I have watched quite a few of your videos now and to be honest your reviews are great however Australia is a really big place and you could have done this for a very long time. It is really nice to see people enjoying themselves
There’s a famous dish extremely popular here, it’s a Chinese dish called Pipis in XO sauce. Not sure if you’d find XO sauce on Straddie or if the kids would like it - but you literally just cook the pipis in it. It has a mildly spicy umami garlic taste. Sooo good!
I've been to straddie quite a few times, can't believe I've never done that. that looks delicious. is it like a mussel , next time i go I'm going to try it though. you've inspired me
@@somefatbugger I was just wondering. We don't have pippies, but I know most thing in Queensland has bag limits, Good way to get caught is to you tube your sins LOL.
@@TheWickmansLife2024thankyou 😊. I hate seeing people take more than they'll use. I'm definitely a fisherman who likes to have a good feed of seafood but we need to use sustainable practices and not go ridiculous just because they are there at present. You guys are awesome. I really hope you might consider calling Qld home. The kids are so lovely 😊 and they are such a joy to see them having such a fun time out in nature
Have to be careful how many pippies you take in one go. I think 50 is the max and they do police it and fine you if you exceed the limit. It's to not lose the pippies population altogether from the beach. Edit: I checked, it is 50 per person so you're fine. I thought it was 50 per outing in total from memory but my memory isn't as good as it used to be.

is there a bag limit on pippies?
yeah, I just read up that it's 50 per person not per group at one time, which is what I thought I remembered it to be, so they are all okay here.

We were told by the locals 30 per person. We didn’t take that though.
Yeah that would not be cool. From what we were told we were doing right!

Glad to know we did the right thing. We were told we were good and trusted the source!
the colour has nothing to do with sex or taste.
