Sucks because street justice is one of the reasons cops have been given such wide latitude to be corrupt. They've been given the ability to figuratively and sometimes literally shoot first and ask questions later because they "may" fear someone will get the drop on them first. Cops are sometimes some of the bravest and honorable people. But sometimes they're some of the worst among us. That's how humanity is. $75K, if true, is actually not bad as compensation for this type of case. A lot of folks, especially on YT, think these are million-plus-dollar cases; they are NOT. And stipulating (i.e., agreeing) that the defendant(s) did nothing wrong is STANDARD for ALL SETTLEMENTS; *this is why you get the money UPFRONT,* without going forward with a trial. You CAN always *refuse* to settle, and go to trial, but you then take the risk of losing, in which case you will have spent a whole lot of money out of pocket (unless you were able to retain counsel on a contingency or pro bono basis, which is not always feasible) only to receive NOTHING. The bad part here is that the taxpayer foots the bill for all these settlements; they need to be paid by LEOs directly or their unions or a carrier that insures LEOs (for which LEOs, not their public entity employers, pay the premiums).
@@mattielucius6849 Yeah its appalling. Only Detectives should be allowed to lie imo. Because if regular cops can lie about anything then if someone asks a cop "Am I being detained" then what the cop says could be a lie, how would you know if anything a cop says is a lie or not, if you ask a cop what the law is, a cop could just make up laws that don't exist. And what I found strange was how the guy even planted weed in the first place, that means that cop had illegal weed on him already. I don't think weed should be illegal in the first place though. But I found it to be injust that the cop go no punishment for that, there should be a rule that any cop who falsely arrests someone gets the same amount of time in jail as the person they arrested, it will make them reconsider their illegal actions.

@@rossgeographyI think it was more then that. You could tell they were basically setting him up to put him into a resisting arrest scenario. It’s really hard to comply and step out of the car when one officer is tugging you one way, and the officer on the other side is holding you down. You could see Jamal when he pulled his phone and say okay he’s gonna record start to move on his own to comply and get out of the car, but that’s when the other officer grabs the phone arm, says he’s resisting and you basically have a tug of war situation going on. Cops do this all the time, give contradictory orders, or will do things like apply pressure on an arm, but then scream at you for not being able to put your arms behind your back, the same arm they are restraining, then they’ve got you on resisting arrest. It’s even more ridiculous when they do this on stops like this with absolutely zero pretext whatsoever because they essentially get someone for resisting an arrest when there isn’t even an underlying crime or adequate reason for them to be interacting with you in the first place. It’s easy to cheer for people getting 100s of millions in settlements across the country, and those citizens who have their rights violated should get it, but the issue is it’s our taxpayer dollars funding those settlements. I’m sure if qualified immunity wasn’t as ridiculously broad as it is, and these settlements came out of these officers pensions you would actually be able to deter this but there is no real accountability or change , just taxpayers footing the bill for our own rights being trampled while we continually also increase police budgets basically yearly

Why just 10 years? If you plant evidence it is you who made that choice. It is not a matter of making a mistake or something. If you plant evidence you should go to prison for life. That would be a real deterrent.

Yeah, as long as all of us allow it. I'm guilty of not doingshyt to help get corrupt cops locked up too, but, it's just facts. He was fresh out of hospital and his wound was stitched just the other day, he told the 2 cops about it prior to getting taken down and they did not listen. This resulted in his wound opening and causing it to bleed. Lying on the ground for 20 minutes suffering in pain is horrible, those 2 cops should have had much worse charges.
That makes sense I was confused why he was taken away in an ambulance not that they didn’t cause harm to him but if he’s got a recently stitched up wound that must of been super painful! They realized very quickly they fucked up. How planting evidence isn’t a crime is beyond me. I know it technically is, but if they won’t prosecute it what good is a law?
I remember when I did ride-alongs during college as part of a criminal justice organization I was in officers did this a lot. They literally searched one guys car "in the hood" for 30 minutes looking for anything. The inside of his car was dirty and they tried to look at every crumb for a piece of drug. Only later when we were in the suburbs and they caught some kids with alcohol. They called ones parent (part of the force) to come to the scene to fix it. I never fully trusted cops after that. It’s bc of racism. That’s also why it will never change. People will watch hundreds of these vids and see a majority of the victims are black but act like they don’t know why cops are doing this
Laws are for poor people and those not involved in enforcing them or creating them. They protect each other and use their power to protect friends and their relatives. This also happens in the UK, as soon as a cop is accused of anything they immediately close ranks and start defending them. Very few cops are punished in the UK unless they really screwed up and even then they will never face prison time unless they did something really bad.

The bad part here is that the taxpayer foots the bill for all these settlements; they need to be paid by LEOs directly or their unions or a carrier that insures LEOs (for which LEOs, not their public entity employers, pay the premiums).

and then when all the cops turn up - no one seems to question the stop - I mean a commanding officer should have reviewed the footage and berated the officers

Who says they planted fake evidence? The Doctor? Really? Do *they* say they planted fake evidence… admitting it? Or do they say something else…
And if they say something else (and you can bet they do)… is there adequate evidence to make any case?
@@RyderSpearmannthe video pretty fuckin cut nd dry bootlicker bro put weed on a place he searched multiple times
@@RyderSpearmann Its right in front of your eyes you malice person. Everything they said and did was right there on camera. Even Stevie Wonder can see the evidence. Either you must be a racists cop yourself that plants evidence or youre his attorney lol
@@RyderSpearmann Well them telling each other "We have to find something" after searching the vehicle and finding nothing, only for the weed to appear in their hand and fall into a space they already searched is pretty adequate evidence, but who are you going to believe? The police, or your lying eyes?
@@RyderSpearmannwe literally saw him plant the weed in the car on camera... are you for real right now? And they cryptic talking between the two officers just proves that there were something suspicious happening with them.
It's well past due - We must demand action against this behavior. We must demand that cops, government employees, agents, and contractors be held accountable! Repeal qualified immunity. Establish laws requiring insurance companies to set higher standards for government officials to retain insurability, demand transparency policies are in place and limit police unions' involvement in issues concerning people's civil rights and liberties. Keep up the great work.
Man I feel horrible Jason. Damn those cops
There has got to be consequences for these cops. Letting them get away this type of corruption is scary. They disgust me.
Hollywood is writing the laws and burying us at this point
You should be a jail. you are a criminal, if you dissagree you are a beta simp
The fact that they rather destroy a persons life rather than admit to have made a mistake like a grown ass adult is tragic af.
I live in Europe, have never been to the states and even I know veterans can park in handicap spots.
This is just another example of the corruption of some police officers and the burden of what LIVING WHILE BLACK in America is like.
@@ThatDayumWood979"some policr officers" bold of you to think this isn't the standard.
@@whitygooseDumb of you to assume it’s all cops. “Some”, is appropriate here.
I’d recommend searching some bodycam footage videos of the police acting in their proper servicing of the public. To think corruption is the standard is ridiculous.
@@TophinatorStreams If some cops are rotten but most cops do nothing about it. It becomes the standard.
@@TophinatorStreams Neutrality in the face of evil is complicity. You or anyone being neutral in the face of injustice doesn't make you any better. The oppression would not be so strong without accomplices AMONG the oppressed. Key word here is oppressed. The cops aren't even oppressed and yet they look the other way. Being neutral doesn't help the victims as for the corrupt ones? It sure does especially the corrupt cops here.
You are thinking too narrowly here. You really think the whole department is innocent and has nothing to do with this? You're not aware of what's going on in the background. Don't talk so lightly of it we have no clue how deep the corruption really is.
Sadly they just changed it in Texas that DV tags have to have a handicap placard too. My mom just got ticketed for it in front of our apartment where she's been using the handicap spot for years.
I hope the guy eating his lunch sued them to the hills.
The American justice system is laughable. How did most of these cops get off with no charges, like some of them didn’t even get FIRED?
because our governments are built upon a hierarchy of racists
there is no "American justice system" just a police FORCE system.
.
@@WhiteAngel888 My guy, you are the problem...
yeah the greatest country has a few problems
it's crazy how they've twisted someone standing up for their constitutional rights into "resisting arrest"
It happens all the time with BP
@EnclaviousFiraga it's so rare it gets on the news lol
@@CMP-st5wh Its rare that it gets on the news but its rare that its ever this well documented, so that's the reason why.
It’s never legal to resist arrest. Don’t do it. Take the night in jail because after the charges are dismissed
@@Bingbangboompowwham Jamal did not resist arrest. The dirty cops made it up.
Ayooo this is absolutely insane 🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️
Ive never felt like being black could do this to you
the fact the first cop didnt get arrested or even fired atleast is mind blowing. Just shows you how high up the corruption is in that department.
No charges brought against the officers that planted evidence?! As a former police officer myself, that is fucking disgusting. Absolutely unacceptable. In South Carolina, those guys would have been put UNDER the jail.
You have too much faith. Maybe you have the best department in the country, but I promise you that is a low bar to clear.
I must live in a different State with the same Letters! In SC this same stuff happens and I’ve seen them on these channels.
When were you a cop? Police unions are extremely powerful these days, and the Supreme Court has always been extremely sympathetic to police. I can’t imagine that any cop today is unaware of the fact that they can fuck somebody’s life up and get away with it.
Cops in SC plant drugs all the time because weed is still illegal. I heard so many stories of it happening to people I knew didnt even smoke
Non consequential bad behavior leads to further bad behavior. Not only by the perpetrator but also by other officers seeing it happen.
A little slap on the wrist.
Still getting paid.
No one of the settlement fees come out of their pockets or the Dept. It’s paid by tax dollars of the people they have pledged to protect. Shame shame shame
20:58 we investigated ourselves and found that we did better than any cop in history
Remember unless the cop is charged with a felony they're just gonna go to the neighboring station
Corrupt cops . . . SICKENING...they deserve LIFE with no parole! Once corrupt, always corrupt!
Or something else
And even if the cops claim they weren’t racist after these problems happened they definitely turned racist for a fact
I agree.
That's just dumb lol
