State USC Nebraska Iowa Minnesota Wisconsin Oregon UW UCLA (Number 1 for a New Year's Day nighttime Rose Bowl) Maryland Illinois Purdue Indiana Rutgers NW
Baseball stadiums have character. Football stadiums are meh. Football is a TV game. The stadium experience is inferior to the TV which avoids the parking, the loss of a whole day,
Note to Duck fans - having loud fans doesn't mean your stadium is anything special. It's actually a mediocre stadium in a dumpy little town. No thanks. I'll take the Big House, The Horseshoe, Camp Randall, Happy Valley or any number of other stadiums before setting foot in crappy little Autzen Stadium.
@@ODUCKSFAN1 A down year after playing in the nation championship. i can live with that. In the meantime, I'll go polish my nattys that I do have.... oh right, Nike can't buy you one of those. 🙂
@kmlynden1 wow! Your so original with the you don't have any national championships. I mean your name should be captain obvious and we as duck fans should have no opinions because we have no National Championship yet. That's right, it's a coming. You know it, and every one else knows it. That's why every one has become so hostile towards Oregon. Now that we have introduced NIL to college football, every one should be scared of us. Uncle Phil is going to do what he needs too, to get us that Natty. What's funny is, I know when we win one, every one will say we bought it. The thing is, every school has super rich alumni or donors who are billionaires. Oregon has just 1. Look at texas, who has 17 former alum who are billionaires. Look at Arkansas who has Jerry Jones as a alumni boosters. The university of Maryland's biggest booster is CEO of Under Armor. The University of Oklahoma has 17 current alumni/boosters who are billionaires. Yet people criticize Oregon, because our biggest alum putts his wallet were his mouth is. We don't live in the era where you have to pay these kids under the table. There is no salary cap. Every team is worth what you put into it. The thing is, the real reason all these other teams fans are saying this stuff about Oregon, is because they wish there alumni/boosters would put as much into there school as uncle Phil putts into his former school. Don't hate because Phil cares, hate because other teams billionaires don't. 🦆2024-25 🏈🏆

My big takeaway is 1923 was a big year for stadium construction.
My top five (in order) are Rose Bowl, Michigan Stadium, LA Coliseum, Beaver Stadium, and Camp Randall Stadium.
There's no stadium better than Beaver Stadium. Paternoville, White Outs, The Blue Band, the singing of Sweet Caroline, Zombie Nation, and seeing great Nittany Lion football makes the stadium great.
Great place - I'll take Spartan Stadium, but I am biased.
The reason why Autzen Stadium gets so loud is the gigantic roof, or eve, that covers all 100 yards of the south side donar section. The students section is directly across the field and when they're oiled up, they shred their vocal chords.
You mispronounced Illini.
Illeenie
Husky Stadium is amazing.
I bet that northwestern practice field turned stadium is going to be the funnest venue in the big 10 the next couple of years. 😂
I totally agree with you!
they do have the nice ocean view
@@k1ngcrxzy2x That’s Lake Michigan, but it a darn big lake, to be sure!
How many punts are going to be shanked into Lake Michigan during Northwestern games?
Apparently you never heard of Happy Valley!!!! WE ARE
@@kevinchandler179 Pretty sure I mentioned that I’ve attended a game at Beaver Stadium. It was pretty cool but I’ll have to go again before offering my opinion of the experience.
@maninthemiddle55 No problem, I am just saying and Happy Valley is amazing, and doing a 700 million dollar renovation!!!! Have a great day
@@kevinchandler179 Oh good, looking forward to going there again.
drunken bozos of Autzen a hideous venue we stopped going to due to too many attacks against us. Even when we concealed our colors going back to the car, the only time you clowns could behave yourselves was when we beat your ass in there, which was most of the time. Enjoy your 50% participation in revenues. Has uncle Phil run out of money supporting you yet?
Very good review. Except the narrator butchered the pronunciation of the Fighting Illini.
Rose bowl, just beautiful history
Left out of the Rose Bowl's history in this video: championship game of both the men's and women's World Cup, as well as FIVE Super Bowls
Coliseum
Terrible seating and parking
I have NO CLUE, what criteria you used to do these rankings, they seemed meaningless to me.
You said The fighting eeleeni, instead of ill I N I. 😂
Fighting ILLEENEE?? Do better, Gator!!
Lots of people cannot pronounce Illini just like they cannot pronounce Mackinac. They're doing it phonetically.
@@harleyrandygreen3597Yes, exactly; I’m right there along with everyone else! 🙋♀️
Oregon AUTZEN STADIUM will always be my favorite. It’s my homegrown team and I go to games at least 2 a year. Yes I’m biased. I love my own.
I totally agree with that!
You can pick your stadium 🏟 up and sit it inside Happy Valley or the Big House!!!!! WE ARE 😂

Fighting ALEANI?? What the hell is that? Also you just ranked by popularity not actual stadiums.
AI speaking, I believe
Of all the Memorial Stadiums mentioned, the ILLINI have the coolest memorial. Each colonnade has the name of an Illinois student or alum who was killed in the first World War. They are viewable from the top of the main stand. In addition to mangling ILLINI, no mention of the JUMP AROUND at Camp Randall? Way better than the Wave.
Hands down, Husky Staduim. Rain or shine!!!
Funniest thing I've heard in a while "The fighting Illeenee?" It's illini (with short i's, like it bill, etc)
Imagine my surprise when I found out (quite recently) that “Hoosier” also refers to the football team, instead of just being a term for basketball players from Indiana 🤦♀️
As a Californian, I am embarrassed that West Coast teams have decided to play in a midwestern conference, but Rose Bowl and LA Colosseum are majestic and places of pride here ❤.
The view from Husky Stadium out over the bay is of the Cascades and Mt. Rainier. Not the Olympics mountain range. Thats to the west..
I'm assuming you red-shirted in 1971, so did you get a National Champion ring?
🧢
Two words!!! Happy Valley!!!!
I got stuck on the fighting illeeenee?? Couldn't watch the rest I was laughing so hard.
Fighting illeeenee 😂
A lot of people can’t pronounce it correctly, especially if they aren’t from there. They pronounce it phonetically, which to me, is acceptable.
I bet you've never been to 5 of these stadiums.
Guys this isn’t about environment completely it’s about the stadium as well
What kind of an expert mispronounces a teams name?
Pretty sure he’s using an ai program to read a script. Cadence is way off
Husky Stadium is indeed amazing, but you incorrectly said the Olympic Mountains are viewed when in reality you can't see the Olympics from inside the stadium, you can see the CASCADES. Mount Rainier is visible from the higher decks.
Do you know why Happy Valley can have a capacity that big? Because, we can fill that damn thing, and above capacity!!!! WE ARE
Cascade mountains not the olympics. But good list otherwise
I can't wait for a lot of you guys to experience Autzen Stadium. Although it can only fill 62,000 people, I implore you to bring ear plugs (unless you love Tinnitus).
Full Cornhusker here and can confirm
All stadiums are great when your team is playing there.
The rose bowl setting is amazing. The view of the mountains is great. The stadium itself is a dump.
I've been to the Rose Bowl for both regular season UCLA games and for the Rose Bowl game. Don't think the bowl day atmosphere is applicable to these rankings. Regular season games use massive tarps to cover the endless empty seats.
1923 would have been a great year to own a stdium construction company 🙂
It's pronounced A-LiE-IN-EYE
It's Lake Union not Union Bay. Lake Washington is what you see but Lake Union is not that close to the stadium.....let's say you wouldn't probably walk to it and you can't see it.
Lake union and union bay are different things, union bay is the bay that husky stadium is looks onto
Union Bay is correct. It's the bay on Lake Washington where the stadium is located.
USC needs a bigger stadium they need to add 30k to 40k more seats 💺 🤦♂️
Where is this big 10 stadium on the Ohio river you mentioned in the intro?
Maybe he thinks the Cincinnati Bengals is a Big 10 team;-)
Didn't you hear? Pittsburgh Steelers are joining the Big10 next season.
Thank you, sorry for the mistake!
The AI voice mispronounced a couple of words and gets the cadence wrong, but still a nice video.
Autzen Stadium...Go Ducks!!!
Thank you for talking about the Volleyball record at Nebraska, but how do you not mention the SELLOUT STREAK?!
~ Autzen Stadium is the loudest throughout the entire game in the country. Always rumbling except when Oregon is on Offense
you'll find out the truth when Duck is served on the menu to THE Nittany Lion...White Out or not! In a White Out....bring your ear plugs!
and it doesn't stop the ENTIRE time!!...1st downs, 2nd downs, 3rd downs, 4th downs, penalties, timeouts, or even Half Time!!! and not much after either!!

Fun to see, but the "today's money bit" ??? The Big Tell that this is an AI Channel... Geezuz
Husky stadium you were not correct on geography. 😂 The Olympics are not just past lake Washington. They are the opposite direction of pale Washington. Westward across the Puget sound. The Mountains just on the other side of lake Washington are the cascades
Obviously knows nothing about the Big Ten. Il ee nee. Geez.
Felt like taking a nap.
you don't even say Illini right youre a joke
Agreed. Michigan Stadium is oddly quite.
Ann Arbor (before the luxury suites), was just a big hole in the ground with 60,000 bad seats BEHIND the end lines.

Nope Where Playoff Dreams Die GO HAWKS!!
The problem with the colosseum is that it is too flat. The top half is too far from the field. Take your binos.
The Colosseum is in Rome. The Coliseum is in Los Angeles. The recent upgrades were a big improvement. A lot of history in that stadium. When USC is dominant and the place is full and loud, it’s a magical place.

There was no justification for its placement other than you can see mountains on a clear day. Nothing about football.
Absolutely better than both and you should know better.
I'm surprised Husky stadium wasn't number 1. The lake with the mountains in the background is epic. But the best team and fans are in Autzen. 😂 Quack.

anOSU Stadium looks like a giant toilet from an aerial view. Looks like a great place to take a dump!
