That's a neat solution for the wires on the windshield. Next up, what about some in car footage of you driving at highway speeds? You could also angle the exhaust tip a bit of the side so the air/noise is directed out the side. It may help with sound in the cabin as its not dumping onto the road under your rig
@@lexus_offroad_adventures that’s interesting. Thought it would drone about. I’m tempted to cut the muffler out in the middle. 50 likes and I’ll do it 🤣
In theory, you can also run wiring through the firewall, up a column, and out of a roof rack bolt hole. I'll be trying this out in a couple months. The windshield trim is a great idea though.
You still have the muffler right? I did a straight pipe but I think cutting the resonator will be too much drone for me. Also did you have to regear for 35s?
Only for departure angle! I want a quiet exhaust. Also, my GX had a minor rear collision (some car ran into the hitch) so the exhaust hung a bit lower than stock I think. Wanted to get rid of it. For gas mileage, I don’t see any change really. Still sucks 😅
I can’t tell you for sure for your car but here are the variables: Wheel offset, Alignment (specifically, caster), and lift height. Add tire width as another variable as well. You can adjust these variables to fit them without a chop.
I had to chop mine for 33's (3" lift, properly aligned, caster normal, and I got rub with and without spidertrax 3/4" spacers). Another factor is wheel travel. If you're using a stock lower control arm and oversized upper (e.g., SPC), that's one thing. If you've significantly changed this setup, that's another. I have 2.5" King OEM Performance coilovers in front, so wheel travel is close to stock.
Killing it with the multiple 470 channel content
🔥🔥🔥 thank you!
Was thinking about doing this, now I will be doing it. Thanks. 👍🏻👍🏻
Music is a tad bit distracting. Maybe a little lower for future vids? 😎👍🏼
I turn it all the way down on the TH-cam mixer. Can’t get it any lower. Totally agree I’d like to have it half this volume

Thanks! At highway speeds, all I can hear are the mud-terrain tires. The exhaust is still fairly quiet.

I did this to direct heat away from a luggage tray that I sometimes use
@David Holder yep my cooler tires melted in to my rack, I'm gonna do the same. link on the part?
the last few seconds was the best part for me. I want side lights off the roof rack and was struggling to come up with a no-drill solution. Thanks.

You should head out to AZ. And we should get the gx's together and hit up some trails out here by the Grand Canyon.
Definitely need to get out to AZ more!
How's drive car on the highway for cut off resonters,It's drone inside when you keep 1500-2000rpm?
No drone at all. Tires are louder than exhaust by far. Unless you pin it and drop down a gear
You still have the muffler right? I did a straight pipe but I think cutting the resonator will be too much drone for me. Also did you have to regear for 35s?
Yep muffler is still there on mine. Regear is coming soon!
Is that just for noise and departure angle? Have you noticed any benefit on gas mileage?

I'm sure you've addressed this before but is a bodymount chop required to clear 33s?

The answer is no, 265 65 217 fits with 1.5 inch over stock ride height

I might chop mine off, it sounds like a stock v8 ameran truck with it removed. That’s the tone I like because it won’t drone.
Yeah no real drone that I can hear. Especially with A/T or M/T tires
Get the magnaflow overlander. 700 bucks. Perfect tone.
Maybe one day, but just for underbody clearance. I actually like the quiet exhaust 😬
Straight pipe it first before you get the Magnaflow muffler. It's not that loud IMO.
@@PittiesAndMore not meant to be loud, just a perfect tone. I added mi e just to tell the engine is on. GX too quiet
Recycle the resonator
Good idea 👌
Straight headers and a bit of Cam !
Haha this build is meant to be low, slow and reliable but man I’d love to hear the 2UZ sing
I think electric would sound better
How’s that cyber truck order treating ya?
Wrong thread ;) lol
Cut the muffler bro
A couple years back, I would have. Different priorities now
