- I played through the entirety of Pokemon Unbound. It is one of the best ROM Hacks ever made with so many amazing features and quality of life improvements.

There's a quest where you have to get a little girl back to her mom, but she keeps getting blown away by the wind. Then her mom finally finds her and they both turn into Dittos and walk away. This game is absolutely surreal. That mission was like a Salvador Dali painting.

This is my favorite Pokemon game, period, official games included. Unbound is just a masterpiece, and the New Game+ and randomizer options makes it infinitely replayable. I've played through it nine separate times lmao

The fact that you get gible as a started is perfect for a cynthia run.
My only problem with this game was being forced to participate in double battles with an AI partner for major story beats like the Final Aklove fight because even on hard difficulty they are so braindead. I spent all this time making a great team i loved fighting with only to be stripped of half of them and forced to deal with a awful partner. Otherwise it's an awesome game.

This is one of my favorite fan games, I usually have trouble completing fan games because there either way to long, or they just don’t have that authentic Pokémon game feel.
This game though is great, I actually finished it.

Damn this was a solid fun watch! I like when people have critics but don't bash on developers, especially since it usually takes them years to make a game and the beginning and end tends to have different quality. Thanks for playing this game in such a chill way and I'm excited to see you play more fan games and romhacks! there's SO many out there that have interesting storylines
I definitely suggest the new soul stones game (apparently it's part two but it's good) and Pokemon rejuvenation since that's also very long deep storyline!- and has Pokemon from the most recent Gen too! (it is a very long storyline though)

6:27 this sentence hit me hard, for me this Gloom was the hardest Gloom i ever fight in my life.
everytime it sleeps my pokemon and i had no chance to one hit kill gloom with a very effective attack. no i needed 4 attacks to finally take it out.

I have a question why do you keep saying he when talking to the rival when there’s a symbol for female on it (and probably the same if male) but then this 28:36 happened and now I need answers or else I’m questioning everything minus the Pokémon.

Why hasn't Skeli updated Pokemon Unbound to 9 gen?
I don't think they have any plans, it's a completed game in their eyes and its hard to fit more pokemon and change teams and route encounters.

leach life is 20, but they have a new move called leach fang that does the 80 u're looking for.

The game does not have gen 8 btw.
There is some, but they are like a gift (?) / Event from the dev themselves. Which requires you to beat the game first, and input some code.
Completed (almost 100%, but it wasn't doable that time) Unbound before v2.0, was very pleased.
The game is very rich with contents, probably the best ROM hack I've ever found.
It mentions it in the project description so I said it too, I guess I never realised that.
I think it uses gen 8 mechanics. Like rapid spin gives +1 speed
gen 8 pokemon is obtainable during post game only, but mechanics are up to gen 8 (this includes dynamaxing but it's not in the main story)
Gen 8 was catchable with special encounters, not regularly walking in grasses. Some (pretty few) are from gifts but the least are from this special encounter. Just search "how to catch gen 8 in unbound" and you'll find it

the player character's dad is for sure the weakest part of the story to me. there's norhing i hate more than playing as a special character rather than some random guy who happened to get involved, or at the very least just got lucky with what they were special with ala spider-man.
It's the major reason why you're in this situation, and yet it's lacking :/
Even though this game is popular, it's always gonna be underrated. Nearly every bit of design is pure perfection (except that one double battle with intimidate being awful)

When I say the game is easy, it isn't a critical point or a way to snub the game. I am just saying that for context as to why I don't show gym battles etc. Don't consider everything as an attack.
