Paul McCartney is my hero. I was 14 when he with the Beatles changed music and my life for the better. I still have my first Beatles 45 record, “I Want To Hold Your Hand. The following British Invasion played the soundtrack for my youth and life. I’m an old man now, a bit younger than Paul and in my retirement, I’ve taken my musical abilities, as modest as they are, and have begun to compose, play, sing, record and produce my own music, like Paul, only in the sense that I play all the instruments and do all the production myself. When people ask me what my goal is in doing so, I tell them that I want to compose a song so beautiful that Paul McCartney will want to cover it. Te amo senor McCartney!

I've loved the Beatles since I got their album "Meet The Beatles" for my 7th birthday. I saw him live in concert at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas in 2005. I have a framed poster of Paul hanging in my living room. 😁I'm looking forward to his new album!
Paul has over the years become very articulate and very polished in his descriptions and the way he presents ideas and feelings about art and song and living. It always is a pleasure hearing him launch and fly along effortlessly about the past or present equally well. He seems to be in the fluidity of the now, that strikes me as being very spiritual in a beautifully nice casual seeming way. Bless you Paul McCartney! Thank you for being you. Love You.

He is in line with Mozart, Beethoven. Eternal. It's like an obsession to listen to his music and interviews. So much insight & inspiration. Also, I admire his patience to answer similar questions over and over. Great interview.❤
I disagree. Wings were never the same band. Always changing members. It would be impossible to get them together to be there. They were never a real band. Their best album was Band on the Run...And it was only Paul and D. Laine. And Linda...but we can't say she contributed to anything musically. Besides, they were not that good, though Wings over American was fine. Paul recognize that. He said once. "Wings sucks". So Paul was really the only star...And He is in the Rock and Roll Hall of fame also for what he did in Wings.
I would give anything for a chat with Paul McCartney, the guy is the very embodiment of living history. And I love that he casually has Elvis Presleys Double bass just chillin in the background.
It seems to be if you get him laughing and dont gush too much or wax lyrical about him then he gives a much more interesting interview, i dont like Howard Stern but he gets good interviews out of Paul. Once you start asking questions like "you are so super duper amazing Paul, how do you do that?" Then you just get the same old comments and stories that he always falls back on and that is so boring
Excellent interview. Paul rarely has a chance to express his creative process in such a clear and self-reflective way in most interviews. Even at 78 there is such an energy and enthusiasm in answering questions and sharing stories. Always cool and classy.
Can you imagine if on that day in the 1950s when Paul asked his Dad if he could swap his trumpet for a guitar that his Dad said "no". Thanks Mr McCartney.

What an absolute fantastic man.... A true living legend... I had the pleasure of meeting Sir Paul in Chester (in the UK) in 2005. He was with his baby daughter Beatrice at the time. There I was in a relatively empty Tessuti men’s clothes shop in Chester on a Tuesday afternoon....and I walk into a hero of mine, Sir Paul McCartney!...I think he could see my surprise and delight at meeting him. Paul took time out to chat, was very relaxed and down to earth and introduced me to his daughter and was an all round decent, warm, approachable guy. A memory that will stay with me....... keep doing what you do Macca....
Must be incredible to know that long after you're gone generations will still be listening, studying, learning, and playing your music...not to mention learning the incredible story of the Beatles.
Great interviewer, gave Paul lots of room to express his thoughts. I’m not a huge Beatles fan, but I’m so impressed at how engaged and genuine Paul is in every interview he does. Class act!
So cool to hear him say that, 'You know my name, look up the number" has been a favourite of mine as well since I first heard it. Very Monty Python like in parts, just love it.
Paul was so brave to speak out after Bloody Sunday and write Give Ireland back to the Irish. The song was banned and he took so much heat for it. He's a great man
Paul you have always and still are a class act! You are the most talented singer/performer/writer/artist and my daughter and I love you! We are so blessed to be able to hear more of your music. You have been an inspiration to me since I was 15 years old when I discovered your music .God Bless you!

Superb Interview, Paul seems so relaxed and focused. I believe the Interviewer asked all the right questions. It gave Paul a timeline to work with and how his McCartney 111 Album came about. I heard some of the tunes and was very impressed!
Goodness!! When I listen to Paul speak it brings me comfort to know that he still loves music after all these years and loves to share his amazing talent with us. If you are having a bad day, his enthusiasm just makes it all better! Love you Sir💖
Zane does these so well. fabulous interview. Between this, all the other III interviews and in particular the long form interview with Rick Rubin, it's been a brilliant year for new Macca chat
Just ordered a copy of McCartney III after rediscovering some of the songs from the criminally underrated McCartney II. Just check out the song 'On The Way'. Genius track! Brilliant guitar playing from Paul too....tone to die for!
I have never seen Sir Paul so enthusiastic during an interview. Could it be that this was done during the pandemic that he was so glad to say hello world, it's gonna be alright eventually, just like in his song Let It Be. He's the forever optimist.
He seems quite okay in his own skin. He seems humble in the true sense of the word (humble is a kind of truthful). He knows he is big, he knows his music is good, but he is still just himself and a regular guy. Listening to him talk is just like listening to an interesting neighbor chatting over the fence. He seems just solidly him.
Paul is as young and brilliant as the first time I saw him The world is a beautiful place because of his presence in it We are all each one of us deeply blessed
My Daddy plays the upright and fretless bass he’s 80 and still jamming! Played with all the greats except for Beatles ... I’m so happy Paul still jamming too!! ❤️❤️❤️
I’m 57 years old. I have followed Paul since I was 5. I play guitar, piano, mandolin, drums and write songs, play in a band and record my own stuff for pleasure. All because of this man. My marriage values, parenting and ways I view others are based on my observations of this man. I have had the determination and joy of being able to meet him, converse with him and even be invited by him to visit his home when passing- although I have not followed through on this. This interview, in my opinion and based on 50 years of observations, both personal and through media such as TV and and newspapers, is the most warmest, honest and free-spirited level of communication I have ever seen. Total respect from the interviewer- knowledgeable, respectful and commanding. This is very apparent in the way Paul responds. Feeling respected, comfortable and able to free-form without any risk of being tripped up. Absolutely lovely.
I really love how the interviewer is asking Paul about his thought process and digging in deep and because he matches his energy so well we really get to hear what he was thinking behind some of these tracks and that’s so special! Most other interviews really don’t get that part right, and of course Paul’s natural charm and intelligence is so fascinating, this is just so lovely to hear! Paul really is a treasure im so glad he’s still making music

I'm a huge McCartney fan, this is one of the best interviews I've seen with McCartney. The one with Idris Elba was, woefully boring. Then, it was aired on the BBC that will no doubt have something to do with it, but the line of question here and how thoughtful Zane is - is fantastic and exactly what you want from the interviewer.
i really dig this interview! it's different than the ones we've been getting for the past five years, everyone seems to ask him the same questions. this one's more in-depth and loose at the same time. it's just funny to me though, @28:50 i wished they'd stay on that, i love hearing about macca's heroes and the stuff that lights him up, but the interviewer goes right back to obsequious praise lol. god bless him though, i'd probably do the same if i had the opportunity. much love to all, thanks for doing this! macca's so great, beautiful soul, beautiful music.

Love You.
Paul was always very articulate, fluid and polished in his descriptions, etc. You only have to watch the newly released Get Back documentary to see that.

Paul...I am Jane...Linda's riend at Vermont Jr College in Montpelier Vermont.. would like to share a few memories with you.
Wings should be in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame too...
Agreed
No doubt about
Very true! I had not thought of it. It is a shame that they are not there. Wings was an amazing band !!!!!
For sure, my favorite band after Beatles, Paul deserves to see that ,oh man I love those Rickenbacker bass lines sooooooo muuuuuuchhhh....
Paul is like that one grandparent everybody adores
Grand dude🥰
I would give anything for a chat with Paul McCartney, the guy is the very embodiment of living history. And I love that he casually has Elvis Presleys Double bass just chillin in the background.
Just come to England, everyone knows where he lives
it’s fabulous.
though there’s nothing casual about it. it’s carefully placed there and camera angle set up to include it.
if paul started a podcast, i would listen to every episode. i can listen to his voice _forever_
One of greatest interview I ever saw of him, so natural, a lot of interesting talk that Sir Paul dive in to it. Great job!!!!!

He did say no. Paul stole the bass and the Police have an outstanding warrant for his arrest.

Man has a MAGICAL relationship with musical instruments.
Hello Paul. It is so nice to see Paul McCartney so close and so simple.
🎶❤️
Left handed genius 👍just like me 🙈😂🤣🥲
Great interviewer, gave Paul lots of room to express his thoughts.
Me 2.
I agree with you 100%. It’s one of those kooky songs where you hear something different every time you listen to it.🤔
That’s the difference between being a casual fan and a super-fan. You really love and appreciate the lesser known songs.
Was it the B-side of his “Another Day” single?
@@andrekunkel1520 no, he actually wrote it back in 1967. While he was still a beatle. It was featured on the sergeant pepper album. :)
Even at 79 Paul is still coming up with new music and ideas...rockdown, brilliant.

Hello Pretty 💖
Zane Lowe is a Great Interviewer, he seems so comfortable, and relaxed while conversing with and asking Paul insightful questions and being an adult
