i've recently just discovered this movie, and i really fking hate it. it's so fking stupid and ruins my favourite disney character. i have a winnie the pooh teddy bear that grew up with me, i still have it right now and this movie straight up ruined winnie the pooh from me, i honestly despise whoever made this movie
South Park portrayal of Pooh is more respectful .
I find it ironic that A. A. Milne wrote the Winnie the Pooh books as a coping mechanism to deal with the PTSD from World War One, he was traumatized by the horrors of trench warfare and wanted to created a peacful whimsical fantasy world both children and their parents could escape to and briefly forget about the horrors of the real world.
So putting these characters in a realistic horror setting is literally the complete opposite of Winnie the Pooh's original purpose.
With that said, I'm still gonna watch it though, I'm too curious to ignore it.

This seems like the sort of thing you’d find in silly fanfiction written by teens, not official media. Not only is it illogical and unnecessary, but it’s going to make people’s childhoods feel violated!
Even if it is banking on the absurdity of its premise, I still think Rhys Waterfield is making a HUGE mistake. For his own good as much as fans’, he really needs to take a step back and realise what he’s doing.

The latter I wasn't joking & it's not a Rated M Toy Story bootleg. There is a stage where the toy cowboy has to save his girlfriend (who is forever in the "Look at my big butt" pose) from a demonic looking Sonic bootleg, which turns out to be a robot (and one of the controllers of said robot is voiced by Ryan Drummond, one of Sonic's earlier voice actors).

This is serious. There is a name for when this happens too an institution, it is called brutalized, brutalize, and brutalizing. It is disgusting enough when this travesty happens on TH-cam, butt now it is happening in real films. This movie despite everything is as far as I am aware, the offshoot of two evil men, Rhys Frake-Waterfield and his partner in crime Scott Jeffrey. I don't give a tinker's cuss if I have too campaign like this too the end of my days, I will do whatever I can too bring about justice too the country I love that will be forever rooted in my heart.
As well as a campaigner I am also a novelist of nearly a decade now, I started when I was just 11. In my latest novel that I hope too finish sometime in the near future I write about how a young boy's life is suddenly engulfed in heinous conflict, and the question is asked, which then becomes the moral too the whole novel, WHO HAS THE RIGHT TO BRUTALIZE, NO ONE HAS.
I've said before I shalt do whatever I can, and I will do anything for my country. I campaign for the greater good. I shalt campaign for this movie too be banned, now that I know it is an English film. I will do whatever I can to ensure that this film will not still be here in my son's day. I will make sure that these barbarous men will get what is coming too them, they will not get away with brutalizing the world's favorite bear on a barbarous level, the man made $2,000,000 out of this travesty.

It's not a remake of Disney's Winnie the pooh, it's a different adaption of the free domain source material. It's like American McGee's (actually kinda cool) version of Alice In Wonderland, Disney can't sue because they don't own the name.

@@MrWii000 Part of it is because they didn't invent the character in the first place and they made an exclusive deal to make movies based on him but the deal has now ran out. It's sorta like how Disney now owns the Marvel Netflix shows despite Netflix making them. Netflix made a deal with Marvel but It ran out and the streaming rights went to the parent company Disney. Winnie the pooh's adaptation rights have reverted to us even though we didn't make Winnie the pooh.

I hate to say it, but as someone who loved Winnie the Pooh as a kid and slasher movies as an adult, I kinda love this idea. It might be terrible based on the photos, but the idea is intriguing. But I'm also stoned right now, so that might be swaying my opinion. 😆 Still, if Disney was doing this I'd be totally against it. But an indie film taking advantage of Pooh entering public domain? I'll give them a pass. Next to another Phase 4 Marvel movie this sounds downright artistic!

After watching the trailer, it just looks generic. I never like Pooh, so the IP being dragged through the mud doesn't bother me, but I love horror movies. This just looks boring and uncreative.

I’m all for a good horror story, but at some point, you’ve got to realize that some ideas are just stupid and cliché, ruining any shock or scare value. If you want a REAL horror story that does the “childish thing being dark” thing justice, I recommend Fnaf and Don’t Hug Me I’m Scared.

Not everything needs to be art. There is place in the world for shitposting. This is a shitpost movie. We don't know how scary it would be, we don't know how funny it would be. I acknowledge the creative process behind it was probably "Hey Winnie the pooh is in the public domain. What if we made it into a horror flick, just because why the fuck not" but that doesn't automatically means it's worthless. Snack foods are still tasty, even if they're not classy dessert. The fact that this movie will most definitely have nothing profound, deep, or artistic thing to say about anything, does not deprive it from the right to exist. I can't defend the actual movie yet since I have not seen it but this concept is so stupid and weird, it very may be able to carry an entertaining movie.
Plus, I would argue Winnie the pooh, being one of the cutest, sweetest, cuddliest character in children entertainment is EXACTLY the right character for this concept, better than any loony toon (they already use excessive violence it's just adding blood) and most video games character (kinda generalizing but aloooooooot of them engage in some form of fighting already in their game). But Winnie the pooh? This literal teddy bear? Killing people and making it bloody? The irony alone could be entertaining.
Again this is all my opinion regarding the concept of the movie not the movie itself. If you read all of that thank you and have a cookie 🍪

At least Banana Splits had SUBSTANCE. I mean, the difference between this and that golden dark comedy is that the Banana Splits was a slasher, but carried themes from the source material.
In the original Banana Splits, it was all about creating chaos and entertaining the kids. In the movie, they took those themes and twisted them, literally making a mess of fun!
Besides, how do you carry the themes of Winnie the Pooh to a horror if wholesomeness is at its core? I guess you could make the movie be a lesson on not leaving your family for success. Actually, that would be pretty funny.
how is it that people can't even get a movie theme right but cartoons even can tackle darker themes without being too disturbing and still get their points across,e.g. ren and s timpy,adventure time to name some. There should be some sort of limit. a good example of something with a ''darker'' theme is david bowies's ''blackstar'' video ,some find it ''creepy'' but I find the dancing and the imagery beautiful. I agree, this is ruining the character of a beloved childhood bear. If A. A. Milne was alive now he would be disgusted with what they turned Winnie-the-Pooh into. Winnie is supposed to be a beloved childhood memory and shouldn’t be made into a horror film. This is honestly disrespectful to A. A. Milne and his work. Some people say this is what characters being in the public domain is all about changing them and putting your spin in them like the Robert Downey Jr Sherlock Holmes which was a different character to the original. However this Winnie-the-Pooh is the opposite of what A. A. Milne crated him for which makes to am abomination.
What I think they could do would be to have real killers wear a Winnie-the-Pooh mask and kill, I would be ok with that as then it’s not the beloved character killing. If they went down this route they would probably still have haters as people always have haters no matter what they do. But beloved Winnie-the-Pooh fans like myself would not hate it (I cannot talk for them all and many might hate my idea) but I wouldn’t.
I am late with this but I found just about this monstrosity today, and had to find everything I could about it to make sure: it’s real (which it seems to be), and if it if good or bad (bad very bad). All of this is my personal opinion and many people disagree with me and many people agree with me as that is what is great about the 21st century we get to make opinions known without fear from the leaders of our countries (apart some). I know I may come across as very mean a a jerk and probably a lot more, and I don’t want to argue as you have your own opinions and I respect that and I hope you respect mine.

To be honest, I will agree it is a dumb idea, but personally really excited, after all, back in 2019, a kid show got its own horror movie, the show being The Banana Splits, where they used the characters from that kid show and made them into like Fnaf animatronics in that movie and I mean it, the script for The Banana Splits movie was the original Fnaf movie script. Anyways while it was dumb, it became one of my favorites, so that’s where a lot of my excitement comes and we get two versions of Winnie the Pooh to watch! And my favorite kind of movies are horror B movies, but I can understand why you hate the idea.
