A few years back I had the unexpected joy of encountering Paul on a local hiking trail. he was alone just out for a morning stroll. Got to walk and chat for about 15 minutes and it was a wonderful experience. I think the key was I didnt go all Beatlemaniac on him just treated him like he was just another person I might encounter on a walk and I think I got to see a more genuine side of the person he really is.

James Paul McCartney died in car crash on September 11 1966. Brian Epstein with the consent of the authorities at the time and the three Beatles, he decides to replace Paul with a right-handed session musician named William Shepherd. Everyone involved, including their families, vowed to keep everything a secret. However, The Beatles produced over a hundred clues about Paul's death in their albums and images. William underwent numerous cosmetic surgeries to resemble Paul. I too was born in 1961. And I feel exactly the same way. I actually wrote a song about it these are the words:
I grew up in a simpler time if the truth be told
Not much entertainment but what we had it was gold
The first time that I heard them I think I was four years old
I fell in love with music it was the best yeah I was sold
Music changed me yesterday when I heard yesterday, I want to hold your hand and all my loving too.
What a time to be alive when the Beatles first arrived.
My friends and I on the living room floor, a giant speaker by the door
      It all felt so right
what a great time to be alive yeah yeah
What a great time to be alive
We had every Beatles album we knew every line
We each had our favorite Paul was always mine
Looking back it’s clear to see another Beatles there will never be
      We were living history
Back to “what a time to be alive...”
Just thought that we since we shared the same birth year you could relate ... i’ve never had huge celebrity crushes but I have to say Paul has always stolen my heart since that little girl. 😊

Have always liked John's songs the most. That being said, Paul doesn't get enough credit for his "behind the scenes" work that allowed John's songs like Tomorrow Never Knows to come to life. All those tape loops were thanks to Paul who was out and about in London discovering new things while the rest of them were living quiet lives in the country. And after Brian died....it was Paul who kept pushing the band. And of course the obvious things; great singer, great writer (Yesterday, I've Just Seen a Face, Paperback Writer, We Can Work it Out, For No One, etc.), revolutionary bass player (listen to Rain), and creative artistic force in the last few years. Thank you Sir Paul!!!! Without you....no Beatles and the last few albums would have suffered from lack of dedication. RESPECT to you sir....you are a LEGEND and immortal through your work.

Probably, one of the reasons why The Lyrics is a best seller is due to his intimacy through its pages. It wasn't just about his lyrics, his experiences and the context when the songs were created and released but also the chance to explore intimately Paul's life through his photgraphs who give you the wonderful experience of to know him as well as the original sheets of his lyrics and another things like drawings, notes... As James said, it's a very human book where you can to know more to the artist in a different but deep way.
A lot of congrats Paul for the book and all the staff who worked with you! You really did an amazing job and we really appreciate it!!! Xx

He’s added so much to our culture in a positive way and there’s not many others doing that. Thank you Sir Paul.

I will never forget the Paul McCartney show I went to in Dallas, TX in 2002. The show started with Hello Goodbye and not a single person sat down during the entire show. We were all just mesmerized at seeing Paul and I just remember thinking “ Wow! He is one of the Beatles! Great musician and looking forward to reading his new book, The Lyrics. I’m sure he has lived a very gratifying life and what a joy to see him so many years later still cranking out the songs. My favorite musician ever. Love you Paul! Thanks for the great tunes. I play 4 instruments because of you. Cheers

He & the Beatles are mystic travelers - superb super beings who are brilliant at everything they do, especially at spreading messages of LOVE & helping the morons among us understand what’s truly important.
No one can touch him! He’s Light Years ahead of all of us!

Although Paul doesn't need the money, it's a wonderful addition to the Beatles' canon. Classical composers notated their works but their inspirations aren't available. Paul's memories add form to the recorded material. I've always loved his accent, too. Like when he says song-g. ( And he was right about that Allan Klein creep! )

I'm 70 years old. Needless to say, as a Teenager, a instant Beatles fan. The Music has and will always be known as the Greatest in the History of ALL Music, not just Pop / Rock music. I have Purchased the Reissue / Remastered White Album, Abbey Road and now just recently Let It Be... Each has soooo much background, notes, commentaries, etc . , included. I also subscribed to the Disney+ channel, so that I could see Get Back, the new documentary put together by Peter Jackson. The documentary, with numerous reviews on line already, is the story of the final days of The Beatles. Clearly, Paul was THE driving force to dopimng and completing the "Project" and culminating to The Beatles performing their final in person Concert on the Roof top of their Apple Corp Studio bilding. Paul has done an inordinate amount of Interviews and it would seem this one if one of the best. Having said that, I think the Price for this book is ridiculous. It comes off IMHO as "milking" The Beatles. Yes, The Beatles Revolutionized Pop Music and a Generation. But I think, for the Older and the new Younger "Fans" , the book should be a sort of "Gift" to the public. Watch Get Back.....you will see the Genius of Paul, John, George and Ringo.
