Why don't you guys that comment negative stuff leave the poor guy alone. I hate negativity coming from people. The guy is simply just showing how he does things his way and you guys have to comment hate around his videos. Please stop it!
As soon as I saw the blades being sharpened, I had to jump on here to see all the Lawn Ranger comments. Love this channel more than most for ag content and the comments are less "Hawk Tuah" and straight forward than all others. Keep up the good work!!
OH my the first person to ever sharpen the blade on the wrong side as a logger never saw anyone put a chainsaw chain on backwards come on guys get real this guy is trying very hard by himself lets see you do 1/4 what he dos Go Duffy all my support from West coast Canada would come help if I could Take Care Be Safe
So if your cut edge of your blades are on the bottom, then they are upside-down....should be flat on the bottom. 112s are awesome!!! I have owned a few over the years.....keep your eyes out for a 430.....biggest mower they built back in the day!!! They are awesome, but hard to find. Took me 5 years to find mine, but with the Yanmar diesel and power steering, it is well worth getting!!! It will match your 4640!
Good job Chris on the jD 112, but you take off the blades to sharpen then ,poo hauling done for the weekend, and for your garden, it's dairy doo time with some poo .next spring, and you will be ready for gardening .have a good weekend my friend .awesome job
The mower deck on your 112 should not ride on the gauge wheels- It should hang from the tractor frame. Setting on a level surface you adjust the rocker arm stop so those wheels are 1/4-1/2" off the ground in the lowered position. The wheels are only to carry the mower over bumps and uneven surfaces without scalping.
Could be the case drain or leak line from the Hydraulic pump that is leaking on your tractor. I guess we will find out in a future video. You really can't miss your loader tractor for a day! In Europe almost every farm has a fork lift. Hardly any skid steers
I wasn't kidding about headlight assembly, big garden tractor show next weekend after 4th, in portage Wisconsin, had 1,033 tractors show up last year. Even just a plain bezel without lights sells for $60 or more not cracked
Hopefully you will be there next year? Several 1st timers from Wisconsin this year, Bret guessing 1,200 tractors. Montana, Texas, Quebec, Connecticut, Utah, Ontario showed up, and a German
Here is the thing with lawn mower blades if you look at them you can tell which side to sharpen me personally i sharpen both sides and my john Deere 317 mows awesome by doing that it doesn't bog down in tall grass
What every one said about the sharpening the blades is true . But JD use to sell a pendulum to balance your blades on the back side to keep the vibration out of them . Looks like your mowing right down on the ground that will kill your grass and let the weeds take over i mow at 3 inches and a 1/4 Jd also sells a blade height tool that lets you know . Lol . Would i make a great parts guy or salesman ?
Yep, lift the mower up with the lift handle , then turn the know between ur legs til u find the correct height. The know will stop the deck at the height u want.
Everyone told u how to sharpen ur blades, when u reinstall them the tips go upwards. Ya 74 was the last year for the 112 the next model (basically the same tractor) was the 212 to look like the 30-60 sieres farm tractor
Hello Chris: Am I missing something or have "I" been sharpening the wrong side of the blades on my JD 212 mower deck? I have to take my blades off because they require sharpening on the side facing up when installed on the spindle, in other words, on the beveled edge. Please don't take this as criticism because it is not meant to be. Love your videos. Look forward to them and watch them everyday when you upload.
Hey, can u show on ur 112 garden tractor how the choke cable is routed or placed on it, since I've got a 112 where the choke cable is not even connected at all.
You rarely respond but please don’t think me an idiot I grew up in a farm and I’ve done small engines for almost 50 years I closed my shop due to a bad car wreck but my brain is still at 100%
Sorry to tell you you're sharpening the wrong side of the blades, should be top side to throw grass to top of deck, and when blades hit an extra time it chops finer with less debris and quicker composting no biggie but its s great machine grease the hell out of it and keep changing the oil
Not only are the blades sharpened on wrong side, but j bet way out of Balance.Remove blades and use a bench grinder and then place blade on balance ⚖️ or a horizontal Nail.
You sharpened the wrong side of the blades, and then you didn't remove them so you can balance them. You will take out the spindle bearings with unbalanced blades.
I don't know what it is but, you can work all day and then come home and mow the lawn and get more satisfaction out of mowing the lawn, than what you did all day.
Kudos for sharpening your own mower knives…. Not every grass rat knows how to do that correctly even though you sharpened the wrong side….i get it you are a first generation farmer…. All your buddies have either a”y” at the end of their name or a”ie”…. Do the call you Chrissy???
None of these Nellies fussed about the grinder???? He’s cutting farmhouse “grass” not the 7th green at Augusta. Maybe it’s more important to him that his clippings have a razor straight edge. Who are we to judge?
Why don't you guys that comment negative stuff leave the poor guy alone. I hate negativity coming from people. The guy is simply just showing how he does things his way and you guys have to comment hate around his videos. Please stop it!
That 112 is a neat unit I got a 212 and a 318 I’m working on fixing up
Just an fyi Chris you sharpen the tops of the blades not the bottoms. learning!!
As soon as I saw the blades being sharpened, I had to jump on here to see all the Lawn Ranger comments. Love this channel more than most for ag content and the comments are less "Hawk Tuah" and straight forward than all others. Keep up the good work!!
im a fan so dont take this the wrong way, see your trucks filthy interior inspired me to clean the interiors on all 3 of my Jeeps👍
The top of the blade gets sharpened, not the bottom.
Take the blades off to sharpen the top side. What you did was clean up some stone bruises .
Daffy here in North Korea we sharpen the top of blade.
The point is that Duffy makes things harder for himself than doing it right the first time.
I love the scenery of the farm, the clouds, the trees at the top of the hill.
So if your cut edge of your blades are on the bottom, then they are upside-down....should be flat on the bottom. 112s are awesome!!! Have a neighbor that has one of them that matches his bigger John Deere tractors nice mower

Thank god i now know that the blades are sharpened on the top and not the botton

Just imagine how good that mower would have cut if you would have sharpened the top of the blades, instead of the bottom, like you are supposed to!
THANK YOU !!!!!!
You ever touched up the bottom to help take the dings out?
That bus was kool
You have a beautiful home.
Looks like it's due for a power washing. Hope you take a few days off for the fourth. You deserve it !!!!
I wasn't kidding about headlight assembly, big garden tractor show next weekend after 4th, in portage Wisconsin, had 1,033 tractors show up last year. Even just a plain bezel without lights sells for $60 or more not cracked
Yep. I'm from Oregon WI 50 miles away.
200 miles for us, been there since Day 1, see ya there
They sure must not advertise that show because I never knew it existed and I’m only an hour away from
Hopefully you will be there next year? Several 1st timers from Wisconsin this year, Bret guessing 1,200 tractors. Montana, Texas, Quebec, Connecticut, Utah, Ontario showed up, and a German
Have Vevor get you a winch and you can lift the mower and take the blades off and sharpen them correctly.
Yep it fits everything it breaks just as much
Another good day.
Here is the thing with lawn mower blades if you look at them you can tell which side to sharpen me personally i sharpen both sides and my john Deere 317 mows awesome by doing that it doesn't bog down in tall grass
Great video as always
Wonder if you can still get lead additive to add to the gas for older engines.

Trim the rub barb this fall so it can grow bigger
Duffy you shaepen the top of the blades now they could be outta balance
Do the rear lift arms first, then do the front draft plate.
Everyone told u how to sharpen ur blades, when u reinstall them the tips go upwards. Ya 74 was the last year for the 112 the next model (basically the same tractor) was the 212 to look like the 30-60 sieres farm tractor
Sooo sophisticated you have become with the JD lawn tractor 👍👍👍
How much sand can a ideal farm ground take before being too sandy?

Don’t worry, he’ll get all butt hurt and pissy. You’re not allowed to criticize or even offer suggestions , unless you’re in his inner circle .
We havent seen the corn for a while!, are you hiding it from us !!
Are you still adding source product. I guess I miss the results from last year.
I hope u still have the same Source Rep from your old ground. Lol
Just stick the olight work light to the hood & mow all night!!!!
Hey, can u show on ur 112 garden tractor how the choke cable is routed or placed on it, since I've got a 112 where the choke cable is not even connected at all.
4:40 When you want a upgrade from that 112 trade it for a 140 JD the hydro trans makes mowing way faster and there are only two v belts to deal with
Upgrade to a GT model with a kawasaki all kinds of power.
Hello Chris enjoyed your video is the rider same year as your tractor? Have a good day.
Eating with duffy
Chris that was great thank you no hauling on weekend wow great job can't wait for next one
Yenko is doing his job running off those corn thieves and you shut him down. Bad Duffy, Bad.
Need a BBQ now in the garden!
It's an a cool mower, but your supposed to sharpen the blades the top side of the blade, not the bottom 😂
You rarely respond but please don’t think me an idiot I grew up in a farm and I’ve done small engines for almost 50 years I closed my shop due to a bad car wreck but my brain is still at 100%
Like ours chopper operator sayed while chopping all of that silage Will go to🐄💩
It's supposed to rain. Never ever believe those that predict (guess) the weather. Always water your vegetable plots, rain forecast or not.
Sorry to tell you you're sharpening the wrong side of the blades, should be top side to throw grass to top of deck, and when blades hit an extra time it chops finer with less debris and quicker composting no biggie but its s great machine grease the hell out of it and keep changing the oil
😂 you don't sharpen the bottom of the blade. You sharpen the top of it
EXACTLY!
@@timhood6970 YES !!!!!!!!!!!!
Imagine how good it would cut if he sharpened the right side of the blades. 😅
Sharpen both side for best cut
Y'all never touched up the bottom of the blade to help take out the dings and it shows...arm chair back yard mechanics the bunch of you😂😂
You don't sharpen the bottom of the mower blade. You shape the top edge. If the bottom has the angle then the blades are upside down.
The only thing that would’ve made that mower better was if it was a Cub Cadet.😇
Not only are the blades sharpened on wrong side, but j bet way out of Balance.Remove blades and use a bench grinder and then place blade on balance ⚖️ or a horizontal Nail.
Turkeys are not protected any longer they are so numerous now they reopened the hunting season on them
You sharpened the wrong side of the blades, and then you didn't remove them so you can balance them. You will take out the spindle bearings with unbalanced blades.
Sharpened wrong side of blade Just saying
I don't know what it is but, you can work all day and then come home and mow the lawn and get more satisfaction out of mowing the lawn, than what you did all day.
If yenko was not in the manure a/c then other people would complain.
Second
The tractor will only be ruined by Yenko from all the cigarettes he smokes 😂 holy crap people are moronic
I cant see why you could not attach the mower deck to the tractor, you know that one with 8 wheels and mow around your house with that, simple!!!
I know what’s wrong with the 112 riding tractor It ain’t got no gas 😂😂
Kudos for sharpening your own mower knives…. Not every grass rat knows how to do that correctly even though you sharpened the wrong side….i get it you are a first generation farmer…. All your buddies have either a”y” at the end of their name or a”ie”…. Do the call you Chrissy???
Wtf..you don’t sharpen the bottom of the blades
.
There sure are a lot of blade sharpening Karen’s out there. Duffy is not mowing grass. He is chopping grass.😂
🤦♂️🤣
Blades are junk now throw them away never seen somebody sharpen blades backwards definitely on the wrong side bud
The only man gutsy enough to raw dog farming from scratch.
That’s a lawn tractor rear tires are turf tires not garden tires
It's a lawn & garden tractor. The 60 70 & 100 would be a lawn tractor
Where are the defenders of stupidity today?
They probably sharpen their mower blades from the bottom side too.
First
None of these Nellies fussed about the grinder???? He’s cutting farmhouse “grass” not the 7th green at Augusta. Maybe it’s more important to him that his clippings have a razor straight edge. Who are we to judge?
Are your spindles greasable on your mower deck for your blades
You are sharpening the wrong side, pull your blades off and do it correctly, chris
