Daan Verhoeven Oh yes of course, I have never been deep diving but, is it to do with not poisoning your blood based on the water pressure.? But yeh a pure stone slab for the board, some stone carved chess pieces would be awesome to not float up, the knight could be a seahorse and the king could be Atlantis or Aquaman 😅
the water pressure at 100 feet is 4 times the atmospheric pressure, which means if you want to inhale 1 liter of air there, you'd have to suck down 4 liters of air from the surface, through a very long tube; you simply don't have the lung power. That's why they need compressed air or a compressor on top. And yes, you'd have to be careful when ascending, as the nitrogen you've been breathing might come out of solution if you come up too fast. The sea horse piece would be very cool, though!
I am constantly amazed at the abilities of humans and especially those who have the unwavering courage to adapt and train to do what they love. From Shaolin Monks who train and meditate every day for hours to free divers and soldiers. Determination and mindset is truly the most important thing one can master.
Thank you for making this video. It reminded why I scuba, why I desire to free dive better, and why I perform improv on stage; in the bright lights. Thank you.

I'm currently learning scuba diving.
The first time when I'm deep down in 16 meters I was still getting nervous even with my gas supply.
I'm so shocked after finish watching this video. Amazing. Will definitely try free diving someday!
scuba is lovely too, but freediving is a whole new dimension
I would love to play chess at the bottom, with a long oxygen pipe to avoid resurfacing,, awesome dude 😎
long pipe! This is at 100 feet deep - you'd need a compressor as well
Daan Verhoeven Oh yes of course, I have never been deep diving but, is it to do with not poisoning your blood based on the water pressure.?
Daan Verhoeven thank u for the knowledge and insight 👍
I am constantly amazed at the abilities of humans and especially those who have the unwavering courage to adapt and train to do what they love.
From Shaolin Monks who train and meditate every day for hours to free divers and soldiers.
Determination and mindset is truly the most important thing one can master.

Same. My heart is beating so slow underwater rn I think it sto-

Fantastic Brother! Love the message and the delivery. Keep up the great work inspiring others. Life begins at the end of your comfort zone.
thank you Styli - it was our pleasure making this movie
Thank you for making this video. It reminded why I scuba, why I desire to free dive better, and why I perform improv on stage; in the bright lights. Thank you.
👌🏽our pleasure!
I really enjoy looking at this, I will love to do it myself.
thank you - make sure you have a qualified buddy watching!
@@DaanVerhoeven OK thanks
Damn this legend respond to every comments , even months after the video was posted
Hahaha! Well, up to a point, but in general i figure if you took the time to watch the video and write, i can at least try and say thanks! (i skip the nasty comments, though)
so simple (for him), so peaceful. Thats great Daan, you capture the emotion (why we do freediving) and you make us forget the physical constraints :-)
thank you, Laurent! Love your photos!
@@DaanVerhoeven Thank you very much ;-)
Couldn’t imagine going that deep but i feel calm when im in there. I’ll drive that 30 minutes from swamp to coast knowing ill end up on the other end any time i can. Great stuff sir
What a beautiful video, thank you! I'm excited to explore my journey with freediving soon
glad you like it - enjoy your first course!
Amazing!
My reccord is 45m at Yokdzonot cenote. I almost black out and didn't feel my legs at the end. But is was beautiful.🙏🏽❤
All my deepest respect to you Sir. Real legend. Greetings from Sicily
Thank you!
Whenever is goto a swimming pool I've always loved that first jump in where you can hold your breathe way longer
This is the most beautiful video. It resonates so strongly with me. I started doing free diving breathing techniques because it seemed to reveal a connection between myself and some kind of oceanic ancestry. Holding breath for longer is the most incredible feeling of calm and oneness.
Thank you - yes, it seems to get us in touch with something elemental, so to speak
Great short film! Freediving explained, misunderstandings corrected, well done! (and good footage, as usual :) ) Stig, nice dive(s). Extra points for the safety, the buddy system mentioned. /my answer is: I like to be underwater/
Thank you Járay!
Beautiful, and I loved the narration! Thank you!
Thank you too!
Super nice. Short and to the point. Wishing you well and depth.💙
Thank you for the well wishes - or a deep well?
I freedove 35 feet in Hawaii and felt like I was about to black out when I was at the bottom. Is the black out due to lack of oxygen or the water pressure or both. My whole dive was less than 30 seconds and I did not feel out of air. What you do is amazing. Respect.
Black outs are due to lack of oxygen - which is why you should never freedive alone.
@@DaanVerhoeven Thank you.
great short film, it gives a great perspective to those who aren't familiar with the sport.
Thank you!
There’s no better description of being under water than this one - you’re soooo right, thxs 😀👍
glad you liked it!
Nice job Dan, Stig, Diana, Sun. You’re putting out a great message x
Thank you David!
Simply beautiful.... I wish you always have good friends and good dives!
Thanks, you too!
