I was there on the 30th of June just gone. I'd travelled to New York from Somerset in the south west of England. It was nine months since my father's suicide - I was there intent on absorbing every moment of the show but there for one song in particular - "My Father's House".
Having read Bruce's memoir I knew that his songs about his dad came from that same deeply painful place I had, seeing my dad's depression and not being able to do anything but watch his edges fade out and wonder when he might finally slip away. When Bruce played, it was like having my father there beside me again - it was like having someone say, "it's okay, I know what you've been through." Me and my dad used to listen to Nebraska in the living room as I illustrated a comic book of mine - he was more of a jazz man but because he loved me, he'd sit there for hours with me as I studied Bruce's songwriting craft, album after album.
I will never forget this concert because every moment was filled with a deep, deep empathy. There is a vulnerability to Bruce that, ironically, makes him seem invincible. I don't know if you'll ever read this Bruce, but thank you for your honesty and vulnerability, these qualities in your music have helped me process the grief. For me, your music has been my Land of Hope and Dreams.

This is the strength of the Boss... by showing his vulnerability he’s...one of us. Not a rockstar in his own world,a common guy like you and me. Wish more artists could be more like him.

I was lucky enough to see the show three times, and all I have to say is: Thank you Bruce. Thank you. You’ve meant so much to so many in so many times, good and bad. I feel like you’ve been there right next to me for the entire ride of my life, and I was deeply touched to hear you say that we’ve all likewise brought a great deal of joy and meaning to your own life. Our country needs you now as much as we needed you after 9/11, and I know in my heart that you have been, and will continue to be, one of the defining voices of reason and hope throughout this horribly dark period in our history. You give me faith and hope, and some sense of salvation, in being an American. Without you, I would’ve lost all sense of identity and purpose in this mad country a long time ago. So thank you, Bruce. Thank you.

Wow Bruce still sounds the same what a voice what a incredible song! I saw him at a store one time in Wellington Florida and I couldn’t believe my eyes I just stood there couldn’t move for like 20 minutes staring at him! Such a rock star!

The greatest songwriter and live performer of my lifetime. I feel privileged and honoured to have been a massive fan since my last year at High school (1982). Having seen Bruce 24 times since then I safely say they have been some of the highlights of my life. Hope there is still something left in the creative tank for a couple more great albums at least.
Bruuuce!! Saw the October 4th show; best show of his I’ve seen. While other artists choose to cash in in Vegas, Bruce went for the intimacy of the Walter Kerr Theatre. No artist opens up and shares of themself the way Bruce does. Can’t wait for this album, and can’t wait for the Netflix show of the concert.
When is the concert on Netflix
December 15th, I believe. It’s the day after the last concert. Sucky thing is that Ticketmaster is making us join a lottery to be able to watch it. I kid.
Cashing in on Vegas is one thing,but charging $800 a ticket on Broadway to perform solo on a bare stage is ridiculous. I love Bruce,have seen him in concert at least 10 times and on 9/28/17 got to meet him at a book signing. That was one of the greatest days of my life! The whole Broadway ticket price deal has somewhat tempered my Bruce love.

Love this! I was in NYC on vacation with my daughters (we live in L.A.) in July and I was able to score a single to a Saturday show. It just blew me away. The intimacy, the theater is so small. The stories mixed in with the songs. It blew me away. I laughed, I cried. Bruce really opens up to his fans. 2 1/2 hours went by too fast. Looking forward to the Netflix show in December, although I know it won't be quite the same as being there. If you get a chance, GO. Run there! Quite possibly the best $420 I ever spent! Just simply incredible.

God, I love this man. He's brought so much happiness, joy and relaxation to my life. I got to see him in New York City in 2012 on his Wrecking Ball tour. I made a special trip all the way from western Canada (province of Saskatchewan) just to see him. It was a dream come true for me. To this day it almost brings a tear to my eye when I think about the trip. I feel fulfilled (for lack of a better word) knowing that I got to see him in concert at Madison Square Gardens. I can't wait for the day to come when I can see him perform again. God bless you Mr. Bruce Springsteen. God has truly blessed you and everyone you've touched with your music. Thank you for being you!

If you like this song, I recommend that you check out the version from his "Live in New York City" album. I am a huge fan of his and there is value in the solo version, but his performance with the E Streeters is epic. But if you don't like church, don't go there. Better yet go there anyway and see if you don't want to climb on board.
