@@SmokinandGrillinwithAB , I love it when doggos get belly rubs and scratches. They always look so silly doing that leg thump thing, even the tiny toy doggos like it as well.
*Im in VA and will grill as long as I can get it started(sometimes it may have snowed). I love that flavor. Ribs on the grill is just correct. Baked beans and potato salad for the sides.*
AB has been getting me through this quarantine. My husband was intrigued when I found a guy who talks about Maryland and LA and Riverside (we have ties to all three), but he became super interested when I started feeding him the recipes I learned on this channel. He’s a meat and potatoes kind of guy, but I’ve been able to slowly expand his palate simply because because I tell him the food is an AB recipe. The other thing I really appreciate about AB and his advice is, if you follow it, you won’t be burning or ruining food and making expensive mistakes which not many of us can afford these days.
How the hell is there so many MEN out there that cook, and enjoy it? Some of these comments gave me life 🙌 Dudes are waking up, and spoiling their Queens. THANK YOU!
For those that don't know, country style pork ribs, bone in or boneless, are just cuts from a pork butt/boston butt. You can cook them many ways. Bohemian way, sear, add Sour Kraut and simmer till tender (electric skillet/oven/grill)... On the grill, just like you would do a pork butt with adjusted timing. I do mine at 175 for a few hours, till color correct, then bump up temp to 250 then into a aluminum wrap or covered aluminum tin and basically braise until pull tender add any BBQ sauce you want at wrap, or wait and add sauce after and just put on grill for a few minutes to set. They are great dry or wet!! This is a fantastic video with great instructions. AB does a great job on his videos. Would do a cook with him any day of the week
you forgot a super cheap cut ,here in los angeles they were 99 cents a lb now they went a bit to hover around 1.20, this is my favorite cut of pork ever
Oh yeah! I'm 65, a native Texan. and I try to do it just like you AB. Same meats same sides it all looks good to me. Thanks much, you have got the natural talent.
Lmbo! The funny thing is, he doesn't eat table food. Just every now and then I'll give him a piece but for the most part it's top notch Dog Food for him :)
The way you put out coals on one side and then placed unlit coals across with a few pieces of wood was a new idea for me. I learn something new from your grilling videos...keep up the good work. Personally I only watch the grilling videos.
I just saw this video a few days ago for the first time. I have never grilled meat really good, just OK at best. Following your advice in this video, I got a couple briquet baskets and used a little aluminum pan to put the hot water in. I couldn't get the boneless pork ribs, so I grilled pork tenderloin (I cooked them for 2 hours instead of 3 hours because they would be like shoe leather if I didn't). I also grilled chicken thighs (I brined them as they thaw) and boneless skinless chicken breast for my cat. This was, by far, my best BBQ ever. This video has given me some basics to build on. I will definitely get the boneless ribs, the next time, though the loin was pretty darned good. Thank you, very much...
It can be a little tricky but after my How to video it will all make sense. I'm filming it this weekend and I will release it next week. Thank you Quita and GM :)
A quick tip, get a thermometer, I use a cheap one that allows me to have 2 probes, I use one for the meats and one for the bbq... Start off with all your vents open all the way, fire up your coals and add them, put the lid on, wait till the temp stops climbing, or if it passes your cooking temp, close the top vent so only about 1/8th is open, leave the bottom open, if still hot I cut the bottom to half. You just have to keep playing around with the vents until you get it right. I do bold changes at first, like 100% to 50% if too cold after, I move to 75%, if to hot I move to 25% and repeat until it levels off. Hope this helps!
I put some of these on the grill over the weekend and I promise you I cooked them the exact same way. My brother-in-law even smelled them when he pulled in the driveway. I guess I am doing it right. Thanks bro.
You showed how to set up your smoker which I thank you, I don’t have one yet but will. I’ve cooked these in the oven before and they turned out great ❤
I've been making these for years, some boys from the south showed me how back in my army days. we use direct heat, for quicker cook. i mix some beer with barbecue sauce . salt and pepper the ribs, then let the ribs sit in that for a few hours, or over night. then grill and based them for 20 to 40 min. depending on the size. stop based them 10 min. before done.. so good.
That’s the way I cook country style ribs. Most TH-cam videos aren’t like this. They put it in a pan and cover it and braise it in a ton of bbq sauce. Nice my man!!
Good morning AB!! As if I needed any more reasons to watch your channel, you bring in Boscoe!!! I love big dogs, my pit is almost 16 yrs old now and she is my shadow. I know Boscoe must be getting his own plate. Those ribs are it!

This has been my go to for 15 years whenever I have large family dinners. I do chicken Breast the same way. I do this to avoid our guest having to deal with bones. love this video because there are very few videos with Country Ribs. You were correct when you say you cannot over season them. I season mine heavy and allow the mixture of the Sweet BBQ sauce to off set it for a perfect blend. Also, I have never seen that grill that has that water troth. I like it I just typically put a pan down where you catch the drippings and add water to that pan.

Nice job. I use my Webber kettle for spare ribs all the time. Same method but I let mine get up to 300+ with a full pile of hot coals. I leave it covered until it drops to 170 degrees and they’re done. 2.5 to 3 hours. I’m a dry rib fan myself. Sauce on the side.
