Unboxing and Installing aux buttons from Z automotive to use with Tazer

- I install the aux buttons that you can buy from Z Automotive and replace your dormant buttons on your Durango or any other Mopar vehicle with this steering wheel setup. 2015+ models. If you dont have Adaptive cruise or lane departure warning etc then you have buttons that dont do anything and dont push in. These buttons will allow you to program your Tazer to do hoy key functions on the fly without having to go through the menu

But the buttons are still blank and we all know people with ocd want them to say aux 1, aux 2, and aux 3. Although this wins for not having to rip your steering wheel apart. Great video. 👍🏻
Ya well I dont need it to say anything as I may change what each button does in the future. OCD sucks for a lot of people but for me its fine lol

So when you force AWD with the aux button. Do only Have to hit again to go back to normal (letting the car decide)?
yes you need to hit button again for it to go back to AWD

I just got a tazer for my 21 gt charger awd and I don’t see a option to force rwd
Car needs to be on and married to the vehicle first. Its one of the last menu options. Although Ive never tried it on a and charger. That might be something to have ZAutomotive add a feature in for if they haven't already. IDK what AWD system they use on the charger
Does the Tazer need to stay plugged in for mapped buttons to work?
Yes mapped buttons can only be assigned with live features which require the device to be plugged in to work.
@@MattySRT Appreciate the reply i figured that might be the case. Im going to get the trunk bypass for tazer then to leave it plugged in back there.

When installing the buttons, take a real good look at the bottom side of the new button.
You will notice that there is a specific button design that matches up with the steering wheel button hole.
It will make things much easier when trying to determine which button goes where.

Has anyone on here been able to assign Launch Mode to any of the buttons?
I have the option in the list but will not attach to the button.
I have a launch button already by my parking sensors button. Also there’s certain things you can’t assign to the buttons
What process did you use to get the launch button assigned?
Can’t get it to assign on my 2015 Challenger RT SHAKER PLUS!

Is that possible if i pop out the factory button and cut them from the lines which would separate them then i can put those button back in then that could work or no
