I will agree it is a very good rod. Used it about a dozen or so times. Only downfall for me is the handle. It is just too long for the type of fishing I do. It keeps the reel about 20 inches away from your body so if you have to hold while waiting to set the hook it gets heavy. The long handle does make it a little more difficult using a landing net while fishing solo. If they would cut about eight inches off the handle, I would be using one again.
You and I are opposites. I want longer so more leverage to fight the fish. If you surf fish you'll know what I mean. That's why surf rods have a long handle. It provides you with more power to fight the fish and casting distance.

@@stingzen82 Not really opposites just fishing different fish. I do not know too many catfish that are in the surf since this is a catfish rod.
