Can you use your current kennel as an end table? Put a little blanket over the kennel, leaving the door accessible and making it feel cozy inside under the blanket, and then put a tray on top? I love the way you figured out how to feel better at Christmas - I’m a big fan of handmade ornaments and your son would enjoy making some ornaments and memories with you. Those dried oranges are so beautiful! You are really making progress and even though you don’t know me, and I’m old enough to be your grandmother, I am so proud of you and happy for you.
Huge, huge congrats on the progress in the living room!!! Fantastically well done; it’s really looking great. As for what to celebrate, a friend of mine makes a bower instead of a tree. She makes a frame with hula hoops, and then makes a kind of spherical thing. Lots of fun, and lots of advantages (eg no floor space occupied). I love celebrating solstice, because the days start getting tonger and my depression slowly ebbs. Last year a small group of my nearest and dearest wrote our wishes for the year on those Chinese paper lanterns that you send up like mini hot air balloons with votive candles, and we sent them up into the sky at night. It was really pretty and uplifting-I highly recommend it! No matter how you decide to decorate or celebrate, have a wonderful, joyous Yule! 🎉❤🌞
Yaaaaasssss!!! Getting the surplus out of the apt is wonderful for your anxiety! Less is more. Love how it’s falling into place. Peace will reign in your home.
You're looking much more relaxed now that the living room is getting organized and comfortable. As for gift wrap, I used to have that same gift wrap storage thingy, and I donated it because it's more of a hindrance than a help. After almost 50 years of putting up a Christmas tree this year I donated all my decorations because at 75 going up and down a ladder just isn't any fun, but I'm keeping an eye out for a cheap tabletop tree just in case I decided I want a tree this year. My mom passed away on Christmas eve so I know how a loss can affect one's holiday spirit.
The sofa looks great and you have so much space, yippee 🥳 Taking out the other stuff made a difference too. Slow and steady wins the race. Looking forward to seeing what you do tomorrow. Hope all went well with the doctor.
Get a pencil tree then it won’t be so big. Also, just keep the kennel. Like you said you can put it down and up as needed. If you get an end table you won’t be able too, and it becomes a “flat” surface and you know what happens to flat surfaces. The couch looks great there!!!
origami ornaments & paper snowflakes✌🏼🎅🏼 relaxing, quick, pretty & free (or close to it) 💚❤️💚❤️ Everything’s coming together so nicely. You’re almost ‘there’. Yay! 🥳🎉
OMG!! It looks so good that way!! Unless you get a smaller collapsible crate that you can tuck behind the couch when not using, the only way I think it could work is to move the planter right next to the front door and get one of those end table crates for next to the chaise. It might be a bit tight with the Christmas tree next to the planter, but it’s only for a month out of the year. 🤷🏻♀️
It looks so good. Put the kennel as the end table. Maybe put cardboard on the top or some sort of timber to give you a flat surface. Can you turn the rug around so it goes under the couch. You are doing a great job, with this. It’s coming together as you wanted.
Making something can always be relaxing. Then you get an earned sense of satisfaction too. Well done. The older you get the more you realize flexibility with “ traditions “ is OK.👍🏻🇨🇦
Hello Libby I love it now you can watch tv , and with the desk and table love how you’re gonna set it up. Can’t wait to see it when you’re done. Oh the rug you could put it under your kitchen table I think that would look nice. Have a good rest of your day ❤
That's looking so much better, especially now that you've taken out all the other stuff you don't want in there. It's a shame you couldn't get the lounge on the other side but it definitely looks like it's going to work OK for you. ❤
I like the new arrangement of the furniture. You are almost there with getting the rest of it all sorted and unboxed and things taken to storage. When that is done, you will feel so much more relaxed. Good job.
Hi Libby....love your videos! ❤ just a thought... Where you are sitting at the end of the video, you could move the couch away from the wall a bit more, and maybe you'll have enough space for a slim end table kennel and would serve as a place for a table lamp rather then a stand up lamp. Once you turn the desk, there should be enough room to do that. Cheers from snowy Northern Ontario Canada.
Whoohoo Libby!!! It looks so good! The joy on your face now shines very brightly (I think I need sunglasses!!!) I also think that the kennel could go between the couch and the desk. Closer to the couch to act as an end table. Or instead of a kennel can you get a gate to put across the bathroom door? That wont work if he's a houdini! ❤❤❤❤❤
Looks sooooo good!! Such great progression Libby!! I need to ask about that shoes organizer on the outside of that door when u walk in…can u put on the inside of that closet or some other closet? It’s a lot when u walk in & messes the whole vibe of the LR! 🙏🏻
I’d move the rug down under the table/desk/tv and if you want a rug for by the door to help keep the carpet clean then I’d buy a smaller rug for that area. I’m glad you’ve found a layout that works for you. I’d find a smaller kennel (at a thrift store even). Also let people know you’re looking for a smaller kennel and someone might have one they want to unload.
Libby, where you moved the sofa makes your living room look so much bigger!!! Looks great there 😊 I think an end table kennel would fit to the left of your couch. There are so many choices of the end table kennels out there that I’m sure you could find one that would fit and look great! And it would be a nice place to put a table lamp, remotes, and a drink! The rug might look good under your dining table. Hope your doctor appointment went well. Take care! ❤😊
Yea but maybe instead of spending money on it she should just put the flat piece of something sturdy with a cover that drapes all around the cage and use that as the end table.
OMG!! Girl!! I have been having left lower side pain since April. Went to my primary and got a CT scan done. Said it was either diverticulitis or the cyst on my ovary. Changed my diet for the diverticulitis. Fast forward to November and went to urgent care and then ER visit before 🦃 day. I was having horrible pain. Do another CT scan and I have a kidney stone!!! Please make sure they check this too!! Hope u feel better. 😊😊
Your living room is really coming together. I know it's going to be beautiful once everything is done. My son is grown now but I was also a single mother. You can work on making your own memories and traditions with your son. Just the two of you.
That makes a big difference. Each time you do something now; put a tote in the car, unpack a box and collapse it, pack the desk up with office stuff etc the impact will feel exponentially more. You are on the last leg with the room. I think the rug is drawing the eye badly because it's the wrong shape for the space. Someone else said use it in the dining area, running against the wall with the table on it. I think that would look better. When sat at the table you will both be on the rug. Then at some point get a much smaller rug just to put your feet on in front of the sofa. Avoid rug spilling into the walkway from the front door into the room. You are doing so well. And yes, make up new holiday activities. Kelly will love it if you play lots of board games with him and go for walks. And make nice smells from the kitchen.
Hi Libby! Wow you did an amazing job! Love it. Could you turn the rug the other way so it’s a little bit under the couch. If not it really looks nice where it is. ❤❤❤❤
I do like where you put the couch it takes time to figure out everything no rush you getting to it piece by piece. I love the idea of you creating Christmas decor the way you want. Some people just get table top size trees in small places nothing wrong with that.
Progress🎉 just a thought foe later when you want to move your furniture around, you might not be game for this but here it goes. I would switch the chaise to the other side so it would be in the corner. Your couch totally disassembles, and I know you had a moment of AARRGH. But I think it would make the room more open in the middle. I like the idea of putting rug under dining room tables to define area, keeping the room open. I like your idea of moving the desk to the other wall. Good job girl.
If it was my sofa, that chaise would be MY seat of choice.Unfortunately,if she switched it like you say, she’d be looking at the coat closet, not the television.🫤 I totally agree with the chaise being up against the wall, makes for a more open space. So ideally,if she wasn’t stuck on the desk being under the window, I would move the sofa all the way to the left,so that the “L” shape of the sofa, matches under the “L” shape of the windows.(CUTE) Then the table actually coming out from the other corner like a cozy bistro but not so looming. I would then place the desk to the right of the door, but with a large mirror over it,so that it could also be used for hair and makeup but would also reflect the light and scenery from the actual windows. The tall plant stand could go where the dining table is now and the present crate with a cloth and tray on top might even fit as an end table for the left side of the sofa. The result would be that when you walk into the apartment from outside or the kitchen, the biggest impact view is that awesome sofa, not tables with stuff on them. (And the rug to the right of the door under the desk and dining table zone.)
Hi Libby, I don't know if this idea will help you but it's helping me. I try to do one small area at a time, putting the items from that area to the areas that I want them to go. Yes is might take a wee bit longer but the end result is the reward. I suffer with 2 lung problems and I was finding it too much to do it all at one time. What I do achieve is better to enjoy with some energy than being totally wipe physically and emotionally.
I get cysts on my vulva mostly during my period but not always. It's from endometriosis. These are chocolate cysts (the debris is dark and oily, like chocolate, but with a sewer smell). There's nothing to be done since there's no cure for endo. I hope you heal quickly and well!
Lol not picking on you but across is not spelled or said acrosseT like you pronounced it. Just kidding you. The sofa looks so much better and open now. I love it!
I’d say just put the end table kennel at the side of the couch and the tower stand Idk. Sounds like the kennel is more important. The rug gets hung up so just get rid of it. It sounds like it’s more of a pain than what its worth ❤
Hi Libby- I love how you arranged the couch! I hope you get your health issue figured out very soon. Sorry you have some neighbor issues and I hope that gets resolved also. Have fun shopping for a tree! I love your rustic/cabin/nature inspired theme for your holiday decor. It's going to look fabulous and bring a nice cozy vibe. Have a wonderful week! Hugs and love always. 😊🧡🐦
Hi Libby, happy holidays Hun. Maybe you can pull the rug back a little under the couch. Maybe that will allow you to not have issues with the chaise. Keep going you're almost there🙌🙌. Take care 🤗
But I do have a single mom is making a special if I can for my kid so that’s what you could do just focus on him and what he wants. What kind of tree does he want things like that and that makes it easy If he’s happy I’m happy
I would say put the couch by the window that way you have more room to maneuver around because like I said I suffer from anxiety and depression and I don't like to feel boxed in
Do they do small crates that could go in the gap between the sofa and the desk? Then you could put a tray on top for a small tree, then it will be out of the way and make it noticeable when you come in the room.

I'm 75 and claim her as a 'courtesy daughter' even though she doesn't know it. 😁 She just makes me feel good when she shares life with us. 🎆🎇
@@dianewalmsley4800Love this,I’ve also heard “Bonus Daughter”.🤭

The lamp can fit behind the couch and the rug under the dining room set.
Looks great!👍🏾 😊
Love the sofa that way. Maybe move the rug to go under your dining area to give a seperate space vibe.
I agree with others who have said to put the rug under your dining table. It will define your dining area.
If you cover a tote box with a table cloth it makes a great coffee table or side table
Pole lamp goes behind your sofa in the corner. Serves as ambient & reading light, as needed. Out of the way.
Yessssssss! I said it too. About the couch being a divider for the office space! Yaaaaaa🎉🎉🎉🎉
The sofa looks great and you have so much space, yippee 🥳 Taking out the other stuff made a difference too. Slow and steady wins the race. Looking forward to seeing what you do tomorrow. Hope all went well with the doctor.

Now you can actually see it, it’s not such a small space at all. It’s going to be just lovely and cosy for you two.
The room looks soo much bigger and open!! I love it
Well done Libby. I can see all the thought and work you and Kelly have done to make it your home. I can't wait to see the results. ❤🎉😊
I LOVE THAT COUCH! And the living room looks HUGE!🙌🏻
I hope your doctor's appt went well. Super happy for you. I love seeing your progress. Thanks for sharing.
The rug could define the dining room/desk side of the room!
I was thinking the same thing
Yes good idea!

Mean this in sincere kindness -less is more
Too much stuff especially in the living room
Space in there would be so nice
.I love the couch there Libby. Good call. It's going to look so cute. I can see the vision.

A tradition that my son (9) and I do every year is a gingerbread house. They have them at the dollar tree this year! And gingerbread men!!!
I love that! We usually go to a friend's house to do them but they haven't done them the last few years so I'll have to do that 🥰💙
@SimplyLibbyt it's really fun!
My kids used to enjoy those too! Have fun!
Looks great, room looks so much bigger with your couch where you have it
The couch looks so much better in its new home. I can't wait to see how the desk looks when you move it to the corner. One step at a time...
It looks fantastic, and I love what you have planned for everything else xx
Looks great. Just a thought they have tv stand kennels. Also if you want you can put the rug under desk and dinner table.
That’s a great idea, Tracy, a TV stand kennel 😊
Oh that's a great idea! I didn't know they sold those!

like the new position for the couch , thinking also getting a piece of wood for the top of the kennel . Your doing amazing, one day at a time .
Even a large tray from the thrift shop.👍
I love this arrangement its really coming together ❤
I'm putting up like one or two decorations a day which cracks me up!
That looks Beautiful ❣️💐☀️
Libby put the lamp in the corner behind the couch or right at the end of the arm of the couch to help hide the cord
That makes a big difference. Each time you do something now; put a tote in the car, unpack a box and collapse it, pack the desk up with office stuff etc the impact will feel exponentially more. You are on the last leg with the room.

Good job 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉

get a tall gate for the kitchen and get rid of the dog crate altogether. or just use the crate with a tray topper as the end table.
Hey, it looks good!
I like your idea. And will you be moving the pretty art piece on the smaller wall , over the couch? By window.
Hi libby sofa looks so much better its really coming together now , you're doing amazing 😊
I love it!🎉 I have a pencil tree that I looooove! Such a great solution
Put lamp in corner on the end of the couch and center that decor on that wall
Use whatever kennel that you already have and just get a blanket and something flat to go on top of it
It is looking great, happy holidays 🎁🎄

❤

What do you think about scooching the couch closer to the windows that way you don't feel so boxed in when you're sitting right by the wall
The small space challenge is a thing.. LoL
Put your area rug under the table!!
The back of the couch in front of the window you know what I'm saying so the shades is alongside the wall maybe not touching but play with it a bit
I think you will have more wall spaceifyouput tho couch in the middle with the TV stand against the wall
You’re getting there! I LOVE the couch placement!
It's getting done little by little ❤!
Could you put the kennel under the tv?
Im feeling the same meh about holidays- all my family live super far and I didn’t even get to see any of them this year 😢
Sorry Megan. Sending you a big hug.
Put the kennel under your bed when you don’t need it and pull it out when you do. At least for now.
You are doing amazing. love your bracelet x
Pagan Christmas? Oxymoron! 🥴
Great progress!
Please go out from the house bring new thing made vlog out the house 😊
Bonjour à toi juste pour te dire que ton frigo n'est pas bien fermer
It looks UH MAZE ING! Curl up on that chase and watch a cheesy Christmas movie, you earned a break! ❤😂
Paganism is an actual belief. Not a Tik Tok Vibe, or Trend. That was kind of insulting.
6:33
Are you talking about here?
Because she’s promoting it, not insulting it.
