As in prison, as in life. Bullies are with us all the time, and as Ricky says, if you don’t stand up, then they’ll be at you forevermore. Even if it means you get hurt, go down fighting. These sort of people respect only one thing: superior violence. You can’t reason with people like this. Hurt them!
For those of us who have absolutely no experience of prison, I think what would scare me the most is that if you're small and weak the screws won't protect you. I have mixed feelings about this though. I hope those two little scrotes who m***ered Jamie Bulger got hurt on a daily basis and no one was looking.
@@SuzyQ334 As I recall they got photographed in Spain at one time with prison social workers having a free holiday (was blasted all over the press), so doubt any harm has ever come to them while serving time. They are a protected class, sadly

But, of course, one of them (Jon Venables) didn't learn his lesson from having his liberty withheld for 8 years, and was caught downloading very extreme child porn, possibly that utterly awful Daisy's Destruction that 60 Minutes was going on about a few years ago, believed to be the most horrific child porn ever produced, and was recalled back to custody, in that case an adult prison, and was said to have been beaten up to within an inch of his life at one point. Anyone downloading Daisy's Destruction would probably get life for doing so, given the horrifying description of that video given by 60 Minutes. Peter Gerard Scully was one horrific mo'fo, the equal of which would probably only be found in the Hollywood secret societies, said to have been outed by Justin Bieber a few years ago, when them cretins tried in vain to get him to join their billionaires "club". Several pop stars are believed to have indulged in that awful behaviour and are protected by the "club" till they die. Absolutely sickening. Definitely highly satanic in nature.

There are instances of violence in prison but if you keep your head down, DONT BORROW, and are assertive not passive nor aggressive you’ll be ok.. I was petrified, not a hard man but not a melt either, just an average normal guy.. after the first week it was ok, sometimes even a laugh. A lot depends on who your banged up with in terms of passing the time. You’ll see who’s decent and who’s a wrongun, align yourself with the ppl you can relate too.. most ppl if they’ve got the right attitude will get through it with no issues.. and use humour as a deflection. If your generally someone who gets along with ppl this will be the case inside
Probably the best summary I've read regarding getting banged up. Most times all we ever hear are the war stories "He said this, so I did that" but that's not typical of your time. Yes there can be exceptional instances, but they are rare. Keep your head down, your nose clean, make the right mates, but most importantly, like the man said, DO NOT BORROW!!
The best thing I ever heard someone say was your not expected to stand tall but you have to stand up

Been prison a few times, I ain’t a big lad, 5’5ish but never once had any drama in prison. Feel like I hold myself well but I’ve never even had to shout. Stay away from drugs and debt is all I can say

And the white ones sometimes are put through the meat grinder by the screws and system just for reverting to Islam while being white. Thanks! I have a 15 yr old son… he’s a good kid, does well in and likes school. Studies martial arts. A good person.
I showed him this video and he was like “ mom I’m already 6’1 at 15.. I know I could hurt someone so I surround my self with ppl like me… we want to have a future, are not interested in feeing up! And you’d kick my butt if I did”
So thank you for explaining what can happen if you end doing something dumb, not meaning your a bad person. Just if get caught up and the consequences ❤❤

I've been researching and building together a portfolio to apply for a social enterprise community intervention centres that help young adults learn, confront and deal with childhood trauma etc it will also encourage children and parents to reconnect and work through present immediate trauma. I would love to hear Ricky's views on this as I would love to champion people who change their lives to be active direct community inspirations: I honestly believe knowledge is power _ You can't be what you don't see : so let's show them - safely with no strings attached : i wish the world had access to my thai boxing coach (chris carley mma clinic) he changed my life _ and inturn my childrens 🙏🤝 I'd love to give some of that back 🙏

@Behind the Bars TV - Ricky Killeen I've been planning it for 7 years it started a community club until I realised more was needed I started family fight club in Islington boxing club on Saturday encouraging parents (specially single mums ) to train together (thai boxing) but I realised there was a deeper problem brought on by dv experiences and the atmosphere so needed more care and consideration incentives etc in how I can encourage people to join working on their physical health _ inturn mental health and then encouraging them to gain employability that suits their needs ( as I started my own cleaning business I'd be more then happy to help others get a foot in too _ provided the centre has seen the effort to evolve and not revolve)
Il get there _ il definitely need all of the opinions of reformed characters _ the key is it being a safe space _ in a dangerous place : like my fightclub 🤝🙏

Couldn't agree more mate, happens everywhere you go in every prison, had to stick in on someone in ranby and lindholme back in the day just so I didn't get terrorised was only a young lad myself, but as you know more than most they feed off any weakness

Ricky, great & pertinent advice. As a teacher in the community education setting l have talked to hundreds of teenage males about not getting involved with things that would land them inside. Their most common reply "l'll just smash the biggest guy in there!" The consequences don't seem real to them but watching your videos & listening to your advice seems to have struck a chord with some of the young offenders under my charge. Well done.

Recently found your channel. Really like it thanks.
I know your videos are all about the prison system but I recently watched the one on your life story and it got me thinking. You said that before going away your target was to go into prison and when you were inside you ended up leaving about business management, bricklaying, fitness and writing a book etc.
With that, could you maybe do another video on yourself and talk about what you think your life would have been like if you never got that first sentence? It seems you've really sorted your life out thanks to prison to a degree and it would be interesting to hear your own perspective
I see plenty of people in prison who can't defend themselves and they are just fine nobody troubles them, in fact some of them are high up in the pecking order, it's not what you know/can do it's who you know and how you interact with people if u look for problems you get them
Most are but there's loads that get tortured on a daily basis whether it be verbal or physical
Yet again, some good yarns, love listening.

Best thing is to be yourself , don't get stuff on tick, dont let anyone take libertys, for example, if people ask to borrow a rizla , say no, coz once you show your give your shit away, they will take everything.

The holding cellis when you find out how it's all going to go. It's where you meet people you know on the outside or you've done time with.
Prison is as easy or as hard as you want it to be.... Don't go in with an attitude or you will find trouble. Go in and treat people with respect but don't back down if you can. I got on ok because I made it my job to find out who the proper nutters were and steer clear of them never borrow and never lend. I have a great sense of humour so made the lads laugh. Keep your head down and you should be fine

@@dovainis112 because even when you pay it back they still think that they have done you a favour and they will also pressure you to borrow again and will act like your friends and say you can have more if you want and pay it back anytime but there is always a catch....then before you know it you owe them an amount that you can't cover and now you work for them and you can't back out or you will get hurt so best to not go down that road in the first place because it never ends well.... trust me I've seen it again and again!

That’s pretty much the size of it. Even if you keep your head down, there will be minor tests at the very least. The only time I had a test free sentence was at a local nick where we had large numbers of people from my area.
The worst prospect is where you’re an out-of-towner in another part of the country 😄😉

Best way to defend yourself is to just fight back anyway, what choice do you have? What i would do is get educated about the place from people like yourself, take up a martial art or other fight style . Learn the do's n don'ts etc.

When I was a teenager I went to a young offenders...I see a black lad picking on a little Indian kid ..for months he was making him clean his cell , took his pudding , took his canteen , made him do stupid things ..then one morning the Indian kid come out to breakfast with 2 razors melted into a toothbrush 🪥 and from behind cut the black kid from ear to ear ...it was right Infront of me and I was sick in my breakfast..I see his back teeth as his face flopped down ..we never see that black kid or Indian kid again ..

My first sentence was glen parva Iuckly I had friends that had done time in prison so knew what to expect, but like you said kids these days think is easy by seeing the stuff on tiktok till they land inside then shit gets real 😁😁
