      To be fair you don't really change the base ISO 800 on cinema cameras, it's completely different than DSLRs or mirrorless - but yeah, that's absurd

      I.S.O no longer exists as a necessary measurement, it was a standardization of rolled film. Along comes digital, and and iso, is no longer needed to bake the cake. All things can be done in Post.

    • @BinaryCounter

      @@cooloox Yes, that's clearly Windows 10.
      Also this is not a Mac vs Windows thing, i wouldn't want Mac on my camera either. This needs to run a custom built realtime OS. That way they have no interruption, no crashes, no background tasks and it starts up in a fraction of a second. Canon does this, Sony does this, every major camera company does this.
      You don't put a freaking desktop OS on a camera and expect it to be stable. At the very least it should use Linux with a realtime kernel.

    • @jimbopaw
      @jimbopaw 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@riaandebeer6718 Well from my short research I read that it is not real-time. As for medical devices, it might be used in conjunction with a RTOS or circuitry - and also we don't know in what type of applications it is used - like does it gather results from an x-ray machine or does it directly regulate a life support machine? So anyway it can probably do the job for cameras but I don't think it's the best option, the lighter, smaller other RTOS options are better in my opinion.

Maybe because I am a spanish content creator, and I know there is a lot of talent here in the cinema, photography and video world. But somehow this kind of cheap, awful, ugly way of doing things of spanish people can still be seen in many many areas. In many other areas people just don't feel spanish at all, and that's why we all look outside or become part of the so called "brain drain". @@user-yv2cz8oj1k Yeah, it's never nice to see that happen but I think when you are an adopter of something that is not yet proven you need to understand that the risks are huge. There are thousands of funding projects each year that get fully funded and never see the light of day with no one receiving their money back. Some are genuine and some are just outright scams, but either way, there is a lot of risk in anything like that. If you don't want risk, you just buy a camera off the shelf.

    Something tells me this was a last ditch effort by Cinemartin to get their camera into the hands of someone who might be able to use it and give them enough support to keep going. Unfortunately it seems like this camera was not at all in a usable state. If anything it looked like a prototype, and some of the "features" they show on their website appear to explain away engineering issues. "Shipping in two months" with a product like this means these guys probably didn't have a clue of what they were actually trying to accomplish.

    I was actually laughing at your pain and suffering at one point during the video, strictly out of fun and light hearted-ness. It’s so crazy how cobbled together this camera still is. I mean, it literally looks like a high school shop class project at this point. Having said that, I agree with Philip that its always nice to see the “smaller guy” be a disruptor.

      I'll give them the benefit of the doubt. Not sure what they were thinking though. Would anyone start a high-end camera company seemingly without a clue? Scammers wouldn't send a non-working prototype out to Mr. Bloom, they'd just keep over-promising and never deliver.
      I guess kindest way of putting it is they are delusional...

    • @jimbopaw
      @jimbopaw 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@scottslotterbeck3796 How much does it cost to produce this "prototype"? A few thousand dollars? How much do you think their "promotional video" cost? Probably shot on a phone by an unpaid intern. How about their website? Probably hired the cheapest web developer they could find and ended up not paying.
      That's not much money considering the potential returns. Just a few "pre-orders" and a bit of investment, and they're all good.
