ARR & Hariji - What a combo, and what a timing of their entry into Indian music!!! Great legends, perfectionists, and humble in nature.
Both like experimenting and improvising! AR sir, as usual, identified the talent/unique “silky” voice of Hariji in the beginning of his career and used him perfectly in songs, background alaaps. We are so very lucky to hear several gems (songs) from these two masters!! There are few ARR songs only Hariji can do justice. His style of soulful singing, pronunciation, improvisation/sangadhi’s, emotion is very unique and truly mesmerizing! AR sir enhanced those qualities in his compositions.
It’s very rare to see a singer who has contributed in such broad spectrum of genres. Wish and pray to hear more of their combo songs in the future..

Harahan is a mature singer in ghazal, semi-classical and classical. So when he says ARR accepted his style instead of making it a Rehman style, it says a lot forARR being open to new ideas and styles. Excellent episode!

Dear sir. Thank you very much. What you say is absolutly true. Most artists are very inclusive in their approach. Mr. Rahman too accepts an artist with all dynamics and variations. Regards.

Happy Hari sir narrating his experiences. Hari sir is an intelligent singer. Knows his art inside-out. Brilliant Ghazal singer so his diction across all north languages is spot-on. Looking forward to his next episode.

Oh, the magic and brilliance of this mesmerising singer still haunts me! He's one of the best classical singers and the best thing to happen to film music and one of the finest and fondest associations to ARR music esp. during the magical 90s.
It's only after singing for ARR songs he became hugely popular in film playback singing. I think till then he's best known as Ghazal singer and Indi pop artiste even after working with several famous music legends since 70s.
The greatness of Rahman is he didn't try to change the original style of Hariharan or make it sound filmi as per the 90s trends but he took on from there and gave a new dimension to filmy melodies. Soon Hariharan sir was embraced by many music directors esp in South. He's melodies used to be very prominent on many albums then and he's a regular with Arr. He's one of the few singers I really enjoy listening to even in an Arr song. There are so many ebbs and flows in his singing that you love listening to repeatedly. And with ARR melodies, his magic 'is endless on a vera level!
He definitely is one of the country's best singers and though we know a lot of things about ARR, we still love to listen them when legends speak and that's what I feel is the soul of this whole series. Thanks for covering him and more to listen from him.
    P. s: Cover songs instrumentals are great than vocals. Pls go for more instrumentals. Thanks!

Dear Mr. Srinivas. Thanks once again. Accepting an artist with his/her style is a unique trait of Mr. Rahman. That's why he managed to introduce so many new singers. You suggestion about using instrumental versions is noted and communicated to our team too. We will be working towards it. Regards.

Rahman is a masterclass of perfection and detailing. You would wonder how he at this stage of his career can bring out refreshing tracks like Dafa Kar from Heropanti 2 and Simtaangaran from Sarkar. 🧡 Very odd sounding songs but catchy as hell as slow burning sensation.

Just play the original songs instead. These covers sometimes doesn't have the same magic. Hariharan's Tamizha Tamizha was something more special than the Hindi dub or these cover versions. Try to play the original song in its original language. I am sure you won't play Thaalam songs instead of Taal now would you.

Interview is good but when mentioning the credits, you have to put the right names.
For example, Bombay is the movie originally from Tamil, by a Tamil director and Tamil music director, so you must put the Tamil lyrics writer name instead of P. K Mishra or something. If the movie is made in Hindi originally, you can mention the credits from the Hindi side.

Dear sir. Thanks for your suggestion. Allow us to clarify:
In most of the cases... rights to songs in different languages are owned by different music companies. We get permission to use songs... with a clause... that the language we use...we have to credit... lyricist, and singer' of that language.
