  • Japan Travel Guide and Must Know Tips Before Flying to Japan. These are the Must-do things you should know before flying to Japan before it's too late. Japan Travel for some is a once in a lifetime opportunity and I want to make sure you are prepared before coming to Japan. Knowing what you can do and what you need to prepare before coming to Japan will help you save time and money as well as ensure that you don't miss some of the things that you want to do. Having a proper data plan and getting a SIM card in Japan, reserving Michelin restaurants, purchasing a JR Pass, booking that onsen ryokan hotel, getting Tokyo Disney resort plans sorted, purchasing sumo and Japanese baseball tickets, bringing prescription medicine to Japan and evening sorting out your Japan visa for the trip are all things you should consider before flying to Japan. In this video, I go through the details and provide all the necessary links so you don't miss out on anything for your trip in Japan.

Ethan I wanted to mention how hard these are to get for foreigners. They only offer a few hundred tickets each month. We got ours from the Lawson ticketing website last September for our October visit (they roll the tickets out 1 month in advance, I.e. tix for Oct 10 come available for online purchase Sep 10. Each of the four of us got on separate computers and kept hitting refresh! refresh! trying to log on and complete the purchase. After 45 minutes or so I broke thru and bought our tix. Only ten bucks each but what a pain (but totally worth it)! Note the place is always busy- we went on a October Friday afternoon and it was PACKED, but super cool! Do it!

You can buy them in Japan at a machine found at 7-11 or Family Mart. The problem is that those machines are in Japanese only. My friend and I went to Japan a few years ago and she assured us that we could buy the ticket in Japan. But we didn't read Japanese... one of the staff at 7-11 helped us got the tickets.

Plus, bring lots water and a fan! Take lots of breaks in between! They sell electric travel fans for about 1000¥, super cheap and very convenient! Saved my butt on my last trip. Haha. Otherwise I hope you have a great time! :)

I always learn where to go and what to see as I travel. His way of travelling ensures that your entire trip is seeing things you can find out about from America or wherever your home is.
It is sad if that is the "beat way to visit Japan", with a choose some from a canned travel package with many choices. Like a kind of "live" predigested Japanese village as seen through the eyes of a concierge at a top hotel.
