I bought this cleaner today. It literally pulled 20 years of crap out of my carpet that my previous vacuum cleaners obviously missed, and did a great job on the tiled areas.
I am still using a Dyson v6. Getting old but still alive and kickin. These videos help me gague what could be a good purchase for when it does finally stop vacuuming well.
I love how I'm not the only one who is fascinated by vacuums and that within hours there's 14 thousand other people who have also jumped straight onto watch this video
This is a great vacuum cleaner. Allow me to share some of my impressions. I had a Dyson before and I can assure you that Miele is much better. Main pros for me: Miele is much less noisy. It just puts much less stress on your ears which is great. I'm not sure if it's a suction problem or anything but Dyson was having problems with picking cat litter box pieces and it's rotating brush was pushing these pieces away which drived me crazy. Miele has a rubber strip underneath the brush which I think prevents this from happening. Not sure if it was mentioned in the video but rotating brush in Miele recongizes when you're doing carpet and it starts to rotate faster which is really cool. Of course it does come without some disatvantages: Dyson vacuum cleaner felt sturdier to be honest and it was much easier to disassemble. When you reassemble Miele it feels like some pieces are jammed together. Miele dust container is suprisingly uncomfortable to clean. At first I even thought that I am doing something wrong. It feels like it's just not enough space inside the container for dust to come out easily.
One trick I've used is if the dirt is stuck in the bin you can twist the top one notch further and the filter assembly will lift out of the bin and scrape the shroud like a dyson. After your done the whole thing sits back in the container and twists back to close.
That’s what I love about iRobot and Miele you can usually fine the part(iRobot)or have it repaired at many authorized locations(Miele comes with a great warranty)
I got the HX2 version and really like it. The vacuum pulled such an incredible amount of dust out of my carpet that even my corded canister vacuum did not remove. I also like the low center of gravity that you mentioned and that it is very quiet and has a non-irritating pitch to its sound. I noticed the flaws in the cleaner head though, it can really scratch the floor with small stones that get lodged in it. Contrary to your review, I love the emptying mechanism, as the vacuum will stand on its own and you can just take it off with one hand. You dont have to take the cleaning head off or anything like you do with Dysons for example.
I am waiting for them to add a hair cutter as the electrolux has. I have long hair and the cutter is amazing. I also felt the cleaning of the basket was clunky and messy so hoping they fine tune that. The base model is reduced to $600 at the moment and am tempted to get just cos I am tired of Electrolux only lasting 4 years or so. Plus Electrolux flings bigger bits and pieces around the floor. Its a lot to pay tho - much more and even more than the full vacuum cleaner.
this is basically an awesome little machine for the money we bought the cheap(not so cheap but you get what you pay for ) one and it cleans on low power and does a good job on one charge a smaller 4 bed home that self standing and the weight distribution is what sold it to us
Love your reviews so much! And as I have seen all your reviews that I think it would be great to see a significant test in your review, "Cyclone filtration efficiency", it is very important to make sure the vacuum keep great suction power while in use, and I'd love to see which product is good enought to compare with dyson.
I've owned 5 (technically 6, but my dyson v12 died in 2 days so ypu can count that if you want) in the past 2-3 years. I've used the top of the line vacuums from LG, Samsung, and Dyson, and even tried an Electrolux for a small bit, and all of them had issues, and all of them underperformed. Miele is the only company that has provided me with products (specifically in the vacuum space) that have performed above all else. I originally had the C3 and loved it, but they didn't have stick vacuums at the time. But after trialling top flagship vacuums from the 3 biggest players in the space, I'm by far happier with the purchase of my Miele cleaning products. One thing I will say is that despite their vacuums being incredible, I am still yet to try one of their robot vacuums, ecovacs ozmo 920 still going strong and haven't needed to replace that. However in Australia ecovacs is just so fsr ahead of the rest in marketing and availability it's likely I'll be moving to the X1 Omni, or Roborock s7 due to its hub.
I’ve just brought the cat and dog model and WOW I’ve had dysons for the last few years but thought I would try a different make and went for the Miele and it’s brilliant, so much better than the dyson stick vacuum. The only thing against it is that you have to charge the battery separately but as the power is so much better I don’t really mind . I will definitely stay with Miele for some time now .
Not really a pro. The trigger on the Dyson is designed for stop start vacuuming, and it needs only the weight of your hand. The stop-start method saves a few seconds here and there which add up to minutes extra run-time.
Great job as usual! The motor/ dust receptacle being down low probably also helps reduce dust near the face of the person vacuuming too. As a dust allergic person the dust reading is really valuable. Catch22 when vacuuming - stirring up the dust by vacuuming frequently or leaving it be for a bit longer and have less in the air...
I own a Miele canister model and I love it, but I just can’t with these prices, this is 30% more expenisve then the top of the line canister...make it make sense Miele??
I have a Miele canister vacuum and have had it going on 5 years but I hate dragging it around, getting the hose caught, etc. With a new overly furry cat I have been looking for something quick and easy to keep the fur down. I looked at this vacuum and I have to agree that the price is 😳 scary. I wanted the pet version to pick up the fur tumbleweeds. The one thing I've noticed in reviews is that some folks had encountered melting of the plastic bushing(?) the yellow part. For this price that shouldn't be happening. I'm going to keep looking to see what options are out there, though I do like that the motor can be put on the bottom versus by your hand.
Much better review in comparision with ibaisaic. Thanks a lot now I will buy Dyson V11. I have tried pro version in store and it is not comfortable to hold when it is in short mode and when unit is on top.
I read some comments that Miele cordless vacuums (including Triflex HX1) are not sealed systems. And your review in this video also does not test whether this is a sealed system with hepa filtration. Your other videos for Dyson products do test them. Why was that part not tested? Can you please clarify if this is truly sealed?
It's very easy to find that info on your own, and yes it is sealed. He showed the test in this video even! Measured particles in the air that comes out.
I think this is very good, but some improvements needed. Good: You can attach main unit to the lower position what makes it much lighter to use. Power is very good. Low profile cleaning head. Miele quality. Bad: filter needs to be cleaned often. Hair tangle is bad. Not able to pick up large debris. If I would have to choose it would be Lupe. Dyson would be my choice if it hadn't heavy main unit in top of the wand. All these brands are way too expensive.
Do you know if Miele has tweaked its design to better pick up bigger debris? It looks like they have the HX1 "Face Lift" model now. Would love to see you review it as well as their robot vacs. Thanks so much!
I was wondering whether this model will get under my sofa which has a 4" clearance. It doesn't look like it would unless the handle turns so the dust collector is sideways instead of under it. I didn't see you demonstrate whether it does that or what the clearance is unless I missed it.
While you wait for the new Neatos to come out you should buy the older ones “preferably a neato Xv signature pro because that’s the one I have and I want to know it’s stats” and you can review them to see how good they are for people on a budget who still want a robot with mapping
What about the Dysons on medium power? I feel like poeple will assume they only have 2 suction modes and most people seem to use the V11s on medium power for optimal battery life with optimal suction as a good balance between suction and battery life
Great video. One thing I do not like about the triflex is about how much it sticks out from the wall when It hangs on its cradle. Also the led light is extremely useful, and it is sad that miele makes you upgrade to the upper models to get the led light. I agree the dustbin is complicated. Thanks again for your videos.
Sanitaire makes a new commercial cordless vacuum called the quickboost. I would love to see the review on this model as well as a sanitaire tradition with a paper bag or the one with the plastic dust bin and the cloth/paper bag hybrid.
Since it has a harder brush that is not interchangeable for a softer one, wouldn’t it be bad for your hardwood floors? Maybe even scratching it? Thanks
Thanks for reviews, you doing great all time! And i wanna ask to you will you review Philips models too? In Turkey we don't have too much choice and Philips popular brand here so if you could compare against other brands i will be so greatful.
The Germans aren't on board with tangle-free brushrolls yet. They like making one with the best agitation for the design envelope but still make it easy to get the hair off it. Notice the groove in the brushroll and how easy it was to get out. They know hair wrap is going to happen, but they have other things on their mind. For instance, this and the CX1 Blizzard are the first bagless vacuums they've made ever, so for a first try in both markets, it's a good try.
“They [Germans] know hair wrap is going to happen, but they have other things on their mind.” Tangle-free brush rolls are to Miele what well-designed cupholders are to Mercedes-Benz: superfluous.
Thanks for the review! I am wondering if you need to hold the power button down to vacuum. Arthritis in my hands, especially in my thumb can make that action painful.
You don't need to hold down the 3 position switch, you just slide it to the power setting you want and leave it there. That said I have badly deformed fingers from arthritis have no trouble depressing most of the buttons you need to press to take the vacuum apart. I do have some trouble pressing both buttons simultaneously to remove the battery but you really don't need to do that as you can charge it in place.
That dust canister is tiny. How does this compare to the Simplicity Freedom S10CV.6 cordless with a 44 Volt Lithium Ion battery and 312 Watt (7.09 Amp) motor?
I got this vacuum a month ago and do not regret the purchase. The down for me are only two: - The way it clicks to arrange different modes, it doesn’t feel as clicky as other brands. - I do love how you empty the bin, but the walls are small and hair gets stuck and need your finger or something else to release, also would be better if you could wash the filter and they specifically tell you not to, just give it a shake. Will see if the smells goes bad after some time. Other than that, I love the ergonomic, the feel and it’s noise level it’s very low, my cat is less annoyed compared to my previous vacuum.
German engineering at its finest! It really shows in the unique design features of the bin location and handle can be swapped around for better weight distribution. They are leaders in the industry for a reason.
They aren't leaders though. That would be Dyson. Miele have started outsourcing to China, and removed their "made in Germany" from all promotion. This is made in Germany, but most of their other vacuums and appliances are a mix now.
@@Olliebobalong I’m more confused now than I was, Oliver! Love the name Oliver, btw; it’s what I chose to call my cat, a wide-eyed long-haired tuxedo-wearing domestic with a penchant for mayhem. 😑
how about introducing a simple points system. e.g. you give 1 to 3 (nok, ok, good) points to each feature (deep cleaning, handling, price, battery etc), then you multiply all the points, weighted by feature and at the end you give the final result. Could it be doable? Or would be too much work? Thanks.
I love the way miele try to innovate with this product, especially since its made in my country :D But... the lack of a soft roller and knowing the bulkiness of the miele products, this wouldnt be my first choice... But they last an eternity. We bought our last miele product with our house.. a washing machine which had to be disposed of recently since the electric motor gave up after 40 years of service.
Miele quality has slipped, in terms of their washing machines at least. You're better off with Bosch on that front now. I love this Triflex but emptying the bin seems incredibly messy. The filter in the bin is such an old design, clogs easily etc.
Wow! Good to know. My washing machine and dryer are both 20 years old and am thinking of upgrading - maybe I should wait another 20 years! We did have to replace the mother board, springs but still works well. Thanks for sharing
Are there differences in "fog" vs "particle" tests? Some videos show the Triflex failing the fog test, while it passes the particle test here. Is the fog test more stringent or less useful?
I have the Kirby currently i love how many features it has but I hate how heavy it is, and it sucks mostly because I have a two story home so doing the stairs especially is a little difficult! Its not cordless as welll which isnt as bad, but it would be nice if it was cordless. The stairs and the whole of upstairs is carpet down stairs is wood floors and tile. Do you have any recommendations on a really great vacuum that will vacuum well on carpet and hardwood ect.? Please let me know if you know if any high performance light weight vacuum I would really appreciate it.
Take a look at this one - th-cam.com/video/0YyG7ojZG_s/w-d-xo.html. The Duo Clean rollers do well on both carpet and hardwood. The liftaway is good for stairs.
I think it would be very interesting If you test dysons new cinetic big ball absolute 2. Since it claims to be the only vacuum with HEPA like behaviour, but without any filters.
why would anyone want the typical stick configuration if you can change it to have the suction be closer to the cleaner head? I get that it's kind of cool, but what is the advantage of having the traditional configuration?
@@VacuumWars apologies. I should have wrote that you only compared it to the Dyson models. As far as the HX1 acting as an upright, which seemed to be one of your favorite features, mentioning how it compared to the Lupe (also upright) might have been helpful.
3:34 Unito Confusio - there is no such thing as a 2500mA battery, you probably meant to say mAh which is also kinda useless unless you tell us what voltage it's at and at that point you might as well give us the watthours, which is far more useful.
@vacuum wars the website doesn’t seem to work and i didn’t find this in the playlists, from the top (10) vacuums you’ve reviewed, which one is the quietest (e.g. on max power)? thnx!
In my notes I have them pretty much all at around 70-73 db really only the Dyson v10 which is super high pitched and about 81 db was the only cordless that jumped out.

@@Olliebobalong sebo is probably where it’s at now.
@@Olliebobalong Are you saying that where a product is assembled is an indication of how innovative its technology is?
@@sammy7237 no in actual fact, I’m saying nearly the exact opposite. I think you’ll find this original comment insinuated that.
@@Olliebobalong I’m more confused now than I was, Oliver! Love the name Oliver, btw; it’s what I chose to call my cat, a wide-eyed long-haired tuxedo-wearing domestic with a penchant for mayhem. 😑
You sir are a excellent reviewer
I’d like to see a review on the makita robot vacuum because it seems like suck an oddball product.
Thats a good review suggestion!
Please do the bissell featherweight turbo
how about introducing a simple points system.
e.g. you give 1 to 3 (nok, ok, good) points to each feature (deep cleaning, handling, price, battery etc), then you multiply all the points, weighted by feature and at the end you give the final result.
Could it be doable? Or would be too much work? Thanks.
I love your channel. Can you add shag rugs to your vacuume tests? I am curious to know how effective these vacuums are on high pile areas.🤔
Thanks! That's a good suggestion.
Very intriguing 🧐 I’d buy this vacuum cleaner for my house :) definitely good for cleaning up dog and cat hair and crumbs from hard floors.
Your review are great! Very thorough. By any chance you have a review coming up for the Philips 8000 (aqua)
It's not in the plan, but I appreciate suggestions. Thank you.
Thanks for sharing!
@@garrybatt5250 That said, it was a commercial machine.
Are there differences in "fog" vs "particle" tests? Some videos show the Triflex failing the fog test, while it passes the particle test here. Is the fog test more stringent or less useful?
Excellent
Thanks!
@@VacuumWars keep it up. Very concise , informative and helpful.
Please test out the Bluefeel montanc
Sweet. I like the design. But it needs improvement.
Hi Master, You have not reviewed the miele robots of the RX series?
Oh like the Electrolux Pure F9.
My God, You Are a Pro!
Have you ever reviewed other models of Miele vacuum cleaners before?
Yes - th-cam.com/play/PLgLomEiTb2Bawbge0TKuGzcwURtt8LTKr.html
In need of a comparison with the HX2 👍🏻
I think it would be very interesting If you test dysons new cinetic big ball absolute 2. Since it claims to be the only vacuum with HEPA like behaviour, but without any filters.
Didn't Dyson say they weren't developing corded vacs anymore??
Can you test Dreame XR, Dreame V11?
Looks like vacuums Jimmy, Roidmi and Dreame are made by Xiaomi, but what is the difference between them?
Can you do some canister vacuums? I get the popularity with uprights, but they are vacuums nonetheless. Great video! 👍
Great review!
What are those wooden things on the bottom right wall.? @1:49
They’re for testing robot vacuums in tight areas
Hope you run "unsealed suction test" on vacuum robot :)
why would anyone want the typical stick configuration if you can change it to have the suction be closer to the cleaner head? I get that it's kind of cool, but what is the advantage of having the traditional configuration?
@vacuumwars You recently proclaimed the Lupe to have the best suction, but left it out of this comparison. Curious, why?
This is a review of just one vacuum.
@@VacuumWars apologies. I should have wrote that you only compared it to the Dyson models. As far as the HX1 acting as an upright, which seemed to be one of your favorite features, mentioning how it compared to the Lupe (also upright) might have been helpful.
Good job buddy
Thanks 👍
3:34 Unito Confusio - there is no such thing as a 2500mA battery, you probably meant to say mAh which is also kinda useless unless you tell us what voltage it's at and at that point you might as well give us the watthours, which is far more useful.
@vacuum wars
the website doesn’t seem to work and i didn’t find this in the playlists, from the top (10) vacuums you’ve reviewed, which one is the quietest (e.g. on max power)? thnx!
In my notes I have them pretty much all at around 70-73 db really only the Dyson v10 which is super high pitched and about 81 db was the only cordless that jumped out.
@@VacuumWars thnx for taking the time to answer my question!
Love your carpet design. Just wished it was bigger. 😅
Miele’s filter is it washable ?
No, You have to replace the filter every 6 months and its $45.
@@VacMaster1991 ....what? on Miele's own website it states: "Replacement recommended every 3-4 years"
For cleaning it says: "Easy cleaning by tapping the filter"
@@pbakai182 it's not washable though. Tapping the dust off will only do so much
excellent analysis
Great reviews Thankyou
Can we get edge cleaning tests as well?
How would you compare to discontinued Miele swing h1 at 1000 watts?
