- Our reaction to all things Nilah. I really went into this wanting to learn a bit more about demons after doing our Fiddlesticks reaction. It was fun learning about Ashlesh's powers and the background behind Nilah getting the powers. There are a lot of mysterious and intriguing things that could happen with this champion in the future.

Hey, there! As usual some answers to your questions:
"How is she feeding on joy? She doesn't kill happy things." I imagine the townsfolk are pretty happy about being rescued from giant monsters, so Ashlesh can soak in all the joy from the people around him. He doesn't have to kill them to do it, on the contrary - it would be detrimental to him if they die. Think about how disappointed Evelynn is every time her victims die, because they can't feel anything anymore then. I guess he can also feed on Nilah 24/7 since joy is the only emotion she has left.
"She doesn't seem too difficult" Well, you have to consider you're playing a melee champion in a lane primarily designed for ranged carries. So while her spells may not be the most complicated, your game knowledge and positioning must be pretty good. If you take one false step, your enemy can cut you down from a range where you can't even hit them back. It's also hard for marksmen-mains to switch their gamestyle to hers, because it is so different from other marksmen. It's not my role, so I don't have much experience with her. But I've heard a lot of complaints from players who regularly found it hard to really participate in a teamfight, because you have low health and need to go into melee regardless.There have been a couple times where Nilahs would do nothing in a fight because they couldn't find an opening to go in. I've also been told she feels kinda clunky and her movement-ability-combos aren't that smooth. She isn't bad by any means, but you need to get used to her and adapt your whole behaviour to her playstyle.
"What does Apotheosis (name of her ult) mean?" It's the name for a human ascending to godhood.
"Why did all memories of her get erased?" This hasn't been confirmed, but my best guess is the intro from her story: "All I want in return is you". I think she belongs to Ashlesh now. Her identity, her feelings, all memories involving her and even her soul after her death.
"Was there any mention of demons during the ruination event?" Not directly, no. But Demacia was the first city that got attacked and that's also the place where Fiddlesticks just showed up again. So maybe there is a connection? Legends of Runeterra also updated Nocturne (demon of nightmares) a bit and told a story of him feeding on the Shadow Isles before going to Demacia. Maybe the ruination magic will be the reason for his update/new powers?
"San-Uzal? Who's that?" It's Mordekaiser's birth name. It's a cool detail going back to the whole "there is power in the true name of someone" advice she gave Graves in the story! Just like she adresses Pantheon as Atreus and all people with their full first and last names.
"I need more explanation for the 7 locks." Ashlesh is kept in a prison with 7 levels. So he needs 7 keys to ascend from the deepest dungeon to freedom. As far as I understood it, the globe she carries is only like a small part of his form, which gives her a connection to him. Like Swain has the demon arm, she has some demon water.
"Didn't think she would have interactions with Twisted Fate": Graves and Twisted Fate have a long history of being friends, then mortal enemies, then friends again, then having some arguments because Graves just left him to join the Sentinels and are now developing to become lovers. At least they made it clear that Graves is into men and starts crushing on Twisted Fate, who seems to feel similar. So Nilah not liking Twisted Fate and calling him out shows her friendship to Graves and how she dislikes that Twisted Fate mistreated Graves in the past. (As a side note: Those two have a ton of stories together and all of them are great. They are such a comedic duo! And their reunion was one of the most memorable ingame events for me. You could actually pick sides and do missions for their side of the argument. My best friend was a big Graves fan and I always liked Twisted Fate more, so we really got into it and had a lot of fun battling the argument out. I'm glad they got a happy ending!)
Regarding her interactions with Fiddlesticks/why she is so confident she can defeat the demons: This is only my theory! The demons are pretty tied to their corresponding emotion. Since Nilah can only feel joy and all of Fiddlesticks' powers are intended to make you feel fear, I guess she is immune to that. So it comes down to actual magic/fighting capabilities and Nilah is well trained in combat while Fiddlesticks mainly focuses on mind games.
"Are Evelynn and Tahm Kench part of the 10?" No. Fiddlesticks and Ashlesh are the only confirmed ones.
--> There are a lot of theories in this one and a lot of questions aren't answered by Riot yet. Just like with the other demons, there is a lot of mystery and we need more lore!

for "Why did all memories of her get erased?" I believe it gets explained with her interaction with swain "We are not alike Jericho swain I know the price I paid." Her memories along with her emotions were most likely her payment.
Wonder why she never said Senna's name... is she implying that Senna lost more than some years while inside Thresh's lantern?
@@bloodwire7152 I don't know for certain, but in her story with Graves, she didn't even know where any of the Sentinels are and who she is looking for. So maybe she just doesn't know Senna's name but recognises her "uniform" and the stones from her gun at first encounter?
I don't think she can defeat fiddlesticks at all, she just says it cause she think she can ( after all fiddlesticks is the strongest among the ten, and she just hold a small power of Ashlesh ) also I'm pretty sure the line she says about true names, it's because it's the only way to defeat a demons with it ( knowing their true name )
The writers actually explained how Ashlesh fed before he was trapped, and it also explains Nilah's characterization. When Ashlesh would set his eyes on someone, that person would slowly lose the ability to feel anything other than joy, much like Nilah. However, that happiness would soon turn into mania, and with it into reckless bravado - until the person did something that killed them, along with a (preferably large) number of innocent people. I really like how the writers pulled it off. Writing a scary fear monster is expected, but turning a demon based on a positive emotion creepy takes some work.

Necrit made a Video explaining the Lore of Nilah when she came out and as far as i remember it had stuff in it that isnt in this story so you might wanna check it out for clarification.
yeah he should definitely watch it, even if want to do it off camera but he def should do it cause I saw a lot of information missing in the wiki and voice lines
I know you just reacted to nilah , fiddlesticks and Zoe , but do you remember what did suprise party fiddlestick said when he kill Zoe? "I think its time to bring JOY back into the world" I think it might be hinting that by killing Zoe , he will be able to free Ashlesh (just my theory)

The newer voicelines from skinspotlights have subtitles as closed captions, showing who she's talking to
wow ive never seen anything on nilahs lore, and shes pretty cool! i agree 100% she reminds me of a water bender, im curious how she is going to impact the story going forward🤔. ive been enjoying learning champions this way :) would still love to see your reaction to neeko or twitch! i know you said you are doing every character, and you will get there eventually. honorableness mentions(incase you do a tally list on next champs to do): Zac, Janna, or Olaf
also maybe the line of her being unbound from the world is referencing everyone who ever knew her forgetting her?
Fun fact: In the PT BR version of LOL, Nilah VA is the same as Korra from Avatar.
Yeah, Nilah is very interesting in terms of lore. And I’m curious too is she really able to delete demons from existence, or just know how to banish them (like fiddlesticks was banished). But the only things is obvious - demons have no power against her, cause she doesn’t feel fear or lust or greed or whatever specific emotion/feeling demons can use as a weapon, only joy
obv fiddlesticks can't die in anyway, the only way is to all people and animals die in Runeterra, so she prb knows how to imprison fiddlesticks just how they imprisoned Ashlesh
the roughly 1:04:00 kill of kindred, the third thing she mentions feeling is the etherfiend, who is said to be the one to take kindred when the whole of life in the universe has come to an end

Idk where do you get that she said it about The Etherfiend, if Kindred would be weak it would make sense but It doesn't hunt them yet.
maybe yeah, that would make sense, but its only when a god is forgotten does the etherfiend take them, even if kindred "dies" no one would forget death, so its prob the grey man, but that is cool if it was a secret reference to it
Well there's a theory also says that Zoe stole the key from fiddlesticks which was key to the Joy. Whenever they mention about the key they use "joy" word. When the suprise party fiddle kills zoe he says "Well. I think it's time to bring joy back into the world". So joy demon which is Ashlesh is still locked there and Zoe has the key for it.

It's 7hand of demon Ashlesh ;) Nilah few times mention that she will live forever in songs. She want to make people remember her so she's live forever and demon not take her and broke free from prison. This is teory of comunity ;)
For kindred I think nilah means the Vulture/Etherfiend.

it can be vulture since it is the entity that feeds on death bringers like kindred, and its also way older than the gray man or kindred, i'm inclined to think its etherfiend cause its a kill quote, so it hits on them being colected@@NoOne-gg5zu

@@NoOne-gg5zu But it wouldn't really make sense with "far older" part. Speacially considering Nillah connection to the Demons It would make sense that she felt Grey Man and They were Primal Demon, as we know they ARE "Far older"
@@danieltrujillo4611 how do you calculated that The Etherfield is older then Grey Man? In fact there is a big theory that Grey Men split themself into Mask Mother and The Etherfield that does sound very real.
I think in order for the demon to not claim her she needs to live and living can be many things and she wants to live in songs so she can never die in the minds of people. I think she outwit the demon by doing this because even if she dies she never truly died so if she is remembered in songs and legends she locks the demons powers

This is really the only story that since Summer 2021 works with what happened during the whole Sentinels of Light mess ... and moves it somewhat forward ... the previous 2 mentions are outright dismissal of the whole thing ... in one Sejuani asks Olaf about it back in Freljord ... only to be told "dont want to talk about it" In another Graves wants to bragg about it only to get Shot down by his partner with "I dont care about that"
The way they so far refuse to take on the consequences of what they did there ... is one of the biggest issue with Riots story telling to date ... followed closely to the undelivered Void event and the current Lore drought ....
Oh she has lines for Twisted Fate because she is friends with Graves. Graves and TF are partners in crime and TF has betrayed Graves in the past. The whole situation is not helped by the fact that Graves and TF are romantically interested in each other but are not really acknowledging it. Nilah just thinks Graves can find a much better man.
