So many people complaining. "Doesn't finish a project!", "not using the original 60 years junk parts!", "taking shortcuts with the wiring!". The man is spending his own money on his own cars! Let him have some fun, for Christ sake! Bring it on, CT!😂👏👏👏
The Patina Twins are definitely some of your better projects. If they were mine, one would get a stock refresh and the other would be a 1700cc terror, but both would look similar on the outside. One for cruising, one for bruising. Double the fun.
Don't know what part of Florida you hail from but back in the late 70's bought a Beetle from Pensacola, Fla, that was in good condition. Dealer had sprayed it well with undercoating so it was very solid. Made it well worth saving.
Hello CT, I really enjoy your videos, especially because I also have a 65 bug that I am restoring too. The shows you produce are informative and motivational, so please keep doing them. I am still chasing rust and mechanical issues and enjoy spending some time tinkering with this labor of love. My finish line is closer than yours and anxious to see this completed so I can go buy celebratory ice cream sundaes with my daughters in the bug.
Love watching this. Will finish my own VW Baja soon now that I'm retired. Brings back a lot of memories when I was going through the same problems. I would have brazed the little holes on the gas tank but everyone has their own way. As long as you are having fun and making memories. Great job! Great video!
duck man V.W. use oven cleaner, its cheep it works good to clean out grease off trans and engine .//its great to see put it back on the road and fix that wire right to fuse box ,great job//
after the j and b dries. put some clean the tank out with muriatic acid and put some POR 15 gas tank sealer in there it will permanently seal those holes up. stuff is amazing.
Well, Mr. CT, work is progressing. I think you shouldn't worry too much about changing some parts like junction boxes, fuse boxes etc. as some parts are becoming difficult to obtain and the standard today is way better. When I will rebuild my "boxy", I will make also a hybrid machine, changing some less noticeable parts with a more modern counterpart, I'll also make some modifications on the older version of some parts to make those better. Some stuff was not really good to start with, depends though. Cheers and keep on.
Thought i heard in one of the videos that this was a '54 car? That being so it ought to have the oval rear window. The oval ran from '53 to '57 which was then replaced with the window shape in this car. Great videos nevertheless CT. Keep em coming👍🏻👍🏻👌🏻
You may wish to look into Lizard Skin sound deadening and ceramic heat shield. They are water-based products that spray on. I have used both and they work extremely well.
Yes, I think you might be right. You can see the black stain on the inside of the engine lid. The rodents chewed on them pretty good as well on some areas.
Sucks beetle engine locked up but looking forward to some acvw content. I Should be able to make it to Patina Party this year with my beetle hopefully the super is there👍
1965 was the last of king link pin front axle. First year for the wipers that rest on the left. First year of the push button rear hatch thumb bar for the horn was 1964 & 65 only. fits to 1971 though
@@CTmoog you’ll getter done . Worked on an old 53 jeep Willy’s for about a year , did everything to it . That thing would climb trees it was so low geared . Anyway see ya in your next episode.
My dream Beetle would have a Chevy Drivetrain,,of course changing the chassis/Frame,,front engine,,either a 265/283,,with fuel cell on the trunk, posse rear
CT with all the resto work you do have you given thought to buying a refill station for your spray chemicals buy brake clean wd40 etc in bulk then refill a refillable bottle and gas it up
I think you already know what I was saying while seeing you remove the tar from the engine deck... 🤣 Say, did you catch that spider? I was also thinking, while seeing you clean the transmission, it was a great opportunity to change the clutch kit and clutch cable; y'know just in case... Great job as always!
Keep in mind, brother that the spiders need eggs and what you see is a female and there’s probably hundred possibly many hundreds of eggs ready to hatch make sure you either burn them or put them in a close black bag very tight. Those spiders are very small As their hatching. Otherwise if you don’t get them fast enough, they’ll take over your entire house .Think about it
CT that is a twin of 1965 you have already. 1964 the windows were smaller glass house 1958-64* 1965-2004 *Brazil never went to the 1968-2004 Mexican European made vws.
Trying to do some stuff from the home shop to save on gas and time. It's an hour from my house so two hours driving, tolls, fuel , wear and tear....it adds up. also it's summer time so it's hot, humid and could rain at any time. I'll be back out there at some point but it's nice to have the home shop bak up and running.
CT, GLOVES, GLOVES, GLOVES. There are about 18 different diseases you can contract while coming into contact with rat droppings. Chemicals used around cars are also in some cases, (Brake fluid to mansion one) toxic through the skin, some over time may cause kidney failure. Help yourself out, GLOVES all the time. I know it’s a pain in warmer climates trust me I know being in Phoenix, AZ.
Tc is the foreign car of BF. W. Is that all you do I mean? I'll see a 69 to 67 forward around there. And my mind deserves more attention than they do. But now that's just me. I am American mairplane, no, that I don't like. De. Fine cars cause. I did. They're very good cars in some ways better than American. They're starving thoughto me. Agreed!
Preach!
Agreed. It’s his car. Let him build it the way he wants. If someone doesn’t like the way he builds his cars then they don’t have to watch him.
CT is an artist…he can do what he wants! Keep going CT…..
I enjoy watching CT, he’s down to earth and relaxing to kick back and see what he’s up to.

Alabama and Georgia, CT talks about these bugs like they are ladies, with love and passion 😂😂😂 keep it up mate 👍

Do you ever finish a VW and post the finished car?
Yes! =) Stay tuned!
Most used phrase of 2024, “I think we’ll need a new one of those.”
Yes, tell me about it! =)
Please! Finish the Ghia. I love this car. Congrets from Brazil.

Love the tee in jb weld scene

Good idea man. I will check them out. Thank you! =)
Excellent video CT :) also Alamba & Georgia cars fix one of 2 cars too and you have lots fun up both them too!
I would be giving the spider a brake clean bath
wires got "kinda hot"? There was a FIRE in the engine bay, that's what made the wires "crispy", not rodents.
Yes, I think you might be right. You can see the black stain on the inside of the engine lid. The rodents chewed on them pretty good as well on some areas.
Fantastic Video… I liked this!!!!
So much work and all this critter junk .Looking forward to see this baby on the road again in the next video CT.

Try using evaporust on the gas tank miggt help remove the rust on the inside
You should just go all the way, pull everything then dip the frame and start a rebuild from scratch. Otherwise, love the vids!
Well....ok! haha! =)

cool beetle.
Just grab a vacuum like omg 😂😂😂😂
Instead of JB weld, try some POR15 patch material….use straight out of the tube. Easy and dries very hard.
Nice job sir cool car vw Nice show 👏👏👏👏👍👍👍👍😃
Yes! I see light at the end of the tunnel
Yes! It's happing! =)

nice work, CT. will this one get a new floorpan?
Thanks man! Yes, and maybe heater channels....
@@CTmoog Sa-weet! Can't wait to see 'em in.
clean your fuse box , and fuses ends//put the break and clutch assembly in Muriatic Acid over night //look like new /leave all together
evap o rust. no need to take it apart. Dip it and come back tomorrow nice and clean.
I think that is a 65. Do the vin start with a 115?
Spider in it
Gotta crush the car now

For better results, replace your flat washing machine nozzle by the rotative nozzle. You'll be surprised.

Hi My Dear Friend Very Very Good Job
You have got to be kidding?? The guy is totally a terrible mechanic and fabricator.
@@MitchellPetersoncustomdronewhat do you care? Why do you keep coming back then?
the guy is a big fan of that jb product, he calls it welding to that
I clean my gas tank with Muriatic acid soak 2 days and shack it
Take the drivers outer door handle off- the key code is on the back side of it.
Gloves man, gloves !
25 years? Bah, my '66 has been sitting for 48. 😉
oh man...you need me to take a look at it? =)

The reason animals like wiring is because of the grease that is used in making the plastic covering.
Never hit a battery terminal with a hammer! Open the cable end with a big screwdriver or something else.
