Back in 1988 there was no petronas twin towers and the klcc park yet. No lot 10 even. No starhill. No KL tower. Ofc no pavillion and no trx yet. No monorail, no lrt. No grab yet ofc. But there were the ampang park plaza and the bukit bintang plaza (bb plaza), both of which are gone now. Also there and now gone were the stand-alone cinemas: rex, odeon, cathay. Still standing though are sungei wang plaza and pertama complex...

Terrific video, Lisa! The hot pot restaurant experience and shopping mall decorations are epic. It was great to see the zoo and pandas also. The zoo I recently visited that had the komodo dragon also had a raised platform to view the giraffes 🦒. So people are standing at the same height as the giraffes and can look at them straight in the face. Very cool for photos and videos.

Kuala Lumpar is a beautiful city. The view at 9:39 is incredible. The crowds are certainly out and about in the spirit of Christmas, I would have passed on the Durian. Doesn't look appetizing, especially for that price! Thank you, Lisa!!

In that street in the bukit bintang area, I'd say 99% are legit massage centres without any hanky panky dealings. A couple of decades ago it used to be, um maybe 70% I'd say, a fake front for illegal sex trades to one extent or another. But after that the government had decided to get tough and started cleaning up the place by vigorously developing and beautifying the area and its immediate surroundings, hence the mushrooming of all those skyscrapers beginning early 90s

Hello Lisa! What a great view of paradise, blue skies, asian food and lovely paper money, and I love the fact they keep so much forest in and around KLCC park. There's plenty of real snow here, and I'd be willing to trade KL for some fake snow. Like the lazy pandas in the zoo, and wish I could wiggle my ears like a capybara. I wear a belt with a velcro clasp so I can loosen and tighten as much as I need. You should be in Moscow soon for a Ded Moroz and Snegurochka close encounter. 🎅🤶🌹

Hi Lisa, I’m from South Africa and I visited Kuala Lumpur twice. The first time I went on some touristy tours and on a boat in the evening to see the fireflies and the second time I couldn't leave my hotel because it was so hot and humid. They apparently have tropical, rainforesty type summer temperatures year round, no other season, just one straight summer. The fireflies trip was the best and visiting the batik factory shops. 🇿🇦🇲🇾

Than You for this revisit to Kuala Lumpur. Seemed hotter when I was there than it was in Bali, but pretty sure that is not normally how it is. Explored all around that Petronas Tower and many malls in that area. The shopping malls are big, colourful and beautiful, but the prices in the shops were similar to expensive western prices. For me, it is a girls thing to shop in these places and not the man's. You got a bargain price in that Hotel. Remember being happy with the prices where we were but don't think it was that cheap. Back in 1988 there was no petronas twin towers and the klcc park yet. No lot 10 even. No starhill. No KL tower. Ofc no pavillion and no trx yet. No monorail, no lrt. No grab yet ofc. But there were the ampang park plaza and the bukit bintang plaza (bb plaza), both of which are gone now. Also there and now gone were the stand-alone cinemas: rex, odeon, cathay. Still standing though are sungei wang plaza and pertama complex...

Terrific video, Lisa! The hot pot restaurant experience and shopping mall decorations are epic. It was great to see the zoo and pandas also. The zoo I recently visited that had the komodo dragon also had a raised platform to view the giraffes 🦒. So people are standing at the same height as the giraffes and can look at them straight in the face. Very cool for photos and videos.

In that street in the bukit bintang area, I'd say 99% are legit massage centres without any hanky panky dealings. A couple of decades ago it used to be, um maybe 70% I'd say, a fake front for illegal sex trades to one extent or another. But after that the government had decided to get tough and started cleaning up the place by vigorously developing and beautifying the area and its immediate surroundings, hence the mushrooming of all those skyscrapers beginning early 90s

Hello Lisa! What a great view of paradise, blue skies, asian food and lovely paper money, and I love the fact they keep so much forest in and around KLCC park. There's plenty of real snow here, and I'd be willing to trade KL for some fake snow. Like the lazy pandas in the zoo, and wish I could wiggle my ears like a capybara. I wear a belt with a velcro clasp so I can loosen and tighten as much as I need. You should be in Moscow soon for a Ded Moroz and Snegurochka close encounter. 🎅🤶🌹

Hi Lisa, I’m from South Africa and I visited Kuala Lumpur twice. The first time I went on some touristy tours and on a boat in the evening to see the fireflies and the second time I couldn't leave my hotel because it was so hot and humid. They apparently have tropical, rainforesty type summer temperatures year round, no other season, just one straight summer. The fireflies trip was the best and visiting the batik factory shops. 🇿🇦🇲🇾

Btw, the authentic traditional malay dish of _nasi lemak_ does not actually have mere plain white rice, the word _lemak_ in its name refers to the rich creamy taste of the _nasi_ (rice) from cooking the white rice with coconut milk. The coconut milk also lends an aromatic fragrance to the rice, and the fragrance from the creamy rice combines with the fragrance of the banana leaf that is traditionally used to place the entire _nasi lemak_ on. Therefore when one eats the real _nasi lemak_ one is actually immersed in exploring not only with one's sense of taste but also sense of smell 👌
Than You for this revisit to Kuala Lumpur. Seemed hotter when I was there than it was in Bali, but pretty sure that is not normally how it is. Explored all around that Petronas Tower and many malls in that area. The shopping malls are big, colourful and beautiful, but the prices in the shops were similar to expensive western prices. For me, it is a girls thing to shop in these places and not the man's. You got a bargain price in that Hotel. Remember being happy with the prices where we were but don't think it was that cheap.
