I see your point. I to vividly remember Exdeath being absorbed and how much chaos he brought to both worlds. If I remember correctly, Exdeath was the first villain to have fatally wounded one of the main heros within the FF series. Other than Sephiroth, no other villain has accomplished this.
Even though Leo wasn't a main character of the story, Kefka murdered him, and countless Espers including the envoy Yura. He even went after their Gods (which tore the planet in two), taking their power and turning them into the guard dogs for his tower. Kefka, a whacked out underling...
Wow, just came across your work on these various encounters. Amazing job, so many things I wished would happen you have created! Nice work man. And in regards to Kefka, who can ever forget the first time you saw him scroll to the top in the final encounter - so epic on SNES :)
Seeing this battle reminded me of Golbez and its 4 elemental minions(fiends). It would be awesome to battle Golbez in FF6 in a hack in one of three ways: 1. By himself, with around 500,000 hp (would be awesome!) 2. Accompanied by a dragon, resembling the fateful battle with cecil in which adult rydia returns to the group. 3. battle the 4 elemental fiends AND Golbez in a single battle, one after another, without chances of healing.
1:52 didn't know jump was so much more powerful. Guess it's all about multiple hits even with slow Cyan let alone a risk of a missed input 2:02 from spinning that dpad.
Nope, Exdeath doesn't come close. I think that Kefka is the best villain square has ever introduced. Sephiroth came close but he only turned out to be a mama's boy... :p
Yes you are correct, hence why I said "most other villains". However, Sephiroth was more of a victim seeking revenge. On the other hand, Kefka is just a psycho.
Really expected to see the old "Ultima>Quick>Ultima>Ultima>Ultima>Ultima" when I saw Terra had X-Magic. I used to use that all the time back in the day. Pretty quickly wrecks most enemies. If you have everyone else use Quick>Ultima>Ultima it'll give you 11 Ultimas per round (if they all live that long). Tends to be the end of the line for most baddies.
@PsychoBurgundy2 I would have preferred them to fix the 65k damage limit though. Using the life loop script is ok but every time the monsters HP is reduced to 0 and begins a new cycle, It's program resets leaving the monsters ATB gauge at 0 delaying the monsters attack sequence a big deal. Much like when you use "Quick" the most overpowered spell in the game.
this goes way back when ff6 hacking was in its infancy. i remember when eternal crystals was a huge deal especially when music hacking became a thing as well.
@PsychoBurgundy2 They probably did that just to save time. When they first released FF6 it was unfinished and contained many bugs. But we still played and enjoyed it to our hearts content. For them these little changes didn't matter too much, so they went with the mentality of "Why fix what isn't broken?"
There were other humans villains in the FF series that was there like Garland and the Emperor and the others I can't remember. Kefka when through a lot of transition to gain his power and goal, Exdeath did not have to go through that because he was already powerful enough to gain his goal by getting the void and it is like the student is better than the teacher lol.
Well, after the infusion but he was still human. He wasn't like most other FF villains who are initially supernatural, or come from some other planet or time or something.
Don't get me wrong, Exdeath is awesome. I just tend to favor Kefka more because he wasn't a supernatural being, or the collected some of all evil, or a mind warping god from another planet. He was a man, a twisted soul who sought supreme power above all else. He wasn't a puppet to a higher power, or a victim seeking revenge. He was just an awful human being and a wonderful bad guy.
Option 2 would have the dragon casting instant-kill spells (like Xzone or death) and constant stop spells. I have many more ideas for attack patterns, but im just giving a suggestion. Awesome hacks BTW.
I think it's from both stat gains from leveling up with Espers that grant MDef, as well as her equipment (I'm guessing she has a Paladin Shield equipped, which really boosts stats overall).
Definitely not as hard as the 1,000,000hp Emperor Dragon (you put that out too I believe??). If I can beat that (which I finally did after A LOT of prep and hardly any Quick usage for attacking) this shouldn't be a problem. Got myself 4 pairs of Marvel Shoes, so bosses have become almost too easy :) If anyone is having troubles with Lord's custom bosses, here's a few tips that I've found that may help. Spending lots of time at the Coliseum will really help you out: 1. Make Edgar a Dragoon (Dragon Boots+Dragon Horn + Aura Lance) if you haven't already. Big damage plus he dodges a lot of damage due to being in the air. Spear's have bonus 2x damage when jumping (why I used the Aura Lance and not Illumina). 2. Get lots of Marvel Shoes and Safety Bits/Ribbons?Amulets. Marvel Shoes = Safe/Shell/Regan/Haste on the wearer and can't be taken away via Dispel or Vengeance spells. Safety Bit/Ribbons/Amulets protect from a shit of load of ailments and instant death. Also have your spellcaster equipped with the Economizer Relic so all spells they cast cost 1MP. 3. Use Fenrir, Golem and Phantom. Their multi-marty spells can protect you for a chunk of these battles. 4. Use armour that blocks magic or adds to magic defense, such as Force Armour, Genji equip., Aegis Shield, Minerva, etc... 5. Back row the entire party so they take half damage from physical attacks. Throw, Bum Rush and Jump don't suffer the halving penalty from the back row so might as well take less damage for free. Also cast Float on everyone to avoid Quake since it's annoying For my party, I use the following (I use these characters because I don't spam Offering or Quick. I want a bit of a challenge. I only use Quick with Terra for healing and such): *All these levels were obtained by grinding. No level hacking was invloved Shadow (Lvl 73, 7775HP, 795MP) Graedus Genji Shield Genji Helmet Genji Armour Relics: Memento Ring, Marvel Shoes Sabin (Lvl 79, 8573HP, 849MP) Tiger Fangs Genji Shield Genji Helmet Red Jacket Relics: Ribbon, Marvel Shoes Terra (Lvl 80, 8618HP, 999MP) Illumina Genji Shield Genji Helmet Minerva Relics: Economizer, Marvel Shoes Edgar (Lvl 82, 8761HP, 855MP) Aura Lance Aegis Shield Genji Helmet Force Armour Relics: Dragon Horn, Dragon Boots Shadow Throws the entire battle (Ninja Stars and Imp Halberds) for 9999 dmg Sabin Bum Rushes the entire battle for 9999dmg Terra heals and deals with all magic statuses Edgar jumps the entire battle doing a shit load of dmg Hope this is helpful :)
+Jose Mejia You must change the name of the patch from "Exdeath" to the name of your rom and drop the patch in the IPS folder of your emulator. In other words, if your rom name is "Final Fantasy III.rom" change the name of the IPS patch that you downloaded from here to "Final Fantasy III.IPS." Make sure it's extension is named IPS, otherwise it will look like a text file and will not work.
That is true however, not many villains are as memorable as Sephiroth and Kefka. In my opinion, Kefka gets the most points as a great villain than any villain square has released. The only thing about him is he doesn't seem to be a villain of the calculative type. Instead he's more of a (Joker) nut. But I guess this is what makes him so great. :)
You know what? I've never thought of that. Maybe Golbez is average height, and the armor is just huge and his feet only go down to the waist. Or he could just be naturally tall. Or maybe Cecil or Golbez are the odd duck of the family, Cecil either being shorter than every one else or Golbez being taller than every body else. I'd go with the later.
Bartz Klauser It's not exactly Exdeath soul, it is Exdeath himself as his human form. It's the same Exdeath that fought and kills Galuf after he resists the powers of Exdeath to save his grand daughter and the party.
This concept holds a strong argument alone. He stole the power of 3 "GODS" and became a God himself. I don't think anything holds more power than a God. But, for the sake of argument we know that both of them are excellent villains and are very powerful. So, imagining who would kick who's ass is hard. My guess is the only way to settle this, is through an all out old fashioned Rock'em Sock'em Robot match, and the ring, Final Fantasy Dissidia.
If he would be put up against the real Exdeath, then Exdeath would have 50,000 HP and Kefka with his 62,000 HP, but he would still probably lose because Exdeath uses a triple combo of Meteor, Flare, and Holy in rapid succession. All of these spells are made to deal high damage. Kefka has Ultima, Hyperdrive, and Forsaken as his high damage spells. However he doesn't use them often. Kefka's HP would be depleted before he could even pull off any of his high damage spells.
Yea he pretty much dwarfs the actors here, I wonder how tall he is in a real world scenario. In this perspective he seems like he might be 7 feet tall.
lol, final fantasy classic logic, when we make our characters in miniature, its only sensible to make our enemy humans 5 times larger! XD
jefthereaper isn’t exdeath an evil tree?
@@Xamracress more like a fusion of above hundreads of evil spirits the who are sealed in the three

Loses points for not being Exdeath's battle theme. Tsk tsk.
I see your point. I to vividly remember Exdeath being absorbed and how much chaos he brought to both worlds. If I remember correctly, Exdeath was the first villain to have fatally wounded one of the main heros within the FF series. Other than Sephiroth, no other villain has accomplished this.

WHAT.
WTF
Wow...looked like a brutal battle. Very nicely done.
Even though Leo wasn't a main character of the story, Kefka murdered him, and countless Espers including the envoy Yura. He even went after their Gods (which tore the planet in two), taking their power and turning them into the guard dogs for his tower. Kefka, a whacked out underling...

wow Exdeath in FF6,amazing!
Combine dragoon boots and dragon horn relic, the dragon horn relic allows you to do jump attacks repeatedly.
I'm surprised you didn't equip Sabin with the Genji Glove and Offering to let him hit 8 times... That's so much more effective than using bum rush :)
1:52 didn't know jump was so much more powerful. Guess it's all about multiple hits even with slow Cyan let alone a risk of a missed input 2:02 from spinning that dpad.
kind of makes you wonder why Cecil isn't as large as his brother.
Ik this is 11 years old but he is on the remake at least
Nope, Exdeath doesn't come close. I think that Kefka is the best villain square has ever introduced. Sephiroth came close but he only turned out to be a mama's boy... :p
You have to take the fact that he was prepared with the right equips to absorb a lot of the attacks. Id say 4/5 but still not that tough IMO.
Ah, one of my favorite Final Fantasy games.
Thanks I appreciate it. I'm glad I can make your wishes reality.
Another who gives his regards to Kefka. :)
Yes you are correct, hence why I said "most other villains". However, Sephiroth was more of a victim seeking revenge. On the other hand, Kefka is just a psycho.
Gotta love all the comment section replies to the video instead of the people.
Why every custom boss i find resides in Darill's Tomb??

Wuznt Exdeath the main baddy of the previous game? I dont remember fighting this guy in FF6
this goes way back when ff6 hacking was in its infancy. i remember when eternal crystals was a huge deal especially when music hacking became a thing as well.
I'm not too sure, but wasn't this colorscheme from Exdeath's phantom? (the one that showed up as a random encounter in the 12-weapon ruins).
It would have been epic if suddenly Gilgamesh came back to help you from the N-zone, epic battle! BTW, what's the song name?
He can in the advanced version, where he is an esper
The song is Dancing Mad (Don't know exactly what tier, I think 1)
Dilan Abdulla yes it’s tier one, the giant demon
@PsychoBurgundy2 They probably did that just to save time. When they first released FF6 it was unfinished and contained many bugs. But we still played and enjoyed it to our hearts content. For them these little changes didn't matter too much, so they went with the mentality of "Why fix what isn't broken?"
@Miksy91 the monster that wears that belt is Emperor Dragon.
Think that music plays during the fight with atma weapon too?
@KojiroArma no that color scheme was much lighter.
@LordEnvoy He was talking about the 2 negative votes for the video :P
What made him overwhelm you? What attacks did he use, and what was the hardest part of the battle?
Power of the VOID
@LordEnvoy had a few minor scripting errors. that and ive never tried recording it. If I get it up and running Ill be sure to show you...
Very good, impresive. There's just...one...element...missing. He should have his music, if that's at all possible.
Yea, considering that the message prompt where the attack name shows up is actually blocking his head, then yea he is freakishly tall.
Well, after the infusion but he was still human. He wasn't like most other FF villains who are initially supernatural, or come from some other planet or time or something.
"What??? You beheld my true power and you're not dead yet??? Perhaps my true power wasn't as cool as I thought..."
:-(
What, Sabin didn't Suplex ExDeath?
Yes and with that logic (or lack there of) the same could be said about countless movies and books too..
Well, Golbez floats a bit off the ground, so that adds some height.
Yes, coming soon.
Markmariofan123 the name of the music is Dancing Mad
What game is that music from. I haven't heard it during any battle in ff6
You should maybe do the fights like zeemis, he made an own rom for an hack so you can start with 99 of each item and right before the boss
Option 2 would have the dragon casting instant-kill spells (like Xzone or death) and constant stop spells. I have many more ideas for attack patterns, but im just giving a suggestion.
Awesome hacks BTW.
Why does Meteo miss Terra every time? How is she special?
I think it's from both stat gains from leveling up with Espers that grant MDef, as well as her equipment (I'm guessing she has a Paladin Shield equipped, which really boosts stats overall).
@mikuelify If you want challenge you can to the right Channel. All my bosses put up one hell of a fight.

@cactuar2 Sounds good let me know when you have a video.
Exdeath: TURTLE!!

@cactuar2 Ran into trouble?
WOW, Exdeath is HUGE!
Head to "Daryls Tomb". He should be found in the first hallway.
If you played later FF versions before this one then, yea. On the other hand, I grew up playing FF so, I thought he was a pretty good villain.
The Margrave card in Dominion reminds me of Cyan lol
:O He sent Edgar to the VOID!
The chad Cyan player
Which is equally awesome
its the first tier of dancing mad during the final battle
Vanish/Doom trick?

im lvl 32 can i beat him?
FellTheSky No
Yea have fun he will literally kill you in seconds
It would be sweet to recreate that battle it' not a bad idea. Thanks for the compliment. :)
how did you create such a boss ? any tutorial somewhere to manipulate a rom ?
+biomecaNICK If there is enough demand for it sure I'll make a few videos on it. ^^d
Existence is misspelled. Goes hand in hand with the game's original typos, I guess
Wacko from Xbox live? The mad guy? Whats up dude? It's always nice to meet another FF fan. So Exdeath is your villain?
how is this possible two different games

@WeaponXSigma I agree, especially after seeing his performance in Dissidia, very disappointing. Easily gets defeated even in Strongest mode, wow.
@brainjuice654 Thats right! ^^
They should remake this like ff7. Even though ff7 is my favorite out of the franchise :)
@MixedAddict Drains and absorbs MP from the target.
I figured I should keep him the same. :)
Lol, sure I'll let you know. And thanks for the offer.
Well, in Dissidia, he seems pretty average height considering the other people in the roster. But here, damnnnnn, he is ridiculously tall.
Meanwhile in Dissidia: *VROOM INTENSIFIES*
ex-death+ff6=double win
should give them safety bit though
Still working on that.
Is Exdeath supposed to be a tough boss, or is he just a neat easter egg type boss?
Yeah, but if you pay attention it's almost nothing. Like half a centimeter.
@WeaponXSigma I had no problem with exdeath until he killed galuf...
