    Hey Rocco, I haven't heard your type of New York accent in over 30 years! It's refreshing to hear it after such a long time. I'm not a native of New York, nor, a transplant. It's comforting to hear it again.🤓😁⭐⭐⭐ Doug

    That's a good tip with burping the air out of the drain line. I will definitely be doing that on my next oil change. One thing that I like to do, especially with that high dollar synthetic is to put the cap on the bottle after pouring the oil into the oil tank and stand them all up on the cap of the oil bottle. You will get a good bit of oil that drains down to the cap on all 4 bottles when you do an oil and transmission fluid change if you use 20w50. I end up with a good bit of oil that I pour back into the partially used bottle. Thanks again for the tips, Rocco!

    I bought a 2022 Forty-Eight few weeks ago and just turned 1,000 miles. My 24th motorcycle, yeah I know, I’m a blessed man. The dealer told me to always check the oil after it’s been ridden and the oil is warm and “always” check it while the bike is on it’s side stand. I haven’t checked the manual yet to see exactly what the amount of oil it states.

    • @TwoWheelRocco

      Happy to help. I like halfway on the oil dipstick. I find that way you will not have a lot of oil on the air filter. I do not like to oil my K&N air filter with there oil. I find the bike runs better with a clean air filter. Let us know what you think and how she runs. Good luck with the new ride thank you for watching and your sub Jerry. 48 are great bikes. Ride safe and have a great day

    Hey Rocco, it says in the manual that oil level check should be done when the bike is on the kickstand after running for ten minutes to get up to temperature, otherwise you won't have a true reading.

    Great video. My question to you is - do you ever take your derby cover off to drain the oil from there?

    • @TwoWheelRocco
      @TwoWheelRocco  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Happy to help. The only time you remove that derby cover is on your transmission and Primary oil change on a sportster, you have your engine oil which is the 20/50 on the left side is your primary oil which feeds your transmission and your primary and Clutch. so when you do the Primary oil change then you remove that cover unless you have an inspection window on the primary side, just remove the fluid through the plug at the bottom and put the fluid in through that inspection window if there is one. Any questions just ask. Thank you for all your support Don. Drive safe and have a great day. Hope this helped. • @bigblue3568
      @bigblue3568 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      On the Jiffy stand aka kick stand per the owners manual. 2.8 qts is the correct capacity but in reality a couple of ounces will remain in the engine after complete drain. Perform a HOT engine oil check which is taken at operating temp so take it for a ride not a simply start up and idle for a minute then check.

      @@TwoWheelRocco Manual & air pocket oil tube purge. When you put the oil cap on, there is tons of air in the system, I wonder where that air goes? Starting a bike with only 2 qts. and knowing it takes 3qts. since .6 qts. remain in the engine I guess (3.6 capacity), very interesting. Check on side stand as well, while hot. Your instructions are very easy to understand, thank you.

    • @TwoWheelRocco

      I agree. But it does state this in the manual to purge the bottom line. They state air pocket to go through that oil pump. But I agree with you. Harley Davidson just making it difficult. So you won't do the work. But it is easy to prime the air out of the bottom of the hose. Do I think it's needed, no. Thank you for watching and your sub E C. Ride safe and have a great day. The air pocket in the line is at the bottom that's where your feeds lines go to your oil pump. The top air will never get in the system. These are dry sump motors there's no oil in the bottom of your motor like your car. So they do have a point that if that air pocket got to the pump it could be a problem because it is at the bottom that feeds the oil to your pump in your motor. I don't believe you could ever happen. But that's what they thinking.
