I have seen characters pass out at Disney. Usually in parades. From what i have seen, they catch the character before anything severe happens and get them backstage asap. Sure they would never unmask in front of guests but I ‘ve seen character attendants scream at guests to move because of an emergency like that.
First thing to do is saying "Have a nice day" to the cast member at the entrance. They see hundreds of people pass all eager to get inside and, well, CM's are people too. I mean: they get paid but it doesn't cost me anything to wish them a nice day and I think they enjoy it (I know I do when it happens at my job). But past the entrance: I usually go for a FastPass. I'm European and Paris has old school paper passes you need to pick up at one of the 9 (yes, just 9) attractions that uses the fastpass system. Skipping an hour of waiting in line that way is always fun... Good luck on Monday!
@@olivia_simone They have a few, but most of them don't use fastpasses. Most big rides use the system but some like Phantom Manor (our Haunted Mansion), Pirates and Crush's Coaster don't.
The first thing i do is stop for a moment and try to take it all in and enjoy where I am, then I usually head to one of my favorite rides. Thanks for the videos!
This is so crazy, the whole list is a bit insane but the part about cast members signing away their right to CPR? It would be more traumatic to the kids to see a character/costume actor actually die than to see there is an actual person inside the costume recieving medical attention.
Good luck! I have to admit, even being a CM (now retired) I still tend to take pictures first when I am a guest. I will become a child again and totally enjoy the magic! Many times I would go and just people watch and enjoy the background music.
Olivia Simone it is definitely a perk of being a CM or annual passholder, not having to worry about seeing everything in a few days. I used to love getting a fruit platter ( I don’t even know if they still have them, as this was years ago) at EPCOT and sitting on World Showcase watching everything and relaxing. It is why I love doing DCL cruises, as you are forced to disconnect from the world and enjoy the cruise.

You are such a sweetie, can see why Disney wanted you in the college program, you are always so bright and bubbly. I always make a plan the day before to avoid ques. So normally it is big thunder mountain, haunted mansion, pirates of the Carribbean. FYI I'm in the UK so usually I'm at the much smaller Disneyland Paris. Only been to DW Florida once.
The first thing I do when I walk into the parks is grab a map and program schedule. Then head off to ride rides! Great video, lots of laughs! "Please don't chuck your baby...."! Lol.
Lysm 💕💕 and the first thing we do when we get into a park is take pictures and stop by a shop or two. However, the first thing I want to do is stop at a restaurant or go on a ride
First Aid is always done behind scenes where guests could not gather but no we did not "Sign our souls away nor were we EVER refused first aid/medical treatment if we needed it. Was it hot - yes, we showered several times a day normally back at residence.
Which makes sense! Backstage is so close no matter where you're at in the park so it's logical they would try to move it backstage to avoid any hysteria!
First thing I do at Disney World is bee-line to whatever ride I want to go on most but couldn't snag a Fastpass for in the app. But both times I've been to Disney *Land* someone's always in a wheelchair and it's off to Town Hall first! Lol. Total coincidence.
Last time I went to disney I was 15 so... almost 10 years ago. And I always went with my family and they love to plan everything beforehand and follow a schedule to the T. So... we always just went in to go on the 2 or 3 rides we wanted and then we ate at the park an left. I wish I had more freedom back then to just do whatever and explore.
When I first enter a park, I briefly soak in the ambiance including the view and the music. And then I head for a ride. Definitely ride a ride. Having taken CPR/AED training a few times at work, I can understand why Disney would want to shield cast members (and guests) from the eyes of the public while using/performing those activities. I have seen a large legion of cast members form a human shield/wall/ring around an area where it seemed like an EMT was doing something (as a means of providing some privacy and to provide needed space for the EMT and patient). That makes sense and hopefully they would do that rather than wait to pull someone backstage in an emergency. OR, maybe rather the guideline is that if a person has a choice, rather than leaving a person in trouble to get an AED and bring it back, please take the person to the nearest AED, ideally backstage; although that still might not be the best choice, but I'm not a doctor or paramedic. And I have not worked for Disney. On a happier note, good luck with defending your thesis. You now have much experience talking about things you know on TH-cam, so my personal advice would be to do the same with your thesis defense. Just treat the time as an opportunity to talk about things you learned, things you know (on topic, of course), and try to anticipate what questions you might be asked and be ready to answer them. (Was it hot inside your costume? Go adults and children think alike or see the world in the same way? Talk about recognizing grief? Or Denial? Do the castles in the Magic Kingdom and in Disneyland look the same?) Slides made a good backdrop, but try not to read them. Just talk from your heart and mind and lead the conversation and try to show what expertise you have gained. At least, those are the sorts of things that have helped be in college and as a working professional. (Also, not everyone uses the same style, different things work better for different people. So hopefully you can find a style that works for you.) Oh, and I totally get your frustration at people saying "Disneyland" while showing pictures of WDW. Totally proper to point out and correct in a Disney focused conversation. That's a sign of you knowing things and caring about accuracy and the details. And that same attitude (as long as you keep it friendly) might be useful in a thesis defense. After all professionals need to be able to disagree or present a dissenting argument in a useful way.
My family and I are huge Disney fanatics! Each day, we visit one park. The night before, my Dad asks everyone in the family which attraction, show, etc. they feel we MUST see while we are at the park and he makes a “game plan” for the next day. We get on the rides and get fast passes for the rides we want to ride over and over. My Dad likes to make sure we hit every attraction our family members want before we leave.
That's such a good idea!! My friend and I did something similar when we went to Nashville - told each other our "must do's" so that no one was left out!
Yes!! It’s such a great idea to make a list of all the things you want to see and do before you leave (: The last time we went on a family trip to Disney was in summer 2017! The hardest part of the whole trip was getting to ride the Navi River Ride and Flight of Passage, but the wait was so worth it. I have no words to describe Flight of Passage!
I love early dining admission for character breakfast! I got lucky one time and ran into a Photopass photographer who was kind enough to take my family’s picture in front of the castle when it was empty.
when ever i get into the parks i get a map, even though i learned the parks by heart, and then i go straight to a ride, usually i go to the ones that would have really long lines later in the day.
Great vid! :-) I think the first thing I have to do is have a family picture taken in front of the park icon. Although, the first thing in the first park has to be a churro. It's impossible to find one in comparison around here.
As soon as I got into Disneyland I would get a boysen Apple freeze and either a cheddar garlic twist (from Maurice’s treats) and go to the smoking area and enjoy a marlboro with my freeze and cheez bread. Dope combo 😁
I defended my master's thesis a couple months ago! You're going to do great! Take your time answering questions, and it's okay to say you don't know something!
First thing we always do is take a picture with the metal Mickey on your way into the park it’s become a tradition now😂 Also legit if face characters earned $310 per hours I could just work an hour each day of the week and be good
Also wanna tell you I’m going down to do the dcp for fall (hopefully I still go lol) and ur video on the app process was the first one I found a few years ago and it helped me so much! So thank you for inspiring me to do it and giving so much info to help :)
My family aren’t huge theme park people, but we love the competitive aspect of it. The first thing we do is get on the ride with the shortest line. True story: my dad had an app that would constantly refresh and tell wait times, to optimize efficiency. I’ve only been twice, but it was fun and felt like a strategy game.
The first thing my family and I do when we get into the park is probably go to the bathroom 😂 we kinda have this inside joke bc every time we get into any park my mom always has to go to the bathroom 🤣. Other than taking a bathroom break we make sure my sisters are all set sitting in their stroller and we head to our first fast pass
First thing I did when I got to Magic Kingdom was weep tears of joy! But first thing I did when I saw this video was want to know where you got your tank top! Would love to rock one myself. Good luck for your thesis defence!
Magic Kingdom has a way with creating strong emotions hahaha I actually got it when it was the 45th anniversary of Magic Kingdom! I bought it at the Emporium
Disneyland is my park, so normally when I start off I go straight on the train, over to Fantasyland, then ride Small World. BUT because I have yet to see Galaxy's Edge, I would probably head over there first :)
Galaxy’s edge is so amazing! I’m not a huge Star Wars fan, but I still enjoyed it a lot! It was pretty warm when the sun was out because it was made of concrete. I will say, if you want to be able to ride Rise of the resistance, you need to get in line really early for rope drop. I’m not joking, when I went, I got in for rope drop. They have a digital queue, and it was full within 10 minutes of the park opening. So good luck when the parks open.
Awww you put my comment at the end 💕 I loved this video and I always thought the face and costume performers got paid the same, you learn something new everyday! The first thing I do when I go in the parks is go and eat breakfast at a buffet because me and my family love breakfast buffets and usually have one in a park or resort ever day! I love you so much hope your doing well 💕💖
Magic Kingdom- First thing I do is take in the atmosphere, watch the street performers. Hollywood Studios- Making a B-line to Runaway Railway, pretty much my most watched ride-through since this all started. Epcot- Enter through International Gateway to avoid the maze of construction, get some coffee and maybe meet a few characters. Animal Kingdom- Take in the atmosphere, then slowly make my way to where the DuckTales characters are.
The first thing my family does is ride the ferry boat to magic kingdom and then go to adventure land and ride pirates of the Caribbean and jungle cruise!
the first thing i do is take a stroll down mainstreet, pass through the castle, and then take a ride on one of the classic fantasyland darkrides! i love the old darkrides with all my heart
The first thing I want to do when I get to Disney is go to Cinderella's castle and find somewhere to sit and enjoy the dream. My favorite museum room in all the world is Colleen Moore's dollhouse, located in the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago. The doll house is Cinderella's castle. I spent many happy hours there when I was little. All these years later, the castle in Disney World is worth the trip and the time.
Once I did that with my family and we still waited 5 hours 😅 I think the people working the line messed up though because there's no way it should've been that long!
My family goes to Disney park, what is the first thing we do? Make a round-trip from Main Street on the train. Partially tradition for my family and my brother is special needs he loves the train. One time my paternal grandparents took me to Disneyland just to ride the train all day long. This was when the ticket price was a lot cheaper like 20 years ago
"Indocteration"? Not in 1987 either. Everyone goes through Orientation but that's with all jobs, especially Themeparks. The only two things they stressed were Punctuality and Cleanliness. If you want to work for Disney, you are part of the Cast. I loved the time there and still very much miss my Disney family both there and in Canada in 95 with the Disney Canada Merchandising Team.
My family always gets reservations for Be Our Guest Breakfast an hour before ropedrop so that when we finish eating we can go get in line for Seven Dwarves before the park opens
When we first enter, my mom pulls us aside and explains all of the fast passes we have to get to and reservations and that we are not allowed to complain. P.S. I love your shirt and hair! They are so cute!
So I go to Disneyland park. The 1st thing I do is that I like to get to gates like 45mins before the gates open in the morning, and then after rope drop, I always have to be the 1st one on Alice in wonderland... I always make sure to see what time Disneyland will open up in the morning to determine what time I would need to get up, to make sure I am at Disneyland park gates before it opens up in the morning.. that's always my tradition when I go to Disneyland park
Ideally, the first thing I do when I get to the parks is just kinda chill, take it all in, and get some photos but it's usually something along the lines of "oh we overslept and now have ten minutes to get to the back of the parl before our fastpasses expire go go go!!"
As a current performer at WDW I literally died laughing at so many things wrong. $300 more an hour for face? HAHAHAH. not allowed to ask for help in an emergency? DAFFY duck?! they need to fact check my god
1st thing to do... When going to the Magic Kingdom... Haunted Mansion!! (Go left... never right! Pirates and Haunted Mansion are our favorite rides, so always nice to start there)
Good luck on your thesis. First thing we do when we get into Disneyland is go to Starbucks. While we are waiting in line, I will send one of the kids to Space Mountain for FP. After that, head to Splash Mountain before the lines get long.

So hopefully you can find a style that works for you.)
Oh, and I totally get your frustration at people saying "Disneyland" while showing pictures of WDW.
The first thing my family does (at MK) is either rush to Seven Dwarfs Mine Train or Peter Pans Flight! We typically go to the parks at rope drop lol
Those would both be good to get on right away!! I love your profile pic btw!
@@olivia_simone Thank you so much!!
I love early dining admission for character breakfast! I got lucky one time and ran into a Photopass photographer who was kind enough to take my family’s picture in front of the castle when it was empty.
oh my gosh that's so awesome!! That's a good idea actually to schedule a dining reservation for early!
when ever i get into the parks i get a map, even though i learned the parks by heart, and then i go straight to a ride, usually i go to the ones that would have really long lines later in the day.
that's smart to go to popular rides first!
Great vid! :-) I think the first thing I have to do is have a family picture taken in front of the park icon. Although, the first thing in the first park has to be a churro. It's impossible to find one in comparison around here.
Sounds like a great start to the day!!
As soon as I got into Disneyland I would get a boysen Apple freeze and either a cheddar garlic twist (from Maurice’s treats) and go to the smoking area and enjoy a marlboro with my freeze and cheez bread. Dope combo 😁
When I first get into a Disney park I would love to first go to rope drop and go to the rides and then eat!
That sounds like a fun day!
I defended my master's thesis a couple months ago! You're going to do great! Take your time answering questions, and it's okay to say you don't know something!
Thank you for the advice!! And congrats to you for defending yours! 😄😄😄
First thing we always do is take a picture with the metal Mickey on your way into the park it’s become a tradition now😂
Also legit if face characters earned $310 per hours I could just work an hour each day of the week and be good
Also wanna tell you I’m going down to do the dcp for fall (hopefully I still go lol) and ur video on the app process was the first one I found a few years ago and it helped me so much! So thank you for inspiring me to do it and giving so much info to help :)
Ahhhh CONGRATULATIONS!! My fingers are crossed that the program is happening this fall! I hope you have a magical time!
Other than taking a bathroom break we make sure my sisters are all set sitting in their stroller and we head to our first fast pass
hahaha better to start the day that way then realizing you have to go while you're in the middle of line! haha
I always head straight for the main street vehicles!!! I love cruising main street in style!
Wait, what do you mean?! Cruising main street style????
@@olivia_simone we dress up for dapper day and ride the main street vehicles to sleeping beauty's castle. It feels like a parade.
@@mr.andmrs.madden9375 oh my gosh I didn't know that was a thing! That's so fun!
@WilliamSmith no, maybe when I was little but not that I can remember.
I love the train at Disneyland! It's so convenient!
I love you so much hope your doing well 💕💖
The breakfast buffet is my family's favorite way to start the day as well!
Definitely head for an attraction first while my mom is a “bathroom and then pictures” type of girl lol
hahaha i love that 🤣
Once you've had children, everywhere you go is bathroom first 😂
Hopefully taking a trip for the 3rd year in a row to WDW in January and I'll be headed straight to Batu(Galaxy's Edge).
That would be awesome! I really hope things are opened up by then
Magic Kingdom- First thing I do is take in the atmosphere, watch the street performers.
Hollywood Studios- Making a B-line to Runaway Railway, pretty much my most watched ride-through since this all started.
Epcot- Enter through International Gateway to avoid the maze of construction, get some coffee and maybe meet a few characters.
Animal Kingdom- Take in the atmosphere, then slowly make my way to where the DuckTales characters are.
oooh how is runaway railway???
The first thing my family does is ride the ferry boat to magic kingdom and then go to adventure land and ride pirates of the Caribbean and jungle cruise!
pirates is one of my favorites!!
The first thing I do when I go to a Disney park is get a churro!😋
yum!
The first thing my family always did was go to the popular rides before the wait times got too long (we always got there early in the morning).
very smart!
In San Antonio we have six flags and I head strait for the water park
Water rides at Six Flags are the best tbh
Olivia Simone indeed they are
the first thing i do is take a stroll down mainstreet, pass through the castle, and then take a ride on one of the classic fantasyland darkrides! i love the old darkrides with all my heart
That sounds like such a peaceful start to a day!
All these years later, the castle in Disney World is worth the trip and the time.
aw that's so amazing it brings back memories for you!! I love the Cinderella castle so much
Good luck on your Master's thesis
You will nail it!!!
Thank you so much!
I hate when they mix up the parks! You’d think when they would research a little on the topic they’re talking about.
agreed
OMG you got 50 k keep up the good work your vids are great 👍👍👍
Steph Dixon thank you so so much!!!
Running in at rope drop to flight of passage is what I do first 😂
Once I did that with my family and we still waited 5 hours 😅 I think the people working the line messed up though because there's no way it should've been that long!
First thing, at Disneyland, I go straight for Haunted Mansion Holiday.
I love Haunted Mansion holiday
I’ve never been, but I think the first thing I’d do is get some sweet merch XD. Love your vids!
I have def walked in, bought a pair of ear, immediately cut the tags off and then went on with my day! lol
Okay but the train at Disneyland is honestly the best!! My family and I ride it multiple times a day too honestly!
I'm pretty sure I would cry.. never been to Disney and it has been my dream since I was like 10 and now I'm 23.. 🙊
Laura Katrine oh yep yep I’ve done that 🙈😭 it’s a magical place
The first thing I do is visit the shops on Main Street and grab a snack! Ugh 🥺 miss it sm
Eating popcorn strolling down Main Street and window shopping sounds amazing rn
"Indocteration"? Not in 1987 either. Everyone goes through Orientation but that's with all jobs, especially Themeparks. The only two things they stressed were Punctuality and Cleanliness. If you want to work for Disney, you are part of the Cast. I loved the time there and still very much miss my Disney family both there and in Canada in 95 with the Disney Canada Merchandising Team.
Glad to know this wasn't a thing then either!
My family always gets reservations for Be Our Guest Breakfast an hour before ropedrop so that when we finish eating we can go get in line for Seven Dwarves before the park opens
That is such a good idea!!!
"300 dollars an hour" and "daffy duck" made me laugh so hard
When we first enter, my mom pulls us aside and explains all of the fast passes we have to get to and reservations and that we are not allowed to complain.
P.S. I love your shirt and hair! They are so cute!
bahahahahah that is so relatable!! and thank you so much! :)
As a current DLand CM and former WDW CM this video is so funny and outrageous to me. Keep posting these videos please, I need a distraction haha!
I'm so glad you agree!!
1st thing to do when you get to any of the parks is to check out the new merch for that season
ooooh I love doing that too
First thing i do at Sisneyland Paris after getting inside is taking a selfie in front of the train station/entrance... Good luck!!!
Love that! Gotta have proof you were there!! and thank you!
That's a fun tradition!!
@@olivia_simone yeah, I only started doing this a maybe a year ago but I enjoy it!!
Ideally, the first thing I do when I get to the parks is just kinda chill, take it all in, and get some photos but it's usually something along the lines of "oh we overslept and now have ten minutes to get to the back of the parl before our fastpasses expire go go go!!"
lolol relatable
As a current performer at WDW I literally died laughing at so many things wrong. $300 more an hour for face? HAHAHAH. not allowed to ask for help in an emergency? DAFFY duck?! they need to fact check my god
RIGHT?! I swear they made up these facts when they were half asleep half awake
The first thing I usually do is find a map and grab a coffee. Good luck defending your thesis! :)
What a nice start to the day! and thank you so much!
Luck!
The first thing I do is take a lap around the park on the train. It's kind of my tradition.
That's such a lovely tradition!!
1st thing to do... When going to the Magic Kingdom... Haunted Mansion!! (Go left... never right! Pirates and Haunted Mansion are our favorite rides, so always nice to start there)
LOVE Haunted Mansion first thing!
She's way too nice to say what I'm sure she is thinking about the people that comes up with the videos she reacts to
The first thing I do when I get in to Magic Kingdom is usually go for people mover. I also love how you reacted to the 300 an hour
That ride is so relaxing! and hahahah I was SHOOK
I seem to usually head to Tomorrowland. That seems to be the most frequent thing I do, now that i think about it! 😋
That's always a fun start!!
good luck defending your thesis - I'm sure you'll do great!
Thank you so much!
At EPCOT first thing was Club Cool for some Beverly. So pissed it’s gone.
aw I'm sorry you can no longer torture yourself with the drink from the devil :(
Beverly is still at the Coca Cola store on the 3rd floor at Disney Springs!
Good luck on your thesis defense!! Love these videos
Thanks so much Amy!! i'm so glad you like these videos!
The first thing I do is ride the carousel! It's a family tradition and it's such a nice way to start a day.
Okay that is so sweet!
Good luck on your thesis. First thing we do when we get into Disneyland is go to Starbucks. While we are waiting in line, I will send one of the kids to Space Mountain for FP. After that, head to Splash Mountain before the lines get long.
Thank you! Just passed my defense!! :D And that's a really good idea - I might start doing that!!
