Finding out square footage is key! I ran into a house that had a bathroom the size of a small apartment. ( just the bathroom) Then on another floor there was another and a master suite ..... turns out there was 6,000 sq feet to clean in 6 hours! I kept track of time stamps when completing a room and showed the client so they can prioritize for the next clean. I was so sore and exhausted after that house but I have a repeating / biweekly customer!! It will also be the perfect space to have a new hire shadow me.
I'm in the process of launching my business, but I'm hung up on pricing. This was a great breakdown. What do you do if clients don't want their full house cleaned? Do you deduct the square footage of the home not being cleaned? Also, what if they don't know the square footage or you find out the home is much larger when you arrive onsite to clean?
Hi Roy I’m Sharon from Indiana and need so much help . Iv been cleaning solo and not ready to hire lol so I’m wanting offices and commercial . I don’t have the basic insurance yet and no knowledge to land a office bid
Hey Sharon! Thanks for the comment. We've been publishing a lot of great content regarding commercial cleans and bidding, and hope these help! www.zenmaid.com/magazine/how-to-add-commercial-cleaning-services-to-your-maid-service/ www.zenmaid.com/magazine/how-to-bid-commercial-cleaning-contracts/
I actually have to disagree with this approach, bathrooms have a small sqft and can take 45 minutes to clean one bathroom. Also houses with lots of 'stuff' all over window ledges/shelves take far longer to dust. So I don't go on Sq ftg I price by bathroom time then add on based on what I've seen. I give a 'house fee' as opposed to an hourly fee.
I think that you could charge by the sqft and also add a "condition" upcharge (if heavier) if doing just a general cleaning. So, if everything was in average condition but the bathroom, then you could add an upcharge for the "heavier" condition. Thoughts?
Hi Victoria! I am not too sure if Royce Ard has a website but a good place to connect is through the ZenMaid Mastermind facebook.com/groups/zenmaidmastermind
yea but if the customer is an old lady where her husband passed away years ago, this lady ain't going to know what the square footage of her house is. or just anybody, in general, don't know the footage of the house. So do I have to have tape measure with me and measure the whole house? that's crazy and time-consuming
How ignorant & lazy of you. All this internet and you mean to tell me you can’t look up a home to get the square footage? You don’t need to be in business then my friend.

The timestamps are a great idea! Glad you found this video helpful!

Exactly

Can you explain what you mean by the house fee? I’m trying to start my company so I’m completely new

Is it smarter to use a flat fee or by the hour ?
Would I just hang up the phone after the competitors give me price? How would I play it off?
you say "gotcha bitch" and then hang up
How much do your ay your cleaners

As long as she knows her address then a quick Google search will tell you the square footage.
Google!
You can also use property appraiser in your county. I find that to be more accurate.
