Stops are great, but I can't tell you how many times, my stop got hit and price ran right back up again. Which lead me to realize, institutions put buy orders where most people put their stops, which forces you to sell to them. So, now if I know my entry was good, I put a larger than usual stop on, then I tighten and trail my stop once the trade gets going in my direction. It's working great so far.
If you're constantly getting stopped out then the stock rips higher you're likely not being patient enough for the correct buy point. Have you tried buying undercut and rallies instead of breakouts?
Here are his 2023 Stats: 2023 Trading Stats: 50% Win Rate Avg Gain: 3.25% Avg Loss: -2.3% Total Trades: 152 I would highly recommend watching his prior interview as well th-cam.com/video/q43pkYBo1hU/w-d-xo.html
Another great interview full of learnings. Thanks Deepak and Richard. I had a question on booking profits, thanks for asking that and getting it clarified.
Depends on the strength of the company's growth. I would buy more into it and patiently wait for the stock to rise again. You lose when you sell as the stock falls or when there's market correction...in my opinion.
Very good question, I dont know what Mr Uppal will do in this case when he is fully loaded like 75% in one stock? 20% down on a 75% stock will shave off 15% from the portfolio. Scary!!! Hope he replies.
@@ObiDaGuard Dont get me wrong, what you are suggesting is called bagholding in a traders language 😁. A short term trader becomes a long term investor. As a trader, I would never buy after the predetermined levels are invalidated. As a investor may be yes.
Deepak the GOAT …great insights 👍🏽👍🏽💪🏽💪🏽. Really enjoyed the discussion on how market direction influences your trade and should factor in risk management. Also great to see some of your successful and non-successful trades Position sizing slide is a gem, lot of wisdom.
TraderLion! Love these videos. I have trouble scanning for stocks. Do you have a video on it? Can you ask the guests how they scan? So it is easy to try their strategy!
A great presentation. Your style of trading is not like mine, but I believe you are teacher at heart and communicate very ckearly. I love Dan Fitzpatrick, also.
Please add question to All of your interviewers - How do you handle wash-sale rule when trading in/out of the same stock frequently? Maybe i missed it in this one.....
Does anyone know what happened to Deepak in this years competition? I saw he was up the first half and now he’s dropped off the list for the second half. I hope he’s still hanging on to gains!
Such a great interview, a lot of useful infomation I have one question is that how traders can keep track their trading journal for ex what number they put in after every trade? If you can make a video about this it will be so awsome Thank you
I take the same risk 1-1.5% but much smaller size. Much more room to move so less screen time. I wonder if I could do better? Thanks. Crazy how I took most of these trades but did much worse % at the end of the year. I thought I had a good year at the same time. Lol
We can all get better! That's what this channel is about, learning from others. Position sizing for competition traders is what allows them to have outrageous returns, but not something I'd compare to unless your in the performance stage of your trading journey.

Are u a day trader??
intresting, if you put a larger than usual stop, your position size is smaller?
@@tomato778 of course, add to your position as it goes in your direction. Scale in.

Great interview thank you both

Excellent!
39:14 What if the stock gaps down?!!! Say around 5-10% , at times 20%. How would you behave in such a scenario? Curious for the reply
You sell asap! What else can you do!
Depends on the strength of the company's growth.
I would buy more into it and patiently wait for the stock to rise again.
You lose when you sell as the stock falls or when there's market correction...in my opinion.
If a stop drops past your stop you sell. You have to approach trading with a law of large numbers mindset to be consistent in the long term.

I agree. All stocks have different behaviors. Good interview
Thanks!
Thanks for wisdom 🎉

I must say an excellent session. Really appreciated

Will do! I would also recommend our ultimate screening guide: deepvue.com/screening-guide/
Deepvue has screener settings you can use.
Such a great video, thanks for sharing!
Agreed! I always learn something new from Deepak. Glad you enjoyed it!

Could you put a reference to the portfolio tracker xls?
You can ask him on Twitter: x.com/duppal75
Can we have an example of the spreadsheet and use it on our trades?

The Rule is about "Let winners run and cut losers" as a way of life. Not just in trading, in life, so you can apply it to trading and own it

Would really like to see those champions post their actual trades that got them those returns. Not a single one would.
In my previous podcast with Deepak we went through many of his trades step by step. With Marios as well
I like how he would have moved the SL on TSLA trade but not the others.Hindsight is brilliant.
Study the past to prepare for the future!
I like how he ratchet the tight stop on a stock that shoots right up but not on his actual trades.

Traders don't have to report each month. I believe Deepak only reports quarterly results!

Regarding full time trading, only took me 28 years to get there...what took you so long!? Lol
He probably worked full time. When retired, went full time
😂 You can definitely work full time and trade on the side and still make great returns.
