Omg I love your editing! I literally had the same reaction as you, I felt so defeated... I went with a friend I met who already got accepted with me and her family and I think that may have been a factor too because I wasn't with my family. My brother came because he applied but I still wish my mom would have come with me... My friend Betsy was told to stay so I had to wait for her to get finished. When I came back later after hanging out with my bro I saw alot of girls there who looked really pretty with full face makeup and curled hair. I looked like a toad so that also coulda been why... lesson learned: wear makeup! She did look like Edna mode though!!!!
AHHHHHH Hi! Can't believe you actually saw this oh my goodness. Also, I'm so sorry you didn't make it either, but at least you got into the dcp (still a little jealous of that). I'm sure one day you'll be friends with Ariel in the parks and I'll be there with Belle, just gotta have patience and keep practicing!
I fail in my English class from South Mountain Community College when I didn’t understand that assignment but it all happens, that happens to everyone.
inkorkeys Dance and theater, yes. We did countless grapevines in dance and in theater. Football, maybe. I never personally played football, but we did grapevine drills when I played volleyball.
@Doubleshot Your comment makes no sense. If you watched the video, she said she checked in at 10am, the time she was supposed to, as auditions started at 1030? Learn your facts before talking shit about someone on the internet.
Yeah, what they're looking for varies by audition and by the recruiter, sometimes looks can be emphasized too much, but regardless lots of love to anyone who can pull off princess!
I highly suggest going and taking a ballet class and some jazz class. Not only will it help your dancing but it will up your confidence walking into future auditions.
Great suggestion! I am actually planning on doing so, still trying to find the right class for my budget and my schedule but I think it's gonna be super helpful for me in the future!
@@NatalieEverAfter that's great! Some studios offer discounts for college students. Some also offer a free first time class if you give them a call. That way you can find the studio that's perfect for you. Good luck on your audition journeys:)
I randomly came upon your video and I think it’s awesome you posted this. Most people wouldn’t post their “failure” and give advice to others on how to learn from their audition mistakes. And you have a positive attitude. Kudos to you! As someone who knows nothing about Disney, it seems like if you took a ballet class you would improve tremendously in dance. I think you will kill your next audition. I’m rooting for you!
Thank you for such a sweet comment. I really appreciate you taking the time out of your day to make me feel better! I knew going into that dance wouldn't be my strong suit, but I'm glad I did it regardless because I learned a lot from failing. here's to try number 2 :)
The dance matters because they are auditioning for parade performers as well as characters. If you are an option they like for character performer and can’t dance they will send you through
I can't really dance, but I've got enough years if the UK equivalent to community theatre in a well respected youth group to know terms and moves. (I.e. light ballet in the background of a Rodgers and Hammerstein dance sequence.)
Getting rejected from any type of audition or tryout for something is so painful. I love your attitude and I hope you stay in good spirits! Your path is still out there! ✨
I'm sorry that you didn't get through! I got cut at the same point when I auditioned and I was a dancer and a cheerleader for 14 years! I felt super confident in the dance and still got cut. You never know what they want! I hope you go and try again sometime in the future! You would do so great in entertainment!
That means the absolute world to me, considering you're a freaking bonafide cast member. Also, you have no idea how good it feels to hear, although melancholic, that you were also cut in the first round--even though I would put you in that category of the victorias secret model girls of my audition group. I can only hope that next audition is a little lighter on the dance aspect, my theory is that since Atlanta was the last stop on the DCP audition tour, they had maybe pulled too many pure meet and greet characters and were looking for parade people, which is why dance was emphasized in this specific audition experience. Regardless, this is just practice for the future, I'm determined to make it even if that's not till my 20th audition!
Girl the audition process is crazy and believe me when I say they only look for specific people. They are very picky and some time is not even how talented you may be. They just look for very almost copy and paste people that they currently have in the parks. I hope you continue and you seem like you work hard. Keep trying never stop and you'll eventually get it
@@blindpeopledostuff3587 I don't know about that. You can talk to the people at the audition or when it's time for audition days there is the website that provides contact numbers. Also during the interview process you may ask your interviewer questions about disabilities and how they help cast members with special need.
Keep auditioning! Never give up. I went to three auditions before I became a character performer for Disney! You can get your dream job in the end! It’s all about timing, what casting needs, and other requirements at the time. You got this! 💕
Honestly, I don’t know why people assume they’re just going to make it on their first try...especially with having no dance experience. Failure is part of auditioning.
I 1,000% agree, this one was just to get a feel for what an audition was like. I know it'll be a few more times before I actually get anywhere, but there's no harm in trying!
@@NatalieEverAfter please keep trying, like other people mentioned, maybe take a dance class for more confidence and poise. good luck! hope to see you uploading a success video in the future, ... from, a mom
Rachel Writes you’ve obviously never been to a Disney audition. For the dcp, you don’t need to be a great dancer to get the job. They tell you at the audition that the most important part is the animation portion. The first march “dance” is to see heights, body types, and movement. You don’t have to have dance experience to get the job, you just need to be what their looking for at the time of your audition.
The fact that you took this moment that didn't feel great but saw it for the value it had, and decided to use your remaining energy to turn it into something constructively helpful for other people, makes you a Disney princess in your heart. There are worse foundations to build from. You may not have passed this time, but you are anything but a failure. If I had a daughter with that kind of attitude I'd be super proud.
Just stumbled on this video, and wanted to say I really like your attitude and response to disappointment! I hope you're super proud of yourself for getting out there and giving it a shot!
When rolling your arms you may want to close your palms. It’s cleaner. Also spot while you spin, so you don’t look all topsy turvy But keep practicing, never stop!
A piece of advice I give to anyone auditioning for any entertainment based job. It’s not personal. There will always be people who are better. One day you’ll get to be that person. I was always knocked back because they knew I would be unable to learn on the job. My one successful audition was one where I went in acting as if I was just there doing my job and not auditioning :) but definitely never let an unsuccessful audition get you down.
I agree one million percent! Failing is not a bad thing, next time I'll go in even more prepared. I know it'll take a few tries to get there, but I'm not afraid of some hard work :)
I’ve been so so soooo many Disney auditions and have been cut every single time. The best thing to remember is that many people don’t get pulled for the first time until their tenth time auditioning. Sometimes we aren’t just what they’re looking for at that particular moment but I’m sure that if you keep on trying they’ll find a place for you💙
Yes exactly, I went into this very aware that the possibility of being chosen wasn't significant in any way. And I know the tears can make it come off as though I've given up, but definitely not. I plan to audition till they're sick of me and they just give me a role so I stop showing up. 😂
In high school, I went to an audition at Disneyland California... I had no idea I need to be able to dance... and wore no make up and just shirt and tea shirt... lol( it was for the electrical parade... but in 1994) ... we learned a routine and then we went into the room .. the piano player was playing “be my guest, be my guest”and then they ask us to do the dance a diagonal down the room... ( that totally got me off my game...) so funny, the person choosing.. came to work with my like 10 years later at my interior design company I was working at... so I was able to say, “ hey, I remember you... you were the one who didn’t pick me to be Cinderella at Disneyland.....lol... life is funny, isn’t it. 😘💥
Natalie Ever After I love how all of your answers are so diplomatic even though you aren’t a Disney character, you totally embody everything they are supposed to be: delicately dancing around more controversial and harsh commentary and putting in a positive happily ever after spin to it. *Make👏🏻This👏🏻Girl👏🏻Snow👏🏻White* Love, Erika
To the haters and extremely judgmental people in the comments: what might seem easy to you isn’t necessarily easy for someone else. Also, everything is easier said than done. Imagine being at an audition for your dream job. You’re tired, you don’t know anybody, and your nerves are flying everywhere. Any simple task will take more effort than usual. Instead of hating on her for NO REASON at all how about you just click on another video. With all that being said, I’m very glad you documented your journey because it help other people. It’s okay to be upset over it!! Like other supporters have said, try taking some basic dance classes! They’ll teach you everything you need to know so next time you’ll be super prepared and ready to dance! 😜
Wow, thank you for this comment. It's of course really nice to hear the support. I've started taking a few dance classes and going to the gym regularly. :) I'm so excited to try even harder the next however many times it takes!
Hi Natalie! I can obviously tell this is something you want so please don’t give up! Remember every trial period just makes you more prepared for the next time, you said it yourself, stay positive! :]
YOU ARE KIDDING. I'm about to have a heart attack at my audition this Saturday.... It doesn't help that the text didn't render where it was supposed to say "she looked like Edna Mode, but super friendly so kinda like this:" I'm gonna go hide in shame now.
Yeah I went to 2 Disney auditions that weekend, regular and DCP, and she brought it up both days so be prepared! She was saying that one day everyone in the office was watching it...I know there’s 2 teams going around to audition and there was also 2 casting directors at our audition so hoping the best for you!
It makes total sense to me that dancers get through easier than anime people. It takes much longer to teach people to dance than it is to teach people animating.
Natalie, longtime dancers have the advantage when it comes to picking up routines after instructions and a couple of run throughs. I’m not that person, so I feel you. I always had to be front and center in Jazzercise class, to see what’s going on. I love your attitude and enthusiasm and am happy to see all the support you are getting here. Keep marching, stepping, grapevining, turning and chasséing and above all, keep smiling.
Hey girl! I used to be a performer in my DCP and as a current party princess and ex Disney performer I assure you, party princessing is a THOUSAND times better!
Woah, it's an honor to meet/message you! And.......Not that I'm demanding at all, but can you tell me every detail of your life leading up to that moment as well as the source of your powers? Much appreciated, thanks! ok, ok, in all seriousness I get how a lot of people would prefer to be a party princess and honestly, that'd probably be me one day too --- I just need that experience to feel complete, to me it's a bucket list item, a life goal. So even though parties might have better hours and more intimate connections, I want to try both before I decide for myself, ya' know?
@@NatalieEverAfter trust me, I totally get it and you should totally go for it! I couldn't be a face either because of my height and that was a total bummer. But, as a performer, working for the Disney company gives you a different perspective about princes sing and all of that! I'm available for DCP and Disney talk if you ever need it!
Tips for next time 😊: If your going to do this again don't worry about anyone else just make sure you can get that dancing. If you can't see or you are struggling please ask the dance person for help. I'm sure they would happily help as they want the best for their characters and they want to see your best to see if you are right for it. Like a win win situation. Also keep in mind that some auditions for a certain job take place all around the globe (For example I found a Tokyo audition for England in London and then found the same one for Italy though that was look a likes for characters like Peter Pan and Wendy Darling (Literally the only characters I remember as I wanna be Alice or Wendy when I'm old enough to audition.) Good luck on your next audition it maybe you already passed as I didn't check how long ago this was. But I hope at least someone will find it useful.
I want to say thank you so much for sharing your story. We see almost exclusively success stories on here and it’s refreshing and raw to see what it’s like on the other side. I’ve only done only one audition so far and I didn’t make it through the first round, which was just benign looked at, and it was heartbreaking
Obviously, I feel you, it sucks to have that dream ripped away before you even feel like they've got a chance to know you/your abilities. However there's almost always a positive, for us, it's comforting to know that we can try again. There's so many more auditions and chances we get to secure that dream role, so I'm confident the both of us can do it! :)
Aww you are so sweet! Don’t be so hard on yourself! Every audition is different so you should keep trying! Even if it doesn’t happen, you have great things in store for you and so many other talents. Like your editing for example! This video was so good!!! And so informative. Thank you for making this ❤️
This video really encouraged me. When I’m older I want to be an actress. You helped me understand that you won’t always get it on the first try and that if you keep trying and do your best, you will eventually get it! Good luck! Keep trying and I’m sure you will get the part!!
I'm so glad that was your takeaway from my video. I know for a minute there I fell into that pity and sadness pitfall, but I think it's helpful to see that sometimes. There are gonna be disappointments, but as you said it's important to keep your head up and try again!
It's completely okay to feel upset. I remember I cried like a baby after my first audition lol just remember that even miracles take a little time! sending lots of pixie dust your way, never stop dreaming💕
Funny that you say that because much like Tinkerbell, I live off applause and people believing in me, so inherently your words mean a lot to me! Although, totally didn't cry.... have no idea where you got that from..... ;)
I so appreciate you going out of your way to write that down and try to help, but I'll be honest: I think that managed to confuse me more! What happened to one and where's 5 in between? My brain hurts...
I just realized that didn't make much sense. but for example, it's like saying "grape vine, grape vine, grape vine, grape vine," but instead they just say grape vine once and then say "2, 3, 4," until it's over.
@@michellebailey6216 Oh crap, I should probably get it by now, but unfortunately, I'm still stuck on it. I really appreciate you trying, but I think this might be one of those things you have to learn in person especially with something as visual as dance...
I LOVE your positive attitude! Honestly, it's people like you who go for their dreams, are willing to work for it, and able to pick themselves back up after a setback who restore my faith in humanity. People like you make the world a better and more interesting place. Your smile is infectious and I so hope you keep trying! You've got yourself a new subscriber!
Aww, thank you so much Stacy! I'm glad you were able to enjoy my video, so nice to have a new person visit the channel. And just between you and me, I can only hope to live up to your impression of me -- here's to trying though! :)
7:40 HAHAH me!! this was really intriguing to hear, I’m glad you shared your audition story. i want to participate in the DCP as well soon; you’re lovely btw!
I know the feeling when something turns out differently then you thought, it is super stressful and heart breaking, so many of us go through that, but that is normal and just life! Things will go right eventually
A lot of people like the idea of being a performer, but it takes more than just an idea. I HIGHLY suggest you take dance/jazz class. Its part of your craft and all dancers/actors/performers take classes continuously!
Totally understand the disappointment but your attitude toward the experience is commendable. You are so positive! I will hit my 29th anniversary with the company next month and you have such a Disney aura.
This comment is gonna be in my heart forever. The encouragement means so much to me (especially coming from a current cast member)! My aura thanks you a million times over. 😊❤
You followed your dream and gave it all you had! Be proud! Now that you know, next time, knock it outa the park! Congratulations on trying! That's more than most do nowa days!
Bummer! I hoped you would have gotten through! But thank you for sharing in detail what you personal audition process was like. I really can’t dance at all either, like you had me lost at that grapevine thing. 😂😂. But doing theatre has helped me a little. Maybe you could see if your college has a theatre club or class. You have more experience than you think, because maintaining a Princess character for hours is hard work! Best of luck to you! I can’t wait to see more princess vlogs!☺️
Can I just say how much I love you for like the millionth time? It always brightens my day to see you here in the comments! As for your suggestion of a theatre class, I think that's a wonderful idea. The only problem is that at my college a lot of pre-reqs are needed, so if I wanted any actual practice it'd be like a semester or two of classes weighing down my workload before I even get any help. I signed up for one this past semester, but I ended up dropping it because of how much other stuff was going on. But ya' know, never say never, might sign up for something over the summer! :)))
I'm not a dancer at all and I don't really claim to be. Disney auditions for meet and greet characters do have a dance component, but they highly stress that dance experience is by no means a prerequisite. These auditions are marketed as laidback and welcoming (which it certainly was). If you watch any of the videos on the audition website or read the Disney forums, they really encourage people to just try out regardless of background. On the weekends, I do children's birthday parties as a princess. I know I have the capability to interact with children in character and contribute to that magic. I'm confident in my abilities to perform the daily functions of the job. I know I seem frazzled & inexperienced, so it's not a far jump for people to assume I have no business being at the audition, but that isn't the case. I concede not being the most well rounded of applicants, however, it really strikes a chord with me when people belittle my ambitions because of shortcomings that don't even directly correlate into the job description. I hope I don't come across as defensive or sanctimonious. I just know a lot more people than my intended audience has seen this video, so I feel somewhat compelled to reframe my baseline of expertise in the field.
As soon as you said that you just learned what a grapevine was at the group audition I had a feeling that the dance section is what would have caught you. When I was just starting to get into musical theatre as a youth I was really nervous about not being up to the dancing requirements (turns out I was overthinking and giving myself unnecessarily anxieties, all of us were inexperienced 10-year-olds lol). So before I had my first company audition I had a friend who took dance teach me everything she knew. And I practiced it so many times it was absurd. But walking into that audition I felt so much more confident. I was able to pick up choreo, do counts, and do simple dance moves without being taught by the demonstrator. Even though it wasn't expected of me (the choreographer was super understanding and walked us through everything) knowing I was able to do what was asked of me gave me the confidence boost I needed to shake any nerves. I know comparing our two situations might be like apples to oranges when it comes to the age and audition intensity. But my advice would be to seek out some beginner dance classes in your area and/or find friends who are willing to teach you. TH-cam has great resources too omg! I was placed in a company's showing of The Nutcracker which requires ballet which I have none of. I watched dozens of ballet vids on YT, practiced and was able to land an ensemble and understudy role. I believe in you! Please do not stop working for this because it is so obvious you would crush it at Disney. Since all of that^^^I've become dance captain of several shows while also exploring new things and all I can say is it's never too late to learn new skills. NEVER! TOO! LATE! Slaying grape vines this year and crushing Disney auditions the next. You got this!
So interesting! I did an audition recently here in Dublin and made it through the process for Disneyland Paris. Currently in their system and hoping to get an email offering a contract soon but just playing the waiting game now. Around 150 people at my audition and only 15 got through. Although it was actually the second audition I did. First time I tried I got cut really early in the process.
Everyone has a different experience and this just wasn't my time to make it through, I'm glad you did though! I hope it's everything you've dreamed of :)
Girl, thank you so much for this, and BIG kudos for you doing this so soon after being rejected! I’m someone who needs to immediately distract myself from my failure before I completely crumble, so I never would’ve been able to pull myself together to do something like this. I’m so glad you’re stronger than me, because I’m going to the auditions in Ohio tomorrow and this video seriously helped a lot!
Failure is part of auditioning too, it's natural and there shouldn't be shame in it as lone as you pick yourself up and work harder to improve. I hope your audition went well btw!
As a current animator for Disney, and as someone who did the DCP when I was in college, please don’t give up. You look like a princess to me. But if a fur character is what you want to go for, by all means go for it! It took me 2 tries to finally pass my audition, and it took my friend 6!!! So please keep trying, you got this!
That's wonderful to hear, and I'm hoping you're right -- I know I'm gonna audition again and again till it happens! :) Fingers crossed I don't have to go through a full 6 though ...
As a former Zoo Crewer at Disneyland... I can still remember my audition dance 16 years later! I knew exactly what to expect because I went to performance classes as a part of Magic Music Days when I was in middle school and they showed us what a winning audition looked like. Burned into my brain is, "Be a TIGGER, not an EEYORE" on every single step of the audition. Our process had 9 cuts over 2 days... and every single time you had to bust it and bring everything you have. After making it through 6 cuts on Day 1, I went home at 7pm and practiced the dance 50+ times for the next morning to do it in costume (probably why I still remember it now). If you look ridiculously silly and energetic with your toes pointing and jazz hands flared, you're going to be ready.
Great attitude girl! This was very similar to my journey. I had been dancing since I was 7 with my dream of being a performer. Unfortunately I got cut at the second round at my DCP Audition. I've auditioned now probably about 15 times and have had to come to terms with my height (something I have literally no control over) is my weakness. Every no has been devastating, but I also look back now on how much it made me stronger and shaped me into the CM I am now 5 years later. I still audition cause even if it means I'm 50 and friends with the fairy godmother, I will continue to pursue my dream. For now I'm thankful for the lessons the auditions have taught me cause I have had some of the greatest jobs so far and many phenomenal guest interactions. Keep your head up, keep trying, and keep that positive outlook. I'm sure you'll be incredible in any role while you wait for your dreams to come true. I've always believed that if Walt Disney can be told no thousands of times and leave behind such an amazing legacy, surely I can do anything I set my mind to! You got this girl! Best wishes from your fellow TH-camr & Magic Maker ❤️
15 times and counting? Wow, that's dedication. I could use a little bit of your optimism! I share your sentiment though, it's my absolute dream to be an entertainment cast member at Disney and I want more than anything for it to come true. Which means: doing all the work necessary to achieve my goal.
I know how scary it is. I applied for a culinary internship and I got accepted. But I messed up one part of my interview. Trust me it’s super scary! But I believe you’ll get though it! You know what’s happening now! You’ll get it! I believe in you!
This is why you don’t worry about making friends for the first hour and standing where your “friend group” stands. You were at an audition, not a social club and the confusion of those two things hurt you a lot.
Can I just say you didn’t fail because look at how much knowledge you’ve gained and this isn’t your last chance!! Don’t be hard on yourself you are gorgeous and for a first time dancer you are incredible!! Your smile is everything
This is interesting to watch as a musical theatre performer. I go into auditions all the time with like 15 min to learn a full dance and to go over it once or twice before the audition. This audition seems very relaxing. I think you need to try to prepare yourself more with other auditions. It’s a practice thing to learn how to retain info faster
Glad I could help! I know when I was researching it was always from the perspective of someone who made it and it seemed really daunting and/or questionable just how they perceived what parts were 'easy'. Please let me know how it goes 😋
everybody who’s saying that she should’ve took a dance class , well my cousin has never took a dance class in her life and she is now a Disney princess.
But sometimes they’re looking for people that can dance, maybe they were looking for people to play as a princess and sometimes they’re looking for people for shows, I’m sure they don’t say what they’re looking for but idk
Idk you but I’m so proud of you!! The people who get casted are always the ones who have auditioned at least once before! Good job :) I want to do the Disney college program and I’m super excited even if I’m picking up trash lol but i want to audition for sure, thanks for this!! ❤️
I guess I got this recommend since I was bingewatching Fatima videos with The Evil Queen... and I just want to say I hope you made it some day. Don't give up, you totally can be Snow White and love your positivity in this video
As someone who has auditioned for Broadway, I hear a lot of excuses about the dancing. “I couldn’t see” “I didn’t spend enough time on it.” “I didn’t know the technical terms...”. In professional theater even with Disney, they don’t care. If you can’t see, move. If you didn’t spend enough time on it, that’s your problem. If you don’t know the technical terms, do some homework. I was in the revival of a chorus line after failing audition after audition because I didn’t know dance terms. I took a dance class.
I'm not a professional dancer and I don't claim to be. This was my first time ever doing anything like this, I knew my chances weren't good but I also knew I'd do my best with the skills that I had. You have a valid point in that I need more training for next time and I am taking classes, I just think you might've overestimated how cutthroat the Disney audition process is.
This is the first video I’ve seen of yours and idk how I even got here! Lol. But you have a great attitude and I’m so sorry to hear about your audition. I understand how that must have felt. Good luck with becoming a princess!
Welcome to the channel, thank you so much for watching my video (and for leaving such a nice comment)! Even though I didn't get the role this time, it was still super awesome to have the opportunity to even try. Besides, now I'mmoreprepared for next time. :)
im in seventh grade but i know how you feel! i go to a theatre company and i was SOOO intimidated by everyone. i had only a little bit of dance background and often stepped on peoples feet during warm-ups. by the end of the semester i learned everything pretty well and felt as though i fit in! just know that everyone starts somewhere but if we work hard enough, we will eventually get it!
Hi Natalie, A. You’ve been in my recommended feed for a minute so I finally clicked on your video. B. I’m so glad I did because hi, you’re adorable and sweet and kind. I am now a subscriber. C. I auditioned twice. Passed both of my auditions twice. Ended up getting hired for DCL (didn’t go because it just wasn’t a good time). I’ve been a performer for a long time and have been to countless auditions. Don’t stop. Keep going back because even if you aren’t right THIS time, you might be the next time. Side note: I go to WDW 4-5 times a year. I would love to know where you end up so I can come say hi. Lots of love and pixie dust to you -Allison
Ahhh how exciting, super nice to hear from someone who was in such high demand that they turned down a role! BTW Cruise Line is an absolute dream of mine so feel free to tell me all your secrets. Also, everyone is urging me to go back and don't worry -- I will 1,000,000%, not stopping till I'm in costume backstage at WDW. However, till then I'm stuck saving up on my waitress salary for a trip hopefully next year!
@@AllisonMertzman Ok hold up. Just check out your channel and now I know what I'm doing with my next hour omg. You and your wife are so beautiful together, I'm going to cry. NGL somewhat preparing to take over your life and would be completely ok with that.
I can confirm that the dancing is probably the most important part of the auditions. I made it all the way through the audition till they were over and they go, easy dance, animation, harder dance, which is more like one of the actual parade dancer dances and it’s very princessie, not just a cute little marching dance , and then they take pictures of your face which was for sure the weirdest part. But for sure the dancing is the most important part cause in the end you need to be able to perform for people. But it was so great to hear how positive you were about your experience and now you know how the auditions go you can be ready for it then next time! 😊 (This was for Disney world, by the way)
It's wonderful to hear another person's input on the auditions. I definitely took the dance portion for granted and I'm excited to keep improving and get better for attempt number 2!
Natalie Ever After You did the dance really well when you filmed it! Have confidence in yourself, don’t be afraid to be a little over the top, cause after all, it’s Disney. But I’m sure you’ll be able to have a great next audition, and whether or not you get to be a performer at Disney, it’s still a super cool experience! Like I feel really cool that I got to stay to the end of my audition being considered for playing Elsa and Anna when they were going to premiere at the parks. So it’s just a great experience to learn from even if you don’t get to be a performer there.
Watching this video and all I can think over and over again is that you would make a PERFECT Snow White. I also think you would make the absolute cutest Belle. You are seriously Princess level gorgeous!!
You are a babe! You even get upset like a princess, which is beautifully. I've now started doing party princessing. My first show is on the 13th of July, I'll be playing tinkerbell, Elsa and Cinderella and I'm so excited. Your videos are amazing hunni. I'm from England and I'm way older than you are but you've taught me so much. I'm gonna add you on Twitter and fb if you're there as youre so talented and kind!!!! Xxxxx
"Get upset like a princess"? That is hands-down my favorite compliment I've ever received online, tysm. Also, I am so proud of you for going out there and reaching for your dream, super honored and humbled that I am even a little bit apart of that. I hope your event goes wonderfully and feel free to tell me all about it via Instagram (my only social media besides YT)!! 💖🦄🌈
OMG i was so disappointed in myself when i failed my audition!!!but luckily i was one of the first people to get a call back for the celebrity experience so i am sure your time will come!!
Hi! Idk if you’re going to see this but I wanted to comment anyways. I’m not sure what the Disney college program is(this video was at the top of my recommended-idk why cause I’ve never watched a vid like this lol but I’m glad it was in my recommended), so I can’t relate to this specific experience, but as someone who has been rejected and didn’t get the part or job at many auditions and interviews in the past despite so much prep, I want to say thank you for posting this. It’s really comforting to see this realistic aspect. Thank you for posting this. When I first didn’t get the parts/jobs at my first few auditions, I would always be extremely upset. I even cried a couple times. I felt like I was such a failure and like I was so alone bc no one talks about times when they don’t get the job. So thank you for this. It’s comforting to know you’re not alone (even though obviously most people get rejected since there are a few spots and a lot of people auditioning so you know lots of people get rejected, but that’s diff than emotionally going through it) I just want to thank you for posting this. It’s really brave and really emotionally comforting to see other people going through a similar process. Idk if this makes sense, and I’m sorry you didn’t get it, but a lot of comments here say they auditioned a few times before they got the job, so I want to wish you good luck for the future!!
I really wasn't expecting to wake up to such a sweet message today. Thank YOU for this. I had always built up this moment in my head, it was supposed to be the moment I was finally good enough. I was finally accepted by the people who really matter, by the people who are supposed to make dreams come true. So when it didn't happen, I was devastated (not in the way that I thought they owed it to me or I deserved it because I wanted it), but because I felt entirely unworthy of the dream I was--am chasing. After the rejection, I really thought about not posting the video, but I'm so glad that I did and that I was able to help be a voice and word of caution for those who don't magically get in the first time. SO thank you for easing those self doubting fears in my head and thank you for taking the time to be kind -- it means so much to me!!!
I’m glad that you took that step and put yourself out there! The combination seems that it was early beginner choreography-so all I would suggest would be to take some dance classes, and then audition again! Good luck!
That's the plan! Currently looking to find some classes that I can work into my school schedule and afford. Very nervous about it though, I think most adult beginner classes underestimate how "beginner" I am... In all honesty, I'd probably be best off put in a class with 8-year-olds, but I'd feel way too weird.
this happened to me today and i came straight to this video. i was at a singing audition and i got so nervous my throat kept drying up even after chugging a whole bottle of water. i kept choking on words and i couldn’t sing properly. i felt so bad afterwards i couldn’t stop crying for hours on end, still crying now. i’m not upset that i probably won’t make it anymore, i’m just disappointed in myself because i feel like i could’ve done so much better and i just failed it and made a complete fool of myself. i have to wait a complete year and come back in defeat next year with new songs. i spent so long practicing and learning lyrics (which, this time, i felt like it was so much harder than usual). i spent so much time and effort which i could’ve spent doing other things to just fail and disappoint myself. it’s weird because, i’m usually perfectly fine in front of like my entire class, or even entire year, but in front of just 4 people is so intimidating because you know they are watching you and taking notes on your performance and singing. *ugh i’m so pissed off, can y’all like this so when i get my results i can update this (probably around february next year)* i’ll hopefully be able to make an update for people if people even care about my stupid life lmao to my future self: i hope i make it, that’d be absolutely amazing and an incredible opportunity, but if not. don’t worry about it, we now have time to have a better song choice and practice until it’s completely perfect so don’t worry too much about it. okay well edit i guess?: its february and by now singing isnt my main instrument anymore, guitar is! i find im much better at this than singing. as you can probably tell, i didnt make it in, which was obvious but thats okay! i feel like ive got new paths now :)
YOU GOT THIS. They weren't ready for how awesome you're gonna be. And that time spent practicing? It could never be wasted. You put energy and effort into something that matters to you, something that betters your skills. Please, please, please update this because I can't wait to congratulate you when you get it! 😊
Natalie Ever After i’m gonna update tysm for the support luckily a few days later i’m feeling better, still don’t think i’m gonna make it tho 😂 i’ll update neverlethess
I just wanna say, don’t stop auditioning. It took me 5 years of auditions and now I’m a vocalist at Hong Kong Disneyland! Just keep going! I know it hurts but that’s because you truly want it. Keep going! ✨♥️
I know exactly what i will do before my audition. I will go to dance class for 3 weeks just to get myself back in the groove, I havent done much since the pandemic. Afterwards I will go get one of my favorite foods so I will feel comforted even if I feel I didnt do well.
That a wonderful plan! Dance classes helped me in my following auditions, I even made it to the second round last time. I wish you the best of luck, that's a great way to go about it.
While I'm CRUSHED to hear these news for you (I'm so sorry omg I felt those tears in the throat UGH I wanted to hug you!), I'm also super appreciative that you went ahead anyway and posted this video to show not only the hurt you felt when this happened but also to move on and to help show people who are working hard to get somewhere where their dreams lie where the stakes are high and where failure does often happen. It's part of progress and success. Lots of people on social media don't post the hardships they go through as individuals to achieve the finished product of a certain goal. It makes people feel worse than they normally would because they're so used to see nothing but the success of others seemingly on the first try without knowing they have their hard times such as these. This even helped me, as an aspiring animator, remember that there will be failure and I'll be crushed about it, too, when the time comes. But I know I'll come back to this when it happens, when any failures happen that I'm struggling with, to remember that it happens to so many but in the end they *will* get to what they're working for. And it'll be the same for me, I hope. Keep trying, girl, I'm rooting for you!!! You have such a spirit!
The support from your comment is overwhelming. I'm so glad to hear you not only enjoyed my video but understood where I was coming from. I know I have a lot of ground to cover in order to make attempt number 2 better, but I'm trying. It can be hard to remember that failure is a natural part of life, and I don't want to run away or hide from that. It only makes achieving that goal mean so much more! I hope you make it animating, it really seems like you have a passion for it; best of luck!
I’m starting the Disney college program August 12th and I missed all of the auditions but I plan on auditioning while I’m down there for a character. This was definitely very helpful! I have danced since I was 6 but I haven’t done much acting so I think I will be a good fur character for sure
Good luck with your audition and your program, hope it's everything you've dreamed of! If you make it, don't be afraid to come back and give me some pointers ;)
they are so so so specific and literally every single audition is different! don't beat yourself up, I know someone who was cut in the first round the first time and came back and was hired as a face character the second time. it really depends on what characters they need the most at that time.
If you fail, try and try again! Disney's princesses often failed in their first attempts in great leaps! Your time will come! I wish you the best! ❤❤❤❤
As a dancer and performer myself, I would say that you simply need more experience and that’s nothing to be ashamed of. Even dancing for all of my life, I still do my best to find new ways to improve, and I often find myself doubting any bigger chance of success. The more competitive side of me is wondering why you may not have chosen to seek more experience/training before entering an audition but that’s just me being blunt & completely honest, something you sadly have to learn through auditioning... However, the part of me that is a teacher to aspiring dancers/performers/etc says that constantly, and I mean constantly, working your butt off to achieve your goal is the only way you will get a result (yes, I understand that for face characters this may not matter, but for fur and even other dance roles it does). TAKE CLASS! For this more relaxed audition, I’d say that you would be good to take some Zumba, basic ballet (learning terminology, basic positions), and maybe learning basic jazz moves would help you out so much for your next audition!! Lastly, some of my best audition tips: definitely stand in the front if you can while at a dance audition, even if that means leaving your friends... be sure to put your own style on the movement & performance, don’t just throw on a cookie-cutter smile & just “go-through the movements”, even if something is just some step touches, go full out sis!!
Woah. Someone deserves extra cresdit for this *essay*. Thank you so much for all the advice, weirdly a perfect mix between bluntness and encouragement. I am so excited to enroll in some dance classes and have already started practicing for round 2 at auditions. I knew going into this I was not experienced, def didn't expect to get anything (still don't) all I know is that the more practice I have for the future; the better.
i’ve auditioned maybe 8 or 9? times...most of them have been online auditions but it’s been for WDW, paris, & the cruise line! (also never for the college program) the dance for paris was INSANE! it was like x counts of being a princess, then a villain, then a dwarf, & then this, & then that...the order was too confusing so i was probably acting like a villain when i was supposed to be a dwarf 🤦🏻♀️ the cruise line dance had a ton of ballet moves in it & i’m already not a very good dancer so that wasn’t good either hahaha although it’s so heartbreaking to not make it through, i always feel so happy to have the opportunity to even go to one! & i feel like i learn so much with each audition! i hope one day we will see each other working for the mouse ✨❤️
Super shocked that Disney holds auditions online, I had no idea! But beyond that, it seems like you have such dedication and passion for being a cast member. I would be honored to ever meet you in person especially both on stage in costume, what a dream come true!
Yesterday, I auditioned for a competition dance team. We were with 7 people, and everybody passed except for me. I'm still very upset and I cried multiple times yesterday. This video, and all the comments helped me already a little. I think we should just stick with our dreams, and someday let that dream become reality. We can do it! Even if we have to try 100 times, someday, we will be in. Thanks so much for this video. We can make it!
Omg that's me! @ 0:40 I'm considering going to a DCL dancer audition tomorrow at that same studio just for more audition experience because I do want to finish school first
You are so lovely and beautiful!!! I’ve been in auditions like that and have felt so sad haha so I really feel for you! 💚💚 I’m excited to have found your channel and to be subbed. 😁❤️ You are ABSOLUTELY a Princess! 💕
I'm glad you put yourself out there and showed up for the audition! The way you critiqued yourself sounds healthy and honest, which is important when auditioning. As a former cast member (Disney World and Hong Kong Disneyland), I want to offer some friendly advice for your next audition: 1) Do a physical warm-up before you head to the audition location. A little exercise and some simple choreography will help reduce pre-audition jitters and help turn on your "dancer brain" (super important if you're like me and not the greatest dancer). 2) While waiting to audition, it's definitely good to chat a bit and connect with other people. At the same time, take periodic breaks from socializing so that you can stay centered. Quietly step away from the group and do whatever you need to reduce pre-audition jitters (sit with your eyes closed, stretch, take a few deep breaths, think about your favorite Disney characters... whatever works for you). 3) When learning the dance combo, it's okay to ask for clarification when you have a question about the steps! This is your audition, and you're allowed to ask for what you need to help you succeed. 4) Keep smiling as you learn the dance combo. It may feel really awkward, but attaching a smile to what you're learning will help you access more confidence (and Disney magic). 5) Remind yourself that you are enough just as you are. You are not there to prove anything. You're simply there to show who you are and how you would bring happiness and Disney magic to guests. 6) Before you perform the choreography/movement for the casting team, imagine that you already have the job and you're about to go onstage to a perform set. You GOT THIS - have fun and go make magic!
I'm sure one day you'll be friends with Ariel in the parks and I'll be there with Belle, just gotta have patience and keep practicing!
oh also! Let me know if you ever post your vlog :)
lol yes I love the recruiter she looks exactly like Edan
lol edna... oof I should really know how to spell her name
I fail in my English class from South Mountain Community College when I didn’t understand that assignment but it all happens, that happens to everyone.
girl as soon as i heard “i learned what the heck a GrApeViNe is” i knew it was over
lmao
Why?
Chicken Mcfricken a “grapevine” Is common knowledge for athletes and performers? Is that a prerequisite for dance, theatre and football?
Chicken Mcfricken 😂
inkorkeys Dance and theater, yes. We did countless grapevines in dance and in theater. Football, maybe. I never personally played football, but we did grapevine drills when I played volleyball.
Literally looks like she could be a wonderful Snow White tsk
Ahh that would be a dream!
That was my thought as well, Snow White :)
Literally thought the same! Like oh she was going for Snow
@@Bruhtheusual What even, I'm blushing -- Thank you so much!
dude that’s what i thought the moment i saw the thumbnail
As a former Cast Member I want to say great job for trying and having a positive attitude. Work on the rhythm and keep trying. You got this.
Wow, super encouraging to hear from an alum -- I will definitely keep that advice in mind!. Thank you :)
@Doubleshot Your comment makes no sense. If you watched the video, she said she checked in at 10am, the time she was supposed to, as auditions started at 1030? Learn your facts before talking shit about someone on the internet.
alot of pageant girls audition for the role.
i know a real dancer tried 8 times and he finally got in
this is genuinely just the reality of professional performance careers. Anyone that works professionally as performer could tell you that.
Yeah, what they're looking for varies by audition and by the recruiter, sometimes looks can be emphasized too much, but regardless lots of love to anyone who can pull off princess!
wow what a determination
Woah
They say that Disney won’t hire you if it’s your first audition. They like to see people who are passionate and keep trying.
@@lucemovement2435 Thank you so much, I will def keep that in mind as I make some calls
Not true but i like your positivity
@@VDrake. what's not true?
I randomly came upon your video and I think it’s awesome you posted this. Most people wouldn’t post their “failure” and give advice to others on how to learn from their audition mistakes. And you have a positive attitude. Kudos to you! As someone who knows nothing about Disney, it seems like if you took a ballet class you would improve tremendously in dance. I think you will kill your next audition. I’m rooting for you!
Thank you for such a sweet comment. I really appreciate you taking the time out of your day to make me feel better!
I knew going into that dance wouldn't be my strong suit, but I'm glad I did it regardless because I learned a lot from failing. here's to try number 2 :)
the dance you showed us is super basic. So, I suggest taking a few beginning dance classes. If the dance matters, then they want folks who can dance.
The dance matters because they are auditioning for parade performers as well as characters. If you are an option they like for character performer and can’t dance they will send you through
"the dance"
I can't really dance, but I've got enough years if the UK equivalent to community theatre in a well respected youth group to know terms and moves. (I.e. light ballet in the background of a Rodgers and Hammerstein dance sequence.)
Getting rejected from any type of audition or tryout for something is so painful. I love your attitude and I hope you stay in good spirits! Your path is still out there! ✨
Wow, you just made my day -- I love this comment (and so does my ego). I already can't wait to try again!
You are awesome. You are a princess. You are worth it.
Astonishing how 11 words can have such a powerful effect... thank you. I feel so much better already 💜
TH-cam wouldn't stop recommending this video until I watched it
That is the only reason I am here! It's obnoxious how many times this video has been recommended to me.
@@gretchadkins same. I don't care about Disney and have never really watched anything similar I'm not sure why i'm being recommended content like this
Same..
Tala Sak same 😅
Same ... she probably paid to recommend it and it obviously worked
Girl the audition process is crazy and believe me when I say they only look for specific people. They are very picky and some time is not even how talented you may be. They just look for very almost copy and paste people that they currently have in the parks. I hope you continue and you seem like you work hard. Keep trying never stop and you'll eventually get it
Thank you for the words of encouragement, I hope I am able to prove you right and make the dream of working at Disney come true!!
Plan3tmarco i’ve seen them take people with disabilities. What’s their process?
@@blindpeopledostuff3587 I don't know about that. You can talk to the people at the audition or when it's time for audition days there is the website that provides contact numbers. Also during the interview process you may ask your interviewer questions about disabilities and how they help cast members with special need.
@@blindpeopledostuff3587 they're so random. You never know what going to happen 🤷
Dang, they’ve been using the same choreo for auditions since I auditioned 13 years ago. 🤣
What was the choreo?
OoooooffFfff I didn't audition or what, but... I do agree with that because I sW the other TH-camr dancing the same steps she danced.
Keep auditioning! Never give up. I went to three auditions before I became a character performer for Disney! You can get your dream job in the end! It’s all about timing, what casting needs, and other requirements at the time. You got this! 💕
Aww, thank you for the support! I can't wait to try again, especially with another person in my corner. :))))
momodoesdance what character are you?And what’s a character performer?
Samara Summer I had many friends at Disney. A character performer is a person who performs at Disney.
momodoesdance oh,ok!
Rachel Writes oh for goodness sake. Haven’t you heard of “hope”? It’s not an “assumption.”
@@hayleydoesthings no, i haven't. what's that?
The fact that you took this moment that didn't feel great but saw it for the value it had, and decided to use your remaining energy to turn it into something constructively helpful for other people, makes you a Disney princess in your heart. There are worse foundations to build from.
You may not have passed this time, but you are anything but a failure. If I had a daughter with that kind of attitude I'd be super proud.
vincentjflorio SAME HERE!
Hope my daughter grows up to be as brave as you! Good luck and hope to see you as a Disney Princess someday when we visit :)
Just stumbled on this video, and wanted to say I really like your attitude and response to disappointment! I hope you're super proud of yourself for getting out there and giving it a shot!
Awe, that's the sweetest comment, I feel my ego boosted already :)
I went to 5 auditions before I ever got past the first cut and my 5th one was when i was hired! Keep trying girl!
Woah, this gives me even more hope for the future, fingers crossed!
When rolling your arms you may want to close your palms. It’s cleaner.
Also spot while you spin, so you don’t look all topsy turvy
But keep practicing, never stop!
Aww, well in true Disney spirit: "It's a small world after all".
:)
Natalie Ever After I love how all of your answers are so diplomatic even though you aren’t a Disney character, you totally embody everything they are supposed to be: delicately dancing around more controversial and harsh commentary and putting in a positive happily ever after spin to it.

Ahh, thank you! I'm already feeling even more pepped to go again :)
Just wanted to let you know that the casting director has been bringing up at auditions that you called her Edna Mode

Natalie Ever After omg I hope this video doesn’t ruin your chances
When in the video was she called Edna?
It makes total sense to me that dancers get through easier than anime people. It takes much longer to teach people to dance than it is to teach people animating.
Natalie, longtime dancers have the advantage when it comes to picking up routines after instructions and a couple of run throughs. I’m not that person, so I feel you. I always had to be front and center in Jazzercise class, to see what’s going on. I love your attitude and enthusiasm and am happy to see all the support you are getting here. Keep marching, stepping, grapevining, turning and chasséing and above all, keep smiling.
Thank you so much for the encouragement, I'm super excited to keep working towards my dream -- I even had my first dance class today!

Tips for next time 😊:
If your going to do this again don't worry about anyone else just make sure you can get that dancing. If you can't see or you are struggling please ask the dance person for help. I'm sure they would happily help as they want the best for their characters and they want to see your best to see if you are right for it. Like a win win situation. Also keep in mind that some auditions for a certain job take place all around the globe (For example I found a Tokyo audition for England in London and then found the same one for Italy though that was look a likes for characters like Peter Pan and Wendy Darling (Literally the only characters I remember as I wanna be Alice or Wendy when I'm old enough to audition.)
Good luck on your next audition it maybe you already passed as I didn't check how long ago this was. But I hope at least someone will find it useful.
From someone who has auditioned 10+ times I know how you feel! It sucks 😭 best wishes!!!
10+??? Woah, that's some dedication there! Wishing you all the best of luck this next season hope we get in together :))))
I had a friend who auditioned 23 times before she became a character performer... dedication right there.
you look like you could do a good Pinocchio/Peter Pan tho :(
Abby DeMent thank you!!!! ❤️ Peter is my fave or mad hatter
this dance was ridiculously easy oh my gooseness But girl you’ll get it
I feel like you just psyched yourself out. You just have to be confident and put alot of energy and personality into it.
Although, totally didn't cry.... have no idea where you got that from..... ;)
here’s a tip: dance is counted in eights! so march, 2,3,4. jazz square, 6,7,8. grape vine, 2,3,4. and three step turn, 5,6,7,8
I so appreciate you going out of your way to write that down and try to help, but I'll be honest: I think that managed to confuse me more! What happened to one and where's 5 in between? My brain hurts...
@@NatalieEverAfter march is one, and jazz square is five. grape vine is one. I know nothing about dance so I might be very wrong
@@NatalieEverAfter makes sense (: good luck!!
This was super interesting! Thanks for sharing your experience. For what it's worth I think you'd make a great face character :D
Aww, thank you very much! I can't wait to try again. :)
I hope we both get it, dcp is the actual dream!!
I know the feeling when something turns out differently then you thought, it is super stressful and heart breaking, so many of us go through that, but that is normal and just life! Things will go right eventually
I agree, just gotta keep auditioning till it happens!
TYSM! So sweet of you to be that encouraging, I already can't wait to go back out there and try again!
i cried too after my first audition but i’m going to keep trying and i hope you do too❤️
Aww, twins! Hope we make it girl :)
HOW DO WE HAVE THE SAME FIRST AND MIDDLE NAME
Aww! This made us so sad! :( Keep chasing your dreams and one day your wish will come true! Best of luck for next time!
I appreciate the empathy, but no reason to be sad - failing is just a way of gaining more experience for the next time. :)
When you said you learned what a grapevine was and had to buy dance shoes.... I think it says a lot about your performing arts background
Your comment says a lot about your mother
The Telly 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
HEY! you’re related to Eimear right?
Girl, thank you so much for this, and BIG kudos for you doing this so soon after being rejected! I’m someone who needs to immediately distract myself from my failure before I completely crumble, so I never would’ve been able to pull myself together to do something like this. I’m so glad you’re stronger than me, because I’m going to the auditions in Ohio tomorrow and this video seriously helped a lot!
Failure is part of auditioning too, it's natural and there shouldn't be shame in it as lone as you pick yourself up and work harder to improve. I hope your audition went well btw!
Don’t worry, girl! Now you know what it’s like, and you can go back and try again if you want to. Good luck!
Exactly! Hopes weren't high for try number one, but at least I know more for this next time. :)
Thank you so much for all the tips, I feel like I'll be better prepared already. Gotta remember the Tigger/Eeyore thing too -- super helpful!
Those auditions are rough but yes, your time will definitely come! Keep working hard!
Thank you so much, I'm looking forward to that moment too!
I'm so sorry for your interview, I obviously know what it's like to mess up on something you care about a lot. I hope it goes well anyway, good luck!
This is why you don’t worry about making friends for the first hour and standing where your “friend group” stands. You were at an audition, not a social club and the confusion of those two things hurt you a lot.
Exactly!!! So naive
Can I just say you didn’t fail because look at how much knowledge you’ve gained and this isn’t your last chance!! Don’t be hard on yourself you are gorgeous and for a first time dancer you are incredible!! Your smile is everything
I’ve been contemplating cutting my hair off and getting a chin bob and your adorable haircut inspired me. I’m doing it.
Heck yeah, people with short hair are the best people! (I say as I'm trying to grow my hair out...)
Natalie Ever After Hahaha, I do the same. Cut it short. Love it. Then hate it. Then grow it out. Then miss it. Repeat. 😂
This was so interesting to watch as I have always wanted to do this and never did! Thank you for your experiences and wishing you all the best
Glad you enjoyed it! It was def an experience for the history books, happy I took the shot in the dark and it gives me something more to work towards.
Haha same. I couldn’t understand how people could mess up 2 eight counts of easy movements. Not really even dancing, just movements.
Thank you so so much for this video! I’m going to audition soon and really needed someone’s true experience auditioning!
Glad I could help! I know when I was researching it was always from the perspective of someone who made it and it seemed really daunting and/or questionable just how they perceived what parts were 'easy'. Please let me know how it goes 😋
I auditioned once and never made it past the first round, either. You're so sweet to share your story.
everybody who’s saying that she should’ve took a dance class , well my cousin has never took a dance class in her life and she is now a Disney princess.
But sometimes they’re looking for people that can dance, maybe they were looking for people to play as a princess and sometimes they’re looking for people for shows, I’m sure they don’t say what they’re looking for but idk
You look exactly like Demi Levoto
Never give up you’ll get it!!
Yay, I love her -- that's a huge compliment!!
She doesn’t look anything like her !😂but still pretty
She doesn’t look anything like her !😂but still pretty
Idk you but I’m so proud of you!! The people who get casted are always the ones who have auditioned at least once before! Good job :) I want to do the Disney college program and I’m super excited even if I’m picking up trash lol but i want to audition for sure, thanks for this!! ❤️
Yay, I'm glad me and my video had any positive effect on you at all! I hope to see that dcp dream come true for even more than picking up garbage!
If you think of this new process is cutthroat. Try Broadway
@@colbyjones7486 I just said it's not cutthroat like broadway...
Is it weird to feel so inspired by someone this much younger than you? Haha, thanks for the cute story :)
Hi Natalie,
Natalie Ever After well wherever you end up, I’ll come see you! ❤️❤️❤️
@@AllisonMertzman Ok hold up.
Just check out your channel and now I know what I'm doing with my next hour omg.
You and your wife are so beautiful together, I'm going to cry. NGL somewhat preparing to take over your life and would be completely ok with that.
@@NatalieEverAfter Oh my gosh you're too sweet! Hahah enjoy :)
(This was for Disney world, by the way)
It's wonderful to hear another person's input on the auditions.
Saving this comment and framing it on my wall. Being compared to Belle just gets me goin'!
I have no idea why this would have came up in my recommendations, but it’s interesting to hear the process. Good luck in the future!
First try is almost never it, just gotta keep a positive attitude!
It’s comforting to know you’re not alone (even though obviously most people get rejected since there are a few spots and a lot of people auditioning so you know lots of people get rejected, but that’s diff than emotionally going through it)
I just want to thank you for posting this.
In all honesty, I'd probably be best off put in a class with 8-year-olds, but I'd feel way too weird.
hehe no worries, most dance studios except all levels of dancers, unless of course you’re going the abby lee dance company route :)))
Failing is part of it. Good job! Keep at it
aww! i don’t like seeing you so upset! you’re amazing and i really hope you try again because you WILL get it eventually!
this happened to me today and i came straight to this video. i was at a singing audition and i got so nervous my throat kept drying up even after chugging a whole bottle of water. i kept choking on words and i couldn’t sing properly. i felt so bad afterwards i couldn’t stop crying for hours on end, still crying now. i’m not upset that i probably won’t make it anymore, i’m just disappointed in myself because i feel like i could’ve done so much better and i just failed it and made a complete fool of myself. i have to wait a complete year and come back in defeat next year with new songs. i spent so long practicing and learning lyrics (which, this time, i felt like it was so much harder than usual). i spent so much time and effort which i could’ve spent doing other things to just fail and disappoint myself.
it’s weird because, i’m usually perfectly fine in front of like my entire class, or even entire year, but in front of just 4 people is so intimidating because you know they are watching you and taking notes on your performance and singing.
*ugh i’m so pissed off, can y’all like this so when i get my results i can update this (probably around february next year)*
i’ll hopefully be able to make an update for people if people even care about my stupid life lmao
to my future self:
i hope i make it, that’d be absolutely amazing and an incredible opportunity, but if not. don’t worry about it, we now have time to have a better song choice and practice until it’s completely perfect so don’t worry too much about it.
okay well edit i guess?: its february and by now singing isnt my main instrument anymore, guitar is! i find im much better at this than singing. as you can probably tell, i didnt make it in, which was obvious but thats okay! i feel like ive got new paths now :)
YOU GOT THIS. They weren't ready for how awesome you're gonna be. And that time spent practicing? It could never be wasted. You put energy and effort into something that matters to you, something that betters your skills. Please, please, please update this because I can't wait to congratulate you when you get it! 😊
Natalie Ever After
i’m gonna update tysm for the support luckily a few days later i’m feeling better, still don’t think i’m gonna make it tho 😂 i’ll update neverlethess
lol its february of next year, too bad covid probably messed it up though. but good luck if u ever do audition again!
I just wanna say, don’t stop auditioning. It took me 5 years of auditions and now I’m a vocalist at Hong Kong Disneyland! Just keep going! I know it hurts but that’s because you truly want it. Keep going! ✨♥️
I'm so proud of you, that's amazing. It's always wonderful to hear when dedication pays off!
I just wanted to say the way you edit is everything.
Girl, you're making me blush. TYSM!
This was in my recommendations! Never ever give up❤
You have such a wonderful spirit sorry this wasn’t the greatest fist experience but you’ll find your time to shine for sure
Of course! It's all about perseverance. :)
You are so pretty! Don’t give up girl!❤️
Awe, thank you!
Natalie Ever After oh I will definitely let you know!!! Thanks! 😊
they are so so so specific and literally every single audition is different! don't beat yourself up, I know someone who was cut in the first round the first time and came back and was hired as a face character the second time. it really depends on what characters they need the most at that time.
Of course, I wasn't a good fit this time, but there are always other opportunities. Adventure is out there!
If you fail, try and try again! Disney's princesses often failed in their first attempts in great leaps! Your time will come! I wish you the best! ❤❤❤❤
Thank you, I can't wait to keep going!
Glad I could be of some help! Failure feels awful at first, but it's part of learning -- don't give up :)
I auditioned for Disneyland Paris and was accepted so many times, yet I didn't hear anything- it's just the 'showbiz' world so no nard feelings x
Omg that's me! @ 0:40 I'm considering going to a DCL dancer audition tomorrow at that same studio just for more audition experience because I do want to finish school first
Okay wait I should have finished the whole video. I forgot that I rode with you. I hope you've been well!
You are so lovely and beautiful!!! I’ve been in auditions like that and have felt so sad haha so I really feel for you! 💚💚 I’m excited to have found your channel and to be subbed. 😁❤️ You are ABSOLUTELY a Princess! 💕
Aww thank you so much, cutie! I really appreciate you going out of your way to be so kind and joining the channel! I can't wait to upload again :)
😁🌸😍💕😎
I'm glad you put yourself out there and showed up for the audition! The way you critiqued yourself sounds healthy and honest, which is important when auditioning. As a former cast member (Disney World and Hong Kong Disneyland), I want to offer some friendly advice for your next audition:
1) Do a physical warm-up before you head to the audition location.
