    A lot of expat here in Thailand always say negative stuff about the Philippines. idk why? because the Philippines is a new player and lot of people are discovering the Philippines. yes manila is not Bangkok and manila is not the whole Philippines. Thailand is more progressive than the Philippines yes because they start this mass tourism 40 years ago Philippines just starting to develop its tourist industry. food i say streetfood level food is better in Thailand and Philippines don't have a street food culture if you ask for street food in the Philippines they will say eat balut and btw balut is eaten in thailand too so. You can find rent cheaper in other cities but I'm not a guy gonna say but in thailand you get more bang for your buck that's so defensive and Thai baht is 26 to 1 USD and 58 peso to 1USD how did thailand became cheaper? i found out that cars is more expensive in thailand just watch CB media. English language Philippines by a mile specially the one that have bachelor degree Thai English is the level of street children in the philippines TBH. BTW philippines economy grew rapidly compare to thailand example is BGC they just build that city 20 years ago and its not just a few blocks its a city probably as big as cambodia capital. Nature i say philippines because one island beach in the philippines wipe out all the best beach in Thailand TBH. my final thought is Thailand is more popular well known to the western world more develope country. Philippines is a up and coming not as well known to the west except america but they have a lot of eastern expat than westerners. philippines is more laid back chill vibe than thailand party vibe.

      I agree with your statement. Most of these Thai bloggers have low views so the easiest way is to involve the Philippines in their content. Leave the Philippines alone. If you want to have your Western convenience, stay in Thailand. In fact, some Thai bloggers have moved to the Philippines for financial reasons, more views, and more $$$. In addition, Thailand is in mainland Asia, a contagious nation with no need to fly from place to place, north to south whereas the Philippines has 7,600+ with 2k inhabited. It’s a huge country with a big population.

      You are Filipino.. are you thinking too much? Thai people do not envy Filipinos. You just think too much. But I don't like westerners who like to compare these two countries. Thai people are friendly to all countries. You are friendly to us. We are friendly to you. So most Filipinos who come to Thailand are lovely. Let's make our home a place where we can live and be happy every day.

    • @pitakrupaman
      @pitakrupaman หลายเดือนก่อน

      Don't think too much, my Filipino friends. Make both countries a better place to live and develop. Let's support each other. Don't worry. Do your best today. It's just a moment. Solve the problems slowly and things will get better. Don't compare each other. It will make us uncomfortable. Thai people always welcome Filipinos. Let's be lovely neighbors and support each other. If Thailand can get through this first and become a developed country first, we won't forget you either. Or if the Philippines can develop further, don't forget our country. Every country has obstacles and problems that need to be solved. Thailand and the Philippines, we will be together.

    From experience having lived in both countries, Thailand is definitely. Some Filipinos must first leave Philippines to visit Thailand. They will know that is a reasonable comparison. They may not like that Thailand wins in many topics, but it's a fact that must be accepted and must be improved. Thailand is the same, whatever is not good must be improved.

      We all know Thailand is more progressive and the Philippines have more poverty but a lot of improvement and development going on they just built BGC 20 years ago they clean up pasig River and Manila bay and they have starlinK. Lots of food option you Donn have to eat local food. Actually only Manila have a bad reputation.

    Lived in Thailand and now the Philippines, I didn't find travel difficult in Philippines, definitely cheaper to travel than phuket, I lived in phuket and taxi prices were ridiculous, here on boracay they have e 8:01 lectric tuk tuks and are really cheap, they drive way better here as well, Manila is awful, but once you get out of the cities life is so much better and the people are easily as friendly if not friendlier than Thailand, extending your visa here is simple, you can stay 3 years before having to leave which Is way better than Thailand, you're right about the food though, too much American junk here. Plus with travel in Philippines you are having to go between all the islands, 7000+!

Majority of these farangs and expats are going and flying back and forth to Thailand and Philippines vice versa as they can't make up their mind. You will do the same thing too. Both countries have the same concepts as quality of life, nightlife and everything.

    Completely agree on all points. As you said, the only advantages of the Philippines are a slight edge on quality of women - I mean I would rank PH women as 9.5/10 and Thai at 9/10 plus in all likelihood they speak better English. But let’s be real, English is still a secondary language and theirs is not perfect esp. in the provinces.
    The reason why so many Americans seem to choose PH over other SEA countries is their (the PH) propensity to pander to American culture, while there is very little of that in Thailand, and their fear of communicating in non-English. Non-Americans are much more comfortable in dealing with the relative lack of English in, well, any country where it’s not likely spoken. All that plus the higher success rate of being in an age-gap (in actuality a financially-based) relationship seems especially appealing to the (mostly ex-military) American expat 😂
    One other factor in the Philippines favour is the ease of acquiring a visa allowing you to maintain residence for a longer period, esp. if the retirement visa seems difficult in Thailand (which it isn’t, but whatevs - that’s the perception amongst some). I would also give the edge on beach quality to the Phils, simply because there’s so many options and even though the best of Thailands beaches are world-class, there’s even more world-class beaches in PH.
    Everything else though I’d hand it to Thailand. The infrastructure, the food, the level of tech, healthcare etc. And the fact that it’s cheaper just puts it on a different level. I’ve no idea why, even with its few advantages, anyone would choose PH over Thailand. Maybe the best scenario would be to date a Filipina and bring her to Thailand, away from her family and all that 😊

      So what the thai advantage just maybe a lot bigger walking street bigger apartment internet Phil have starlinK cheaper idk last time I check 26 baht to 1 USD and 58 pesos to. 1USD I don’t have to pay expensive visa I don’t have to do border run. Food you have a lot of option you don’t have to eat local food. Infra they just build BGC ultra modern no eye sore spaghetti wires. Air quality a lot worse in Bangkok. Yet.its not to bad in here there’s a lot of eastern expats living here than westerners so don’t say that who wanna evenconsider living here.

    Good video. I been to the Phils. 18 times and Thailand 3x's the 3 only benefits of the Philippines is it's English speaking, friendlier, more Western and a few degrees cooler. Food is ok if you eat middle eastern food, Filipino food pretty ordinary and western food costs the same as in the West. I have retired in Bali as its cooler, the food is great , accommo cheap and very friendly people.
    Hua Hin would be my next choice or Boracay Island in the Phils.I have videos of all these places on my channel. Cheers.

    Haven't been to the Philippines for several years, so I hope all this has changed, but back then it seemed like every river you crossed would be littered with massive amounts of trash. That might happen in Thailand as well, but it isn't 'in your face' nearly as much. It also seemed like Manila's traffic was much worse than Bangkok's and the pollution in the city was also much worse. I always loved spending time in Bangkok even though traffic, pollution, etc. were not ideal... but I always wanted to get straight out of Manila as soon as I arrived.

    I won't rehash a lot of what has been said already. I have spent time evaluating both and I am retiring in Thailand in 7 months. It's a matter of personal interests if you prefer one over the other but when you just compare the big points, infrastructure, food, travel ease, immigration, sophistication, weather.. Thailand blows Phils out of the water to me. As for the women, it's a matter of personal choice. Pinays are easy as cake & Thais are a puzzle to be figured out. The icing on the cake is that Thailand is better but cheaper than the Phils, maybe a full 15-20% and if you are going to have to do visa runs, the Phils is a nightmare because there are not land borders only airplanes.

    George, clearly COL must be the top priority, then visa access. If you can't afford it, or can't get in the rest is superfluous. After that, healthcare, weather, in that order. Then as you state transport vis a vis infrastructure. As for women/partner et al. that's a bonus but truly unnecessary. The language barrier based on my experience with Filipinos and ESL as I have to had to deal with the US Embassy in Manila for the past several years as I hold a US passport and US pension even though I'm a Brit (NB that I have taught ESL) their English is woeful, not unlike India - they simply rabbit on at speed, don't listen and do not comprehend - if they would just slow down. My experience in Thailand is they are slower English speaking and listen better. Again, though this is way down the list of priorities. Great job!
