    Cast Members aren't losing the magic.
    Entitled guests are ruining the Magic....

      No, a lot of time guests just expect a lot of cast members which is fine. There are some cm’s who do however lose sight of the impact they can have when onstage.

      Cast members are just tired of entitled disgusting people being rewarded for bad behavior, which nowadays has become a bizarre Disney Tradition btw... people there love the parks, but are humans. They have limits. And when someone is expecting "a spiritual fulfilment for their soulless beings", rather than just a great visit to a great park, expectations just get a liiiittle bit too high. Lol. Disney "fans" nowadays are IMPOSSIBLE TO PLEASE.

    Some of the responses to that trash can tweet ENRAGED ME. There’s a bin every thirty-odd steps in Disney parks. The problem isn’t the custodians not doing their job, it’s the ass-hats that can’t be bothered to hold onto their rubbish for ten more seconds. A very much needed video 👌🏻

    Cast members should always be “magical” yes, but on the other hand guests are getting more rude as time goes on so I put in my 2 weeks at Disney & my last day was this past Sunday. I loved working for the company but as a teenage girl who can sometimes get attitude, I realized Disney wasn’t really the place for me to work anymore.

    I know one of the "friends" of the Frozen girls in that photo. She is one of the most professional performers I've known in DLR, always make the time for every guest no matter the age. Makes me mad to see someone put her down like that on something out of her control.

    I also think it's tricky because guests sometime expect that extra Disney magic is getting things for free, so basic kindness and good customer service often is perceived as not enough by guests who want a fast pass/free mickey bar or whatever. On the other hand, there are also guests whose day is made if you are genuinely interested in them and helping them have a good experience. On top of it all guests often justifiably stressed out about spending $115+ per person to get into the park for the day so they have to have an ideal day which very often just isn't going to happen because expectations are too high.

    • @emilyswanderland
      @emilyswanderland  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      And so many people make videos now about how to get things for free and trick the system!!!

  • @chloeworrall

    I do think that there is an issue with some cast members not being particularly polite. But there's people like that in every workplace, in every country. Just because you paid god knows how much for a park ticket, does not give you the right to completely ruin someone's career. There isn't anything to gain.
    Disney is a household name, so not only are you jepardising someone's livelihood, but you are also taking away the magic of Disney itself. By buying a ticket, you are not paying for someone to give you the greatest experience on earth with rainbows and butterflies. But you are paying for an experience in one of the greatest parks in the world.
    You have to remember that the cast members don't make up the rules, nor do they choose what job they have to do. Nor do the characters get to choose their outfit. They just do what they're told, and do not get paid enough to have abuse hurled at them. In fact they do not get paid to get harassed and bullied in their workplace.

    My thing with the overflowing trashcans is: people see that it's full, and still try to shove more trash into it. Don't do this it just makes it harder to clean up later. I'd just wait for another trashcan that was less full. I just try to think about everything. could be something going on we don't know about. I think people have lost the ability to be patient, understanding and kind to one another. or have unrealistic expectations and that's why this sort of culture exists.

    • @MeeaCaroline
      @MeeaCaroline 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I've watched people do this. In rooms with several trashcans, sometimes two right next to each other, they still choose to overflow the one that's full instead of checking the other that's literally a step away. I don't get it?

    • @simonthedemonprince7026
      @simonthedemonprince7026 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Seeing how the trash was neglected like that, I only assume all trashcans in the area were like that, and probs a ride that won't allow food and drinks

    • @CourtneyLICI0US
      @CourtneyLICI0US 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree especially the fact that Walt Disney specifically made trash cans exactly 30 feet away from each other so if it’s full the next one is most likely 30 feet away

  • @Aksfl440
    @Aksfl440 4 ปีที่แล้ว +8

    I completely agree. People forget what brought them into the parks. Positivity and inspiration. But instead it's a loop of forcing their child onto a character (when the family before hasn't even said goodbye.) Or talking down to others for their outfits/merchandise. It's extremely ironic.

    I was furious by the frozen costumes, not because of spoilers or styles.... My problem was the quality of their costumes, elsa especially. In the movie she had a gorgously animated dress that did not translate to their interpritation. I do not blame the cast members forced to wear the designs at all, if anyone it was the design team dressing them making non flattering designs.
    Edit: my intent is not to be pessimistic. Its just if disney wants to maintain their standard, they need to hold everyone accountable, including behind the scenes. The face characters blue elsa dress looked elsa and even in pictures you can tell they felt like elsa... This new look is confusing and in pictures so far, you can tell queen anna looks confident, elsa just looks uncomfortable and like she doesnt properly know how ro play off her new upgrades yet.

      I think this is what she is saying though. You were “furious”? Like that’s a strong word for something that doesn’t really affect your life all that much. Unless you are in costume design or a seamstress I don’t think you should be “furious”. They’re just dresses. Like them or don’t like them. 🤷🏾‍♀️

    • @3xand3r49
      @3xand3r49 4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      i have worked in theatre and costuming. Also work with conventions. Im cool with individuals working with what they have got and making do with very little, but for a large company, it doesnt even look like the dress in the movie. The techniques used were basically just to cut stips from a solid fabric when the source had no cutouts and was shear. Its sad and a disregaurd to the time and art that comes from making a dress.

    • @audreyleeyoung
      @audreyleeyoung 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      But it actually made you furious? Aren’t there more important things? And Elsa’s dress looks like it’s growing off her skin in the movies. Lol How can anyone realistically make that? It’s like asking the actresses to have giant eyes like the animations. They’re doing their best.

    • @3xand3r49
      @3xand3r49 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Laxrually yea. I was furious when i saw it and im still very mad by it. Everyone is allowed to have their opinion reguardless to how unimportant or silly it may seem to others... And sometimes those seemingly unimportant frustrations are the tip of something much more...
      I dont owe people explinations but im an adult autistic... Frozen has been my escape and a major interest for the last 6 years... For others its silly disney fun, for me its having a safe thing amungs a very cruel world not designed for you.... So yea, im alowed to be mad at seemingly silly things andstate why... If you dont agree, you wont change my mind so just move along.

    What you said in this video can all really be summed up with the word: Privilege. People who get upset about cast members and know about cast compliments are often able to afford many trips to Disney. I can't tell you how many times cast members get reported to guest services for literally doing what they are supposed to. Please remember to be kind to cast members, so that they want to come to work and be kind to guests as well.

      Lonnae when I worked at Disneyland one year the conditions during 4th of July weren’t safe for fireworks and I remember we were all told like 30 minutes ahead of time (i was in stores) and we were even told to remove our name tags before the announcement because people were going to lose their minds over it and in the past guests had been known to rip off cast name tags and turn them into city hall to file a complaint on them

    I love this video, Emily! I LOVE that you're starting this narrative because this is something that definitely needs to be discussed. Especially now, in the age of social media. I agree with everything you've said! However, just to shed light on the flip side, I think there's a bigger issue in terms of pay, benefits, leadership rather than simply having a "bad day." A lot of the connotation surrounding the Walt Disney Company is changing and in turn the demand of Cast Members is changing. I understand that each CM chooses to work for the company but as someone who just transferred from a role I loved to one of the biggest/newest lands on property, the magic has really lost itself due to the above demands. I definitely think personal life leaves at the door but some of these changes make it really difficult to be the type of CM you want to be. :) Again, I loved this video and thank you for starting the conversation!

    I've lost all my love and respect for the Disney Corporation in general. Years ago Disney actually gave a damn they have become only concerned with greed constantly raising their prices. They price out the middle class it's actually cheaper to go to Europe from United States then it is to go to Disney World. Disney overwork their staff. I was offered a position with Disney to do plain clothes security. Walt Disney Company informed me that you had two weeks to pack up your life and move than you train for two weeks and are given a test if you score a 79 or lower did you not have a job. Essentially they hire you to give you an opportunity to work for them that's insulting. They expect people to move there with in a two week period to have a chance to work for them. You also must be available 7 days a week 24 hours a day. That's just a disgrace. I no longer support Disney because learning how staff is treated at least from the security side I don't know how it works anywhere else in the park

    As a cm who loves working for Disney, sometimes it’s hard to be nice to everyone just based on how rude guests can be. That doesn’t mean I don’t try but here’s an example, I was working at an ice cream shop in Hollywood studios, literally had been work there for 30 minutes, I went to hand out 2 apple pie sundaes, being new there, I thought they came with whip but the guest didn’t want it. I called out I have 2 apple pie sundaes, no whip, guest starts yelling at me, no one said no whip, I’m like um ok, do you want whip? No one said no whip & I don’t know why you have 2, we only ordered 1. Obviously this one is for someone else. Luckily the lead was right there & saw I didn’t do anything & she took care of it. But he could’ve went to guest relations & got me in trouble even though I didn’t instigate anything. I still give a kid a sticker, or wish people a happy birthday , I’ll give a guest a free drink on their birthday or a cake pop . But there are people who treat it as just another job & as a result we all get lumped into that group. A guest the other day started complaining he was a pass holder & wanted the Mickey ginger bread straw discounted, we literally can’t, the computer won’t let us. He said he paid $3000 for an annual pass & we couldn’t reduce a $4 straw? I could on & on about rude & entitled guests but this is long enough!.

    I was at Disney world this October and truly many cast members were rude without any reason for it, I felt like I couldn’t even ask any normal questions like directions because nobody cared and they felt interrupted, it was rare to meet nice cast members there, and in general feels like the parks are going down in some aspects like crowd management and obviously Human Resources, I’ve been many times to different Disney parks and was very disappointed this time.
    I think it’s the management’s fault, either not picking right people for the job, or treating them not great (like salary) in ways that cause the cast members frustration from the job.

  • @alliewatches
    @alliewatches 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I didn’t want to agree with this, but I do, at least to an extent. During my last trip to WDW in October, I got a saber from Savi’s early in the day and didn’t have a chance to take it back to my hotel until after lunch. I ended up going on Slinky Dog Dash, RnRC, and ToT with the saber. Because each attraction has different guidelines for how to handle large and oddly-shaped merchandise, I made sure to ask a cast member what to do with the saber both at the entrance to the attraction and just before I boarded the ride vehicle. Every SINGLE cast member I asked was very dismissive, crass, and irritable when asked that question, even when the answer was as simple as “place it at your feet” or “we can hand it across this gate and you can pick it up when you get off.” It almost made me feel ashamed for having bought the saber because I felt it was getting in the way of their job, and I was relieved to be leaving HS that afternoon just so I could get it off my hands. I can understand cast members being frustrated with a rude guest, but there is no reason at all to behave that way to a guest who politely asks a simple question when it is your job to answer those questions.
    That said, cast member cancel culture isn’t right. There are still SO many cast members who bring the extra magic to the parks; one group that comes to mind from my last trip is the set of Kevin handlers in AK who play around with her as she roams. They were so patient with guests who wanted pictures and made sure to keep the crowd controlled in a fun, gentle, and kind manner. Rude cast members are the exception, not the majority!! But because Disney World is such a positive, magical place, the negative employees tend to stick out like sore thumbs.

      Hey! For future situations like that, they have Package Pick Up where you can ship merchandise you have bought in the park to your Disney Resort or the front of the park so you don't have to carry it all day! Just go to any store and ask to ship your items, even if you bought it from another store.

    I had already seen Frozen II on November 20th, so the plot point at the end of the movie that could be spoiled by the costume change wasn't spoiled for me. But I do feel like this plot point is important enough not to spoil it so soon. So I thought about the costume change for a while. The costumes are the last costumes Anna and Elsa wear in the movie, so I'd consider that as a reason to choose these costumes. However, if I think back to when only Frozen was out, Anna wore her travel outfit instead of the last outfit she is wearing at the end of the movie. I'd say that choice was made because she wore her travel outfit for the most important part of the movie. If the same reasoning had been followed in choosing the new costumes for Frozen II, Anna and Elsa would have been wearing the same outfits they wore on all the promotional material, and no one would have complained about it being a spoiler. So in my opinion, the costume change should have resulted in different costumes. But that's just my opinion, based on the pro and cons I can see. Maybe there were other reasons why it has been decided to do the costume change as it has been done.

    I would like to point out that some cast members aren’t helping out with this either. For example I was at Disneyland 2 days ago and I was at the castle buying some princess themed ears. The cashier lady was arguing with a woman because the woman wanted to make sure the pen she wanted had ink in it and the one the cashier was arguing about was barely working but she still was trying to sell that to her. She snapped at the guest and said if she didn’t want it she could go to another store. And when I went up to get my ears she was mean to me too. So there are cases where maybe they shouldn’t be working in the “happiest place in the world.” Especially beside the castle where there are children.

    Emily, thank you the video, we have been going to Disney for over 20 years now, and I have definitely noticed a decline, in how cast members talk to guests, and their mannerisms, the worst thing we have noticed, is how they are chatting and ignoring guests, they seem far more interested in chatting and laughing, this really shocked me this year.

    This was so wonderful to hear about Emily. I agree with everything that you are saying how CM’s are not treated with respect. For myself who is becoming a CM in just under a month for the first time I want to be able to spread that magic for people even though I know it is going to be hard some days. You make some excellent points here. I have had some bad experiences with CM’s that is normal they are just human. Disney is a place for people to have fun and escape reality not to complain about the things that they see CM’s do. People pay a lot of money for a Disney trip and it should be an enjoyable time not one to complain about if something does not go your way or a CM did something that you did not like. Just be grateful for being able to go on a Disney vacation not many people can afford to go on one.

      Emily’s Wanderland haha! I did used to be a performer at a smaller park- maybe that’s where I picked it up 😂. I had just went to WDW for the first time since I was 7 (I’m 23) and my mom kept telling me I was meant to work there lol. I always thought about like all through high school I used to consider doing the DCP, but like it kinda seems anxiety inducing to me because I’d feel like I was walking on egg shells the whole time and I already have a weird complex where I think I’m gonna constantly get fired (for like no reason lmao) so I feel like I’d be a ball of anxiety lmao.
      But I don’t know, I’ve been considering it again. My grandpa used to be a head engineer at GE in the 40s-70s and Walt Disney literally went to his house to have dinner and I’m like OMG it’s meant to be. I don’t know 😂 so conflicted

    I visited Disney world for the first time in October. My husband and I were so excited... we planned the trip as a distraction after suffering a miscarriage. So needless to say we were sensitive but we definitely had a couple of run ins with rude cast members.. one at a photopass op in the Morocco pavilion. I mistakenly ask if the photographer at the fountain could take our photo, she ripped my head off and chided me for my manners. And I informed me only if I said please might you take my photo... I was appalled. I literally didn’t know if she could take photos with cell phones since I had never been.. and instead she ripped me for using the word could ... and once in oga’s cantina.. we had a really bad experience standing at the bar... we spent $30 and only stayed 10 minutes because a bar tender was really rude. It was the most disappointing points of a otherwise great trip. We fortunately had many great and even just good experiences that out weigh those two..

    as a former cast member at EPCOT I can say that those trash cans in France are a result of Food and Wine. It becomes a problem because there are too many people to get the large trash trolleys through the thousands of people so the trash cans near a food stand will get BAD! never mind that trash cans are no more than 30 feet apart. The cast members in a different land is HUGE no-no. I couldn't wear my Future World costume in World Showcase. The bags however are not an issue. There was no way I could get from Costuming to my location and not bee seen with a bag if I had on that day. Oh yeah and most cast members are paid around FL minimum wage. It has gone up in the past few years but it's still not really a living wage

    A lot of people think if they are negative and angry than Disney will give them freebies or upgrades. The have bought into the whole "the customer is never wrong" myth, and are angling to get more.
    Quite frankly, apart from one very negative experience, I have had, on the whole, positive experiences with CMs. I am a recreation therapist, and I saw the CMs go the extra mile for children who have special needs. I can't remember the name of the character who is in charge of Royal Manners etc from Cinderella, anyway, this CM who is "friends" with her, took the time to talk to a girl with profound Cerebral Palsy. The girl was non-verbal, but the CM took the time to listen to her vocalizations, and to interact with her. I was very impressed. She engaged the child physically, by kneeling to her level with the wheel chair, she interacted with her verbally, and you could tell that she was also reaching out emotionally to this child. I wrote Disney about her. She was *ah-maaaz-ing*.
    A CM went out of his way to give my daughter a "magical moment" to meet Anna and Elsa. I can't begin to tell you how much it meant to me to see my daughter so happy and excited, and it turned a great trip into something wonderful. My wee girl had had a very tough year, and this trip to Disney was an "escape" for a bit, and this CM, without knowing what my little girl has been going through, totally made her trip. I wrote Disney about him as well, and gave him a "Thank You" card when we went back to the MK a couple of days later. You might not get the "freebies" and upgrades from passing on compliments, but it is worth so much more than that. Sooo, to all the CMs who put their hearts into their job, and do it well, with integrity and excellence, I want to say "Thank You".

    This just randomly popped up in my suggested but I’m glad it did. You’re right about everything. I can’t stand when people complain about costumes. 🙄 It happened when Jasmine’s got changed as well. The dresses are fine. Even if people don’t like them, does it really need to be a big dramatic thing you tweet about? But more importantly, people just need to be kinder to one another. On both sides. Cast members ARE getting ruder. But so are guests. As someone who visits the parks often I see it coming from both sides. It’s just the human condition unfortunately.

    As a former Cast Member dating back 35 years, I am SHOCKED at all the negative things I hear about WDW, and Disney as a whole...
    In my day, I NEVER hear anything other the PRAISE.
    Something has defiantly changed to end with this result...
    I go to WDW every year, and there are MANY times I am angered by what I see taking place with Cast Members...
    I am extremely tolerant understanding circumstance, and I find myself at Guest Relations LOGGING the Guest Complaint at least once each trip...
    The problems are numerous, and not totally on the shoulders of Cast Members that you see on the front lines...
    It must stem from above, and the MAGICAL EXPERIENCE is NOT for Guests alone...
    A Cast Member is experiencing the most amazing part of their life, and will hold those memories made until their dying breath...
    The Cast Member Experience should be one nurtured upon INSPIRATIONS from many factors, including interactions from Guests, from the Management, AND from FELLOW Cast Members themselves.
    The never ending price increases and up sells, bundled with cuts and up sells has resulted in a more demanding Guest...
    Fast Pass created an imbalance among Guest Experience, as PRIVILEGE is distributed at the expense of others, and this has feed the attitudes of Entitlements....
    Frequent announcements of record PROFITS are released in effort to encourage Stock Investments driving values up, and result in Cast Members feeling used and un appreciated on the low rung of the ladder, squeezed for hours, and trying to survive making a living...
    The FOCUS on MONEY has no place with being a Cast Member....
    It should be a time of WORRY FREE SERVICE....
    Service just the same as serving in the Military...
    An HONOR to represent the MAGIC that IS Walt Disney World...
    And that Service should come with the respect and admiration of the secular world...
    It ONCE was the HIGHEST HONOR to be a Cast Member at WDW...
    I carry my Badge of HONOR all my life, and I CONTINUE to be thr admiration of the World.
    I would love the opportunity to RETURN to my Iconic Position from my Cast Member Days at WDW... And I would do my BEST to plant the seeds of Magic for those Cast Members there today. Which were planted in my heart from the early days of WDW, yet still live on and flourish within me...

    So as a cast member, I’m going to say that none of this is true. Cast members can only do so much. I worked at an attraction that didn’t allow food or drinks so our trash can always got extremely full very quickly. When there’s 50000 people in the park you can only do so much. Also guests are not nice to cast members at all. I used to get yelled at that pirates was down and I was in Tomorrowland. And guests will lie to people to get free things out of it. I’m not saying I can call them out. But after 6 hours of working to make guests happy that are never satisfied with anything and you know that your small contribution doesn’t really make to much of a difference when the guest is having a bad day, then it’s really stressful. We’re human beings. We aren’t perfect but we’re trying our best for you guys.

    Another problem as a CM that we face, I work at Starbucks & we get incredibly busy. Really the only time we get to interact with a guest is in register but leads will look at our customer count. I once got talked to because I only rang out 32 guests in an hour. So we become conscious of that number & we then try to hurry guests along, which I feel is wrong, we can be quick & still be friendly & inviting. Plus that number of guests per hour can be misleading. If I have 5 or 6 guests in a row ordering 1 drink, my guest count will be higher than a CM who has a whole family ordering drinks & breakfast sandwiches.

    Being a current cast member I can’t agree more with this! Disney is supposed to be a place where you go to forget your troubles and just have a wonderful time. Guests will never be satisfied with anything unless it’s free or it’s exactly what they want.
    I also agree that Cast Members are loosing the magic. I have had many times when I’m a guest and have a not so pleasant interaction with a cast member and I can’t help but think “If you really don’t like your job quit!” Yes we don’t make a lot of money, yes we work long hours, yes we deal with stupid people all day, etc, but without us there would be no Disney for those wonderful guests that we do get to come to and make magic for us.

    Saying that seeing the new outfits for Frozen 2 is spoiling the movie is ridiculous, especially when people have been seeing the new outfits for months in posters and teaser trailers and on the dolls at toy stores! 🙄 I know there are some people who try to avoid all those things but seriously it’s in every picture of them and doesn’t tell anything about the plot. Also if you go to meet Anna and Elsa especially right around Frozen 2 release you should have expected Frozen 2 content! If you’re avoiding literally everything Frozen 2 including how they look then don’t go see them.
    However I will say that I was honestly shocked when I saw the quality of Elsa’s dress, but I kept it to myself. In pictures it looks like something you would get at a cheap halloween store, I have no idea why she looks like that when Disney costumes are usually such good quality. Maybe the fabric looks better in person but Disney KNOWS that people are going to be taking lots of pictures while meeting them and that they need to account for that, they aren’t clueless. I would NEVER say that that’s the CM’s fault though! I hope they make Elsa a better dress and don’t blame the CM ☹️

We go up to the cast member and ask and she just goes “ well he looks tall enough” and my dad just goes “ but he’s not” and she never measured him and just told us we couldn’t because he’s tall enough so I went with my little brothers and my mom had to miss the ride but other than that every cast member I have ever met has been super nice and kind

    I agree that people shouldn't be rude and personally attack cast members or anyone, really, and there's really bad people on the internet and in the parks. HOWEVER Disney nowadays is a company that only listens and does things for money. The prices keep rising and the quality not only doesn't go up, but it goes DOWN. I love the Disney parks, but I'm not from the US. It takes me YEARS of saving to be able to go, and my expectations are very high because I dedicated months and months of my life to be able to experience the Disney magic...it might look like small issues for you, but it counts a lot for me. I'd be upset to see those trash cans. The Elsa and Anna costumes are not good (and that's not the performers fault!) and if a single CM would be rude to me in a trip, it would ruin the whole experience. We SHOULD be allowed to complain about those things, because if we don't, Disney won't listen - "oh, no one cares, they will keep paying, let's do nothing about it". We're paying a lot for this. If it were free, then I'd agree. I know the CMs are not paid enough, but as a guest in the park you can't do anything about it, you're just expecting the service you paid (a lot) for.

  • @stinkbot115

    I agree with you on a lot, but at the same time I do feel like cast members have lost some of the magic. Last time I was at wdw, there were cobwebs in all of the corners, and it was not infrequent to see trash cans like that. I'm not necessarily blaming the custodial cast, I just know that it hasn't always been this way. Plus, there were several times when cast members were actually rude to me/my family for no reason whatsoever. And while I don't think they should be fired for that, we did talk to leaders about a few of them because their behavior needs to be corrected! Cast members should be nothing but kind, cooperative, and efficient and that's not what I've been seeing recently.

    I wasn’t completely feeling the costumes for Anna and Elsa when I first saw them, but that is not the friend’s of those princesses fault. Just because someone might not like the outfit, doesn’t mean they should slam the princesses themselves. It’s not fair to say “they look wrong”. Kindness is so important!! I am not a cast member. Disney is just another money grabber from us “guests” the prices for us going to any of the Disney parks has been going up and up and up, next year we’re expecting another price increase. Guests pay more so they have higher expectations that’s normal.
    Cast members had to literally sue and had the city of Anaheim at Disneyland get involved in order to literally force Disney to pay their cast members $15 an hour. Cast members’ pay isn’t going up like our guest prices have. They are being fucked sideways by the Disney company. A cast member died in her car because she was homeless.
    We’ve all had jobs where we feel underpayed but have to keep it to survive. In my opinion a company/theme park that makes sooooooooooooooooo much money should NOT their employees sleeping and dying in their cars because they can’t afford a studio apartment.
    Attention guests in Disneyland and DCA I am an annual pass holder and if I ever see or hear any bullshit coming from your mouth toward a cast member I personally will walk over and tell you to fuck right off.

I understand it was partially my own stupid fault for not meeting Captian Marvel one of the other days but the other thing is for the first day my flight didn't land til 1pm to SNA & I flew from St. Louis which was a 6 hour flight. Also when I was in line for Jack & Sally only one cast member talked to me the other one just ignored me & talked to the other people behind me in line so I felt like that was a little shady & also when I was in California Adventure I asked a cast member if there was somewhere I could charge my phone & he said they don't have the portable charging stations anymore (I brought my own but the rod died) causs I knew they wanted me to buy a $30 rod from the parks & my phone was on 10 or 15%. Luckily not all the cast members were like this & I understand the crowds were high cause it was Halloween season so they get stressed from dealing with all the bullshit & they get tired but there's no reason for them to be rude.

    I think you eluded to it, but didn't say it outright. What you are seeing is not just at Disney, rather it is a new culture of entitlement across all areas of the US. I paid for this and I am the most important. I am sorry that this is destroying the magic for some

    I completley agree, cancel culture is horrid, this is partly the fault of the people putting them on blast, but also the companies for taking, in my opinion, an extreme response! I hate this culture at the moment where everyone is given no chances and is never allowed to defend themselves!

    Disney over all has lost much of it’s magic during Bob Iger’s tenure, so it’s not surprising if that’s happened to the CM’s as well. Especially since they don’t get the pay that they deserve or enough praise and support from the company top.
