Your mother’s intuition and protectiveness of your baby is strong already. Good for you for making the decision to live in the house for now where you and baby will be most comfortable. You are wise to follow your instincts and pay attention to your needs for wellbeing. Wishing you well, Christine. ❤

You’re such an inspiration! I did the traditional path - I have a high paying career as an attorney, a place to live, cars, great education for my son, etc. From the outside it looks like I have everything. Inside I’m screaming.
I’ve realized the life I’ve lived is incredibly harmful to my family and my emotional and physical well-being. I’m going to make changes like you have. I have no plan in place. Im just going to feel and learn as I go. I cannot ignore the call to tear everything down and start over anymore. It’s so scary! But I know we both will find our way. :) Much love!

….. the door opening is because of the fire pulling in air from every tiny place it can. It’s surprisingly strong. It will also make the materials in the house swell and shrink a it warms and cools making it creak and crackle throughout the day.

As the beauty of winter’s light surrounds you, I feel for you as I watch this. Your gift of fortitude and resolve is remarkable. As difficult as you find yourself in the Nordic cold especially in your first to second trimester, your strength will get you and baby through this and the coming winter weeks! The hot summer months would not be more comforting! You have a beautiful environment (the forests!) surrounding you and I see such a healthy future for you and your baby -- to be nurtured in such a place is so gratifying for a mother to be! May you be Blessed with continued health! 💜🤗💖👶❤

It is so enduring to watch how painstakingly your baby’s papa is trying to make your family home ready for you and your new baby. He is a real treasure and will be an incredible papa very soon. I wish all three of you a very happy home all under one roof.

Genuine advise: use warm, wooly gloves when outside. Also to keep yourself warm you can use hot water bottle during the day and at night in the bed. You can either make one yourself or buy one in a store. That will keep you warm and will see you through the winter months. Take care of yourself and the baby. All the best to you.

You are living an authentic life, being true to yourself. That is something to be extremely proud of! I honestly think it’s the kind of life that we were all meant to live as human beings, connected to every possible aspect of life and the natural world. Your videos are stunningly gorgeous. Two words for 2024: awaken & vitalize!

Hi Christine: I can empathize with your love-hate relationship with the bitter cold where you live, especially while pregnant and just trying to stay warm in minus-degree weather. The energy your body requires just to keep warm while simultaneously growing a child inside of you certainly isn't easy. Yet as cold and challenging as it can be sometimes to live in the arctic north, you still can wake up the next day and experience a feeling of awe and delight to live where you do. That's wonderful how you are "re-wilding" yourself, while embracing a simpler, more basic lifestyle. Give yourself a pat on your back for your courage to take such a big step to move to northern Sweden to live with Kalle, and how much you have grown too. As Henry D. Thoreau once said, "All good things are wild and free." Take good care, Jenny 🐧❄☃🐺🐾🌲

Christine, I feel we are on the same "wavelength," as far as what nourishes our souls and brings us joy. I'm old enough to be your mother, but I still feel young inside! Nature, the stillness of winter, the sound of birds, wind in the trees, replenish me. Heavenly. I love, love animals too! I live in Central Minnesota, in the U.S. I lived on the shores of Lake Superior for 30 years. My heritage is mostly Norwegian. You would have loved it up the north shore, trekking the forests, and watching huge waves break on the shore, especially in winter. You are very brave, following your own path. You are an inspiration to others, young and old alike. 2024 for me means: reconnect with friends and strengthen my body. You see, I just retired at 62 1/2! 😊❤

I think Kalle was keeping her warm. She moved out not him. All this talk about the baby, and how he is the uptmost important thing to consider. The most important person in her life right now is her partner Kalle. He should be her number one focus. Without him she wouldn't be where she is now. He owns half that child.

This week I can relate to the cold you are describing as here in eastern Washington the temperatures are hovering around zero! When the wind blows it cuts through the air! My heart did rejoiced as you showed the oven you bake bread in as my Swedish Grandfather had a bakery in western Washington which the country side looks much like where you are living! He baked wonderful pastries and bread in those ovens! Thank you so much for sharing!

Get yourself a genuine Queen size sheepskin blanket. Also a few 100% merino wool blankets. 100% merino wool sweaters, socks and hats. A few electric heaters would also help. That can be used while you are awake. Do they add solar panels to homes in Sweden?

I'm SO very happy to hear your observations and history of 'The House'! Thank you for this post Christine. I began following Kalle in the early part of his blogging journey, however, over the past two years my own path shifted and I haven't kept up as I did owing to those things. Kalle offered wonderfully honest and detailed stories in combination with increasingly expert videos, which brought me into his (and now your) world in earlier days. In the interim, one thing I didn't have information about was the "house". He (and after his initial move - you as well) had been involved in the cabin and structures created there for the future. Your lives have grown and expanded so much since those beginning times. Love and encouragement to you both and all that is ahead. - Thanks for your insight and honesty from one new subscriber to your channel. You should and must be proud of yourself every day you breathe on this earth, Christine. Best wishes for 2024 and beyond -- Abby in Florida, USA

I have a sincere feeling of protectiveness towards you, as an image of me... in our society where definitely the lifestyle in urban areas has been ruined by the lack of nature, end of local mom and pops shops, natural beauty... I understand well your desire to be free from the headache of urban areas and move to the nature of the north of Sweden.
There is just one thing that I believe could solidify this lifestyle and challenge of loneliness, your man Kalle needs to step up and understand mental/emotional/physical security that comes with a MARRIAGE for life.
I hope he reads this and can find the awareness and mature strength inside of him to be a rock for you, your child and himself now and forever. You have surrendered and are literally giving him the difficult and ever-consuming gift of Life, with you guys' son. Your commitment to this new soul is everlasting, so should be his gratitude and devotion to your wellbeing. I see it in you guys, I believe in you two ♥
Ofc our society tries to anull the need for security and commitment that people have, with 1000 reasons, all coming down to one thing, individual whim.
As a fellow woman in her late 20s, I can tell you Kalle that your woman would rather live on an eternal castle of family love, than a temporary caravan of boyfriend affection. The same is true about your babies needs and wants. No child wants to have their parents broken up.

I've had experiences at home too, also relatively small things like doors opening and unexplainable noises. A few friends have caught weird things in photos at my house too. It's freaked me out at times I wasn't expecting when im home alone, but like you I don't feel scared of it, it isn't an evil vibe. It's just something that's there when you're living in a house that's over 100 years old.

    Dear Christine,
Thank you for the video and for allowing us to be part of your journey. Take good care of yourself and the baby! I send you lots of light and good energies! When it's very cold, woolen hand warmers for the wrists, socks and a cap help me. We lose or retain heat through our heads and feet. Before you talked about the strange noises and sensations in the house, I could already feel it on the screen. It was so totaly strange to me. I am feeling things like that so much. There is something else. There are still some of the families' ancestors in the house. Maybe some parts of their souls. Cleansing the house with incense can help. Very interesting for me. I`d like to come in that house. There's a reason why you and your family live in this house now. But you are safe and protected! Greetings from Germany to all of you! Annette ❤ I heard your last question. Every year I get different since, like animals, feathers etc. This year I see and get hearts everywhere. That's my word for 2024 and of course LOVE! ❤❤❤

Hametz lev is my word. In Hebrew it means- heart courage. Walking through some hard things these past couple years and on a healing journey too, it’s a reminder to have faith and keep my heart open and willing to continue to choose a hopeful, healing, life giving path. I think at any given time it could mean a number of things, I’m sure I’ll figure out new meanings as the year goes on. And it’s not just encouragement through hard times, but courage to keep pursuing dreams and the many beautiful things in my life.
Prayed for you this morning Christine! May there be beautiful encouragements and surprises waiting in the cold and alone times. There is beauty there to be had. Wishing you heart courage, comfort, warmth! and health. I love listening to you. Happy Birthday and Happy New year!

Hello Christine! Thank you for all your inspiration ... My word for 2024 is SELF-BELIEF because I so often feel I am making decisions based on what other people think or expect me to be doing. I am aware these expectations raise huge doubts in my mind about the true path that I wish to follow, which is somewhat different, and this in turn inhibits my ability to trust my instincts and make my own story.

I was a stay at home mom when so many of my acquaintances were working. We had to make material sacrifices but now with my four children all grown, I know it was the right choice. God has provided for us and He will for you. Your baby is more important than material things.

Thank you, dear Christine, for your video. It is beautyfull to see you beeing in your pregnancy and living kind of a life you love. I am not in the same state of life, my three kids are grown up and start their own journeys. My two words, if i have to chose two, are peace and solitude in the meaning of learning to be alone and feel comfortable with it. All the best wishes for you, for your family and for the pregnancy and birth of your baby. Oh, i forgot to say, we share the same prename. And i told anybody the name of my babys before they were born too.

You said you were moving back to the cabin once the baby is there, but things are not getting easier with a newborn, baby, toddler, little child.
The cold, the outhouse, no running warm water... all fun as an adventurous, healthy, young grown up. But for a new mom, breastfeeding, recovering, sleep deprived, exhausted... so tough.

As I am now classified as “elderly” though feel like I am forty, I find myself taking time to enjoy the everyday moments ! My word for 2024 “savor and treasure the moments”! I was to busy and felt anxious when I had my babies! If I could relive those years I would have not felt like my home had to be spic and span, but enjoyed the moments more thoroughly!

Lovely video Christine ❤ My word for 2024 is learnings. I want to put myself in the apprentice skin again and again. Rediscovering the world with new eyes, without that thinking of already knowing something but more like I don't know nothing at all. It's also because I continue my studies in herbalism. I let myself open to want life wants to teach me.

You know that in old houses there is often a natural draught that can cause things to happen that might seem strange. Also they usually are a bit crooked, leaning slightly due to settings in the ground. That can make doors open for example if they are not fitted straightly. Wooden houses also have a lot of sounds going on in the wood, especially at temperature changes as the wood expands or shrinks.
