In the video there is a vizualization of a downforce and it is described visualy as something coming UP of the rear wing. Gut reaction: I don't hate the styling so that's an improvement over the P1, but I think the Senna looks better because it has Star Trek TNG vibes. The nose on the W1 looks like a Mazarati MC12 but I like the back end, the super spoiler instead of a wing is weird but I just saw a video discussing how 90% of "wings" on cars are stalled and actually just produce drag so I guess this is a good decision.
Great looking car, but the lines are broken up by too much black trim at the lower body. The P1 had a much more seamless and sculpted look, that was really hard to do again
I think it looks great, but there's 2 problems with it imo. There's too much visible carbon fiber, i think the carbon part on the door should be painted aswell as more of the front end. And like i said, it looks good, it just doesnt feel like a Mclaren too me. It has some Mclaren elements, but it just looks like a random new hypercar
I m sure in person this thing is stunning and like 90% of it is beautiful to me, I m just not a fan of those headlights. Too generic. I know the logo headlights have been used a lot but my goodness the P1 looked amazing w those lights. The rear of this car is the best part and the top (overhead view)
Looks good , not sure why people dislike it. Sure the P1 looks good too but trust me there were a lot of haters initially but later on it grew on them , same goes for the Senna
Some kiddos been saying all the McLarens look the same even though they do NOT. But when they come out with a completely new design language people say it looks ugly. I understand that p1 looks better than this. But this is a new era in hyper/super car design. Compare the new temerario, revuelto, tourbillon, f250 with their predecessors. I think this will be a good looking car when time passes.
They set the bar extremely high with the P1. A truly timeless design. W1 will have to chart its own path but what I'll say is it left a much better first impression than the Senna, Sabre, Artura and even the Speedtail. They all just felt...stale. This feels fresh to me and kudos to McLaren for that. This feels like a new era now
the only thing that would have made this look cooler is if they blacked out hood behind the front vent. also would have been better if it was named the McLaren M1
In my own opinion I don't think this is perfect successor to the p1 It looks like successor to the senna but obviously it's a beautiful beautiful car Weldone mcLaren
The W1 looks brilliant. A more mature design than the P1 which was the worst looking of the Holy Trinity. The W1 looks perfectly proportioned and the headlights are so much better than the P1’s. I wish they’d given us proper double barrel taillights rather than the LED strips which even hatchbacks and crossovers have nowadays. But overall, a beautiful design.
It’s interesting. This is the first time in a long time Porsche has not stepped up to introduce a car alongside the other manufacturers. They’re still a few years away while McLaren, Ferrari and Bugatti all have cars dropping this year.
Looks kind of like something you'd see in GTA. On screen it's too "rectangular" (track isn't wide enough compared to roof height) to have that hypercar stance; it looks like a super sports car, like it's above a GT3RS but not an 918 Spyder. Also a missed opportunity to put the Solus engine in something road-legal; at this price point you'd expect something unique over an engine which has been in multiple cars in one form or another.
The P1 is so much better looking. It even doesn't come close. A car like this needs to own a looks to die for. But this is missing unfortunately. When we see the inside, again it doesn't come close to the interior of the P1. The screen in the middle looks like it has been glued to hold. It is a missed opportunity. I think they will have difficulties to get them all sold. The speed and power does not solve the limited looks.
Not sure where you live, but the L.A. Auto Show is next month, so hopefully it's there for us all to see! I'd actually like to see you do a design comparison between all 4 halos - the F1, P1, SENNA, & W1 to see the evolution of the brand & language. Personally, I'm P1 all day... it's something about the design; reminds me of Darth Vader on one hand, & a childhood game I loved called F-Zero lead car the Blue Falcon... something about the "swooping" curvatures. & that noise... the P1 has a more pronounced bass about it's exhaust than all other 4.0L TT V8s saved Mercedes. Me? I drive a 2017 Mercedes GLE 63s of the w166/207/212/222 era with the M157 TT V8
How old are you? Those cars come no where near this in power, class, powertrain and most important Price. This car spanks the P1 in specs and obliterates the 720, 765/ 750 in overall performance.
@@labounti old enough. But I’m speaking strictly of the styling. It’s not just me, look at the comments. But I’d hope that whatever does replace the 7-series has at least more power than the Revuelto and Temerario.
Mclarens whole thing has always been they are a little understated. You look at say, a 765LT in the flesh though, and it is stunning - the sculpting of the front end is just a thing of beauty. I did see the W1 last week at MTC - it is understated for a 2 million hypercar, but when you look at the detail its breathtaking. That kind of thing just doesn't come out in video or pictures

I feel if it was all painted in one color I’d like it better rather than this black and orange. It looks aggressive and different from other McLarens which I like better than the senna but not as good as the P1 which is one of my all time favorite looking cars
it has also the same doors as the Mercedes C111 , beautiful as well ❤
Below the headlights and where the sidepods meet the main body are too busy, the front end is somewhat generic, like the Temerario. The rest is so cool.
To me, it looks like the ultimate version of the 720S, which is not necessarily a bad thing. It looks quite purposeful and has some great angles,, It's not as organic and smooth looking as the P1, but much more so than some of their recent designs. It's more like a curvy road car that has been set up to race at Lemans. Overall a very nice look. I bet it has a lot of presence in person. The driving experience is sure to be mind blowing.
What is really odd, that somebody as Mclaren missleading...they know..but missleading. In the video there is a vizualization of a downforce and it is described visualy as something coming UP of the rear wing. BUT downforce is created of a curve DOWN of a wing....only while braking an up plate is working. Interesting that somebody as Mclaren is missleading about this.
Ah, I’m sure it was just an animator making sure it looked cool and overlooked the details
@@Alejandro_BoniIIa I know, it is probably the case, but still. Mclaren supposed to be those "engineer's brand" in automotive, to give us those nerdish things. But anyway....it is minor thing.
@@draso19@10:00 I believe the graphic is showing the effect of the underbody aero and large rear diffuser on the airflow under the car, simulating how it reduces lift, not a simulation of downforce. The effects of downforce would be shown with airflow above the car and interacting with the rear spoiler. I may be wrong 🤷♂️
This much power with one electric motor is incredible
Great looking car, but the lines are broken up by too much black trim at the lower body. The P1 had a much more seamless and sculpted look, that was really hard to do again
McKaren nevera
this is what the new hurcan should have looked like in the front
I think it looks great, but there's 2 problems with it imo. There's too much visible carbon fiber, i think the carbon part on the door should be painted aswell as more of the front end. And like i said, it looks good, it just doesnt feel like a Mclaren too me. It has some Mclaren elements, but it just looks like a random new hypercar
Tbh I needa see it in a solid color with jus the ground effects in black cuz I think I would like it more.
I think the W1 is absolutely stunning, where they failed was the front lights. They're way too plain for McLaren hypercar coming out in 2025.
It’s a lovely looking car which will end up being legendary in terms of looks. It looks to me like a LaF and P1 got it on.
Looks incredible, probably better looking than the P1 in my opinion.
P1 is still their best and most beautiful
It looks so Generic... Looks like a GTA 5 car, Senna didnt looked good but at least it didnt look AI generated
The W1 looks like a cross between the McLaren GT and the Sienna with a bit of Sabre.
Does it have 4 quarters of a cylinder arranged in a w formation?
It looks like something Dubai would make.
It’s awesome love the design and details!
100 % beautifull car , reminds a little the mercedes c111 ..., wonderful piece of art and mechanical expertise
Du sprichst immer genau meine Gedanken aus ❣️👌🏼
Ich bin zwar kein Designer, aber Auto Mechaniker ❕😅

I thought it was a p1 successor but it’s a Senna successor in 720 silhouette.
This feels like a new era now
just realized the w1 looks like the rimac nevara
Yeah 😂👍😮😮
It looks good. But the P1 felt special. This reminds me of Venom F5. With Mclaren desgin elements.
the only thing that would have made this look cooler is if they blacked out hood behind the front vent. also would have been better if it was named the McLaren M1
The lack of the McLaren curve for the headlights and two tone hood makes for a really disappointing front end
In my own opinion I don't think this is perfect successor to the p1
It looks like successor to the senna but obviously it's a beautiful beautiful car
Weldone mcLaren
This is as close to perfection as I've seen a hypercar.
Yeah I've got to say I like the design. And I think it will look epic in real life.
Is it just me, or does it look like the Chiron and P1 had a little too much fun and made this?
The speed and power does not solve the limited looks.
they are all already sold 😅
I just like the headlights.
Please start doing the Re-design videos again, those were fun.
I would love this as a 720/765/750 successor. As a P1 successor, it’s underwhelming.
Yes and the 750s looks better than this.
Don’t care what anyone says, this W1 is actually fire in my opinion
I agree
As do I. And that shade of orange certainly helps the case.
Then why need to comment tho
Your opinion is correct

the rear of this Mclaren is crazy its amazing
