I really wonder if wearing the helmet wasn't a mistake. Hitting the water at 123Kmh feet first, he was instantly decelerated significantly, compressing his spine. An instant later, as he was probably still traveling at a speed in excess of 80Kmh, that helmet became an instant "aqau-parachute", causing more rapid deceleration. This is a pretty smart place to jump. A.) You know its deep enough and B.) The waterfall is breaking the surface tension of the pool so the impact force is reduced. Turbulent water hurts a lot less than still water

Nice! He did it right…feet first, arms folded to protect your face from from splash, spread your arms after impact to decelerate. Great job dude. Enjoy the record!
It all depends on how you land and breaking the water surface. Cliff jumpers very often throw rocks in before they jump to break the surface tension. I've gone off some pretty high ones, we used to have a spot right next to a waterfall where u jump from aways above the waterfall and end up falling next to it. It was around 60-70 ft. Measured with rope. So give or take some ft. The turbulence after landing was very intense. I can only imagine what this one would feel like.

“It’s not the fall that kills you, it’s the sudden stop”
My Grandfather
God bless all of you in Jesus Name Amen
The view from his perspective is just inconparable to watching it.
This guy is completely insane...and yet I envy him.
This is a skydiver without a parachute:

1:24 falling for 4 seconds! Poor Loki!
3 and half seconds felt like a lifetime to me, man's done solved cold fusion and the life equation by the time he hits water. Mad props.
I'd walk up the the edge, look down and be like "yeah nevermind."
Come back when your doing this with a back flip
"In general, a person falling through the air on Earth reaches terminal velocity after about 12 seconds, which covers about 450 meters" Keep it bellow that, m-kay?! Insane stunt, happy he landed and survived!
Ok...so 449 meters we good?
@@cheaserceaser Can recommend 🤣
@@konsul2006 Records are meant to be broken. You won't be hitting water at terminal velocity.
Nice! He did it right…feet first, arms folded to protect your face from from splash, spread your arms after impact to decelerate.
Great job dude. Enjoy the record!
At that speed it must feel like landing on concrete. Amazing he didn’t break a list of bones.
It all depends on how you land and breaking the water surface. Cliff jumpers very often throw rocks in before they jump to break the surface tension. He didn't need to though because the water wasn't still. Essentially if you can jump from that high and land a perfect pencil dive then you will be fine 😂😂 but there is pretty much zero room for error.
@@Utodyssey Yup if you panic your dead or seriously injured
I jumped from 4 feet with eyes closed.
That hug, those eyes closed, he appreciating him while he could...
I once jumped from the 5 meter and burst both my eardrums. This is insane !!
I'm impressed he jumped with all the climbing gear on his hips. I imagine that metal slamming against his body felt like someone took a hammer to him.
I was thinking that. seems like rib breakers
😬 I can't even go 3 rungs up a ladder without freaking out a little.
He survived because before he hit the water he transformed into a totem of undying.
this jump was 192 ft. golden gate bridge is 220 ft. people who jump off that bridge die 99% of the time. let that sink in.
I like how everybody read the comments and decided the jump they made as a kid had to be between 75-85 feet to keep up with everyone else.
I had a mini panic attack from the camera looking down view. 😩
Respect ✊ I could never do it ……looking at it from standing at the edge of the board waiting to jump shows how scary it actually is there didn’t seem a lot of clearance there when he hit the water
Good on you for the uncut sequences!
"... if we listened to our intellect, we'd never have a love affair. We'd never have a friendship. We'd never go into business, because we'd be cynical. Well, that's nonsense. You've got to jump of cliffs all the time and build your wings on the way down ..."
what the hell is this guy on about? lol i listen exclusively to my intellect and have plenty of friends, a fulfulling marriage, and have been pretty successful in business. i just don't want to jump off a fuckin cliff, i think it's cool that you do and i'm watching the video but why do you have to judge the rest of us for not doing it?
I’m scared to step off the curb
1:10 just got the worlds biggest enema.
What's really amazing is that his big giant Ko Jones, could fit on that little platform with him!!
Nice jump. In Scotland we jump off cliffs into the sea. This is higher. Respect brother and peace.
The guy that invented the "Mute Button" should have a National Holiday named after him.
Bro you are a fing beast and truly a BOSS. Keep on sending 🤙
I have always enjoyed cliff jumping. It's a pretty popular summer activity where I live.
Dá-lhe Brasil !!!!! Grande Laso !!! Parabéns 👏👏👏
Esse cara é brasileiro? 🤔 😳
@@nickrodriguez3850 é sim !!
The first-person GoPro footage had me thinking ‘no no no, I don’t wanna, I don’t wanna’ even lying here under the covers. 😂
Phenomenal camera work!!!
Amazing! The highest I've dived from is a cliff some 12m high (like a 4 storey building) near Torre dell'Orso, in Salento.
And I had my glasses in one hand, otherwise it would have been much more difficult to climb up the cliff after the swim.
0:43 - I had a minor heart attack as I thought about standing on the ledge
Crazy, I wouldn't do it. Total respect regardless of the height it was way higher than anything I would consider for me. I am biased because I think Rick Winters first ever attempt of 172-ft high dive was more nerve racking for me.
And he did it in a Speedo with two flimsy knee braces.
This dude is tough as nails and even HE was in some pain after that. I could do this too.........once, then I'd be a carcass.
Wouldn’t even jump that with a parachute ffs
By far, this is the coolest mentos commercial.
👍😆
That took serious guts, but to call this a dive isn't exactly right. It was a jump, not a dive.
1:10 He almost had time to reach terminal velocity, that's crazy!
When he exited the pool he said "I forgot to take my belt off"
I once hesitated to jump from a 5-metre height at my local bathing place in Sweden, and I hesitated for so long that all the visitors there started cheering on me to jump.
Then I jumped after like 5-10 minutes, and everyone was like "YEAH!", lol.
At 1:55 He said hold on i think i shit my pants
One of my former fire fighting buddies decided to jump in some water off of something about a decade ago and hit the back of his head on something. It paralyzed him and he has been living in a home that cares for people ever since. Also unrelated he lost his main house he lived in a fire last year that his kid was living in.
That water hole is plenty big but wow it looks TINY from that height. That alone is terrifying
Did a few cliff dives last time I was in cypress, Beautiful county and a beautiful ocean 🌊
He forgot to dive. Looked a lot more like a jump. But I would not have even crawled to the edge of the board on my belly like a snake to look over the edge, so who am I to define what dive means.
