    I have a similar Firestone kit on my 3500 and will never have a truck without them…. It is nice to be able to level myself out, and keep my headlights where they belong.

      I like that my Titan XD has dial on the dash that lets me dip/aim my headlights when I'm towing heavy so the light is on the road where it belongs and not blinding oncoming traffic. Toyota has had this since 07 and Nissan also has it. Im really surprised the big 3 never offered this, especially in 3/4 tons and up because they're the leaders in pickups when it comes to things like towing/hauling for the most part.

    Very cool to have air bags. Had them on my 2018 GMC 3500HD and always was able to tow level.

    Idk Tim, I feel like people that add air bags to their pickups for towing are living in the past. Weight distribution hitches are the only way to go. Adjustability, anti sway, and it makes the ride so much smoother.

    • @ALMX5DP
      @ALMX5DP ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Airbags dont negate the need for weight distribution, but can still compliment a WD setup.

    • @jakesvideos8204
      @jakesvideos8204 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would agree however with these thin lipert tongues most rvs come with and lots of them are folding up like a beer can with the weight distribution hitches. My trailer has a Lippert I am not blaming lippert as they only supply what the rv manufacturer requests.

    A more affordable option in my opinion are the Air Lift ones, especially if you have a 1/2 ton.

    Pricey for sure, first time you put your foot on the bumper that brass fitting will likely brake.

    Loved mine on my 2020 tundra. Did have some disturbing frame twerk though when towing without a weight distribution hitch. Had no fear about the tundra rear axle, but i would on a Chevy. That's just me though. Haven't had a 1/2 ton chevy to abuse since the 80s

    Lucky for me my truck came with them. However, you need to total your cost of ownership for mods you did to improve the truck (airbags,larger oil pan, etc.). That way people can see the true cost and decide if it's cheaper to just get it from the factory.

    Great information about the Firestone airbags and air command duty compressor kit. I’m been wanting to add the same system to my 3500 Silverado 2016. You should add more about the compressor kit installation on the video. I believe it’s worth it the money if you hauled big loads and travel with it.

    TIME have my lightning pro deposit done and ordered as of last Saturday. Antimatter Blue. Canada only has a small allocation for these, have to sell 2 models in order to get the rebate, Pro and XLT. That's the only reason you can buy a Pro retail up here apparently. Quite a good deal. Did spray in bed liner, small charger, tonneau cover and mud flaps. Kept it cheap and simple. Might have to drive the Ram for another year waiting for it, but could be as short as 4 months. Currently I'm paying 24 dollars Canadian to drive 100 km, this rig will cost me under 4 dollars for the same distance (plugging in at home).

    To be honest, I'm pretty torn about all of this "free" stuff that you keep putting on your truck. I appreciate seeing how it works, but I'm also torn as to whether free equipment gets the same scrutiny as stuff you purchase with your own cash.
    Given that this thing is in, I'd really like to see how it impacts rear axle flex (as in RTI); it seems to me that this limits suspension flex. Also, as an owner of a competitor's system, if you happen to own this contraption through the winter, I would be quite interested. I live in cold part of Alaska and I get "Compressor Freeze" alarms all winter long. Works well 8 months of the year.

    These can ride harshly, even when deflated. How’s the ride? Unit should have a wireless remote with red LEDs. Is the compressor slow? I have to install these in my truck but I have a rear axle flip kit to level truck. I might need additional parts for my app. Thanks for the how to! 👍

    WDH must be the first choice. For safety reasons. WDH adds load to the front axle helps steering and braking.
    Air springs can’t do that.
