@@Leafshinobicaptainyamato okay this is just my honest opinion this is why they made the Air Jordan 39 white sneakers like they did Air Jordan Ones sneakers clearly point as day like that because Michael Jordan said he wanted his sneakers the Air Jordan 39 sneakers to look like that has a problem with Jeffrey Michael Jordan yeah you can bring it up to him but he's not going to tell you why he did what he did he told the guys to create the shoes like that and when Paolo Banchero tried them on my Orlando Magic I said no problem with them.? @Leafshinobicaptainyamato
I was born in ‘75 so my movies were Goonies, Indiana Jones, Star Wars, Last Starfighter, Better Off Dead, Back to the Future, Vacation. Yes one or two of those might be R or PG13 rated but I was a latch key kid so I had plenty of unsupervised time.
I haven’t bought a signature Air Jordan model since the XXII. When I first saw these, idk why I want these but I’ll wait until they go on sale, in a different color
The Air Jordan 39 actually look really nice, not too much over the top design going on with them, which is nice. But from what Chris was saying, it seems more like a casual everyday sneaker than an on the court go hard sneaker. I gotta head to Dicks, Finish Line or Foot Locker to check them out. As for a 10yr olds type of movie to watch, the list Chris went through is great. I would never worry about too much about expanding a kids movie library. As long as they're happy, healthy (physically and mentally) and having a good time with what they like, then its all good to me and they'll eventually get into other things just like kids do with food.
I personally think these look cool! But the biggest thing that attracted me to the shoe is the full length air zoom unit COMBINED with ZoomX foam. No shank plate kinda worries me, but maybe these could be my casual hoop shoes when I’m taking it easy. Kinda sounds like these shoes would be good for forwards and bigs.
The triangles with the perforations on the toe cap also represent the perforated triangle designs on the side of the Jordan retro 9. Great informative vid as always. Greatly appreciate all your vids.
Ferris Beuhlers Day Off, Terminator 2 and the original TMNT were my favorite movies when I was around that age. Also, these shoes look really cool. I like the style of them and I don't typically like the look of newer (past 11) Jordans. That said, if I had a pair, I probably wouldn't try to ball in them because they look like a pair of sneakers for casual use as opposed to performance.
Then Movies are A1… all of these movies are my favorites too. I was born in 88, my Dad wanted to name me Ferris bc it was one of his favorite movies. My Moms wasn’t having it 😂 So hence my middle name is Ferris. TERMINATOR 2 is 🐐’d
This is the beauty of the power of our money. Personally I’m not impressed by this Jordan shoe, now that’s not a diss to anyone who wants to buy this or likes it. More power to you! I just feel I can get way more out of the adidas AE for LESS money. I want quality vs a brand name and Jordan and Nike seem to be dropping the ball lately. That’s just me though.
I actually went out for these and they are awesome. Easily the most comfortable and fun basketball shoe I’ve played in since the Lebron 20. Quality on my pair is great. Sure there are cheaper shoes, but we all know these are going to go on sale like the last several jordan models.
I love the silhouette of the shoe (big Jordan fan so a lil bias 1-38) it looks great on foot kinda reminds me of the Jordan 3 with the red jump man logo on the tongue (WC) it’s a great looking shoe for me on and off the court
My son(7) and I just watched the 3 ninjas movies. He loved them, plenty of action and humour. He loved how they were very much Home Alone with karate. (Also the Home Alone movies are a big hit)
3 Ninjas! One thing I did notice with my own kids is that the older kid movies have a different pacing than new ones so they often just tune out before it gets going (since most are a little slower to get going). We just watched Angels in the Outfield, also they got into the Homeward Bound movies for a bit.
10:17 The very first thing I thought when I saw these was the Quick 6 and I think that’s why I like this shoe so much. Need these 39s, but on a deep discount.
Truth be told: Rookie of the Year, The Sandlot, Little Big League, and Angels In The Outfield were my movies growing up and it fostered my love of baseball. So, if you’re trying to get the kid into hoops, maybe a Like Mike or The Air Up There?
What actually surprised me was reading that MJ actually came back to give some input on the design after so long. Either way, the first Jordan to have ZoomX foam (and Zoom Air added as a plus) for the first time is a plus despite no torsion support!
I know it's not the same zoom unit, but Chris mentioning how unstable the 39 feels reminded me of the Jordan 31 review with the unlocked zoom unit... Then i realized after looking up the review on the weartesters website that it doesn't look to have a shank either, I guess that's why the 31 Russell Westbrook PE has the 29/30 midsole and outsole instead. I think it's awesome what they did with caging the zoom x, it looks like a better version of what Adidas did with caging boost in the BYW models
Can’t wait for your performance review on 39 and their torsion support. I saw some oversea reviews and they are loving the new torsional support “system”😂
3 Musketeers was the bomb. Loved that movie. The Back to the Future trilogy ended up a hit when my guy was ten and he was really reticent to watch at first but then was excited to see where they'd go next.
These are perhaps the best and most attractive Jordans I have seen so far, and I believe I will get a pair at the earliest opportunity. btw. I think a bunch of reviewers have fully misunderstood J Type 39, not You! Through market analysis, Jordan shoes in the last decade were often purchased as a fashion accessory, at least 97% of buyers ( m/w ) will buy them for the image and the good looks to wear them every day in the neighborhood, city, or village, to be on their feet all day. In terms of appearance and comfort, they go well with most tracksuits and cargo pants, and simply catch the eye in a good way. Remember, 97% of users enjoy following sports on television, and in that regard, I think this is a bullseye. First, blood is my favorite movie of all time. I saw it when I was ten years old. Please show it to your son I have hot hopes for the air during 39. I ordered mine and they are on the way. I cannot wait
My son (14) is the same. He only likes very particular movies. Basically, he doesn't like any movies where people die. It is much harder to find then you might think lol. As far I go, I liked any and everything Action. Kung-Fu movies all day! My favorite movie at 10 (i'm 37 now) was probably Enter the Dragon, or Jurassic Park. Love you guys videos. You two remind me, of me and my wife lol.
I think kids of this generation need to see the growth and progress of past movies into the present. I know super hero movies are the best for that but maybe like Jurassic park , I think it introduces a horror feel , what kid doesn’t love dinosaurs, and then they have recent adaptations to keep him interested. If he’s into anime and super heroes he def needs to watch movies who have characters he can also relate to like a protagonist. Turbo man is also a good choice for kids
Good looking, but CP3 refined to me. I like the full length zoom but not sure about the support part. Will look forward to see them on Sale next holiday. I’m still hooping with my 37 along with my retros. Performance shoes for intense games and retros for casual buckets.
Hook with Robin Williams and Dustin Hoffman was one of my favorites at 11 years old. Willow, the Back to the Future trilogy. All those that Chris listed brought me back so many memories! The fact of the matter is that nowadays we are full of super hero movies, not a complain by any means, but I feel back in the day the hype was not as high as today and the diversity was way bigger. Problem Child was a funny one too.
Thanks Chris for introducing the AJ39! First impression their cup sole reminds me of the Puma Clyde Court… As a fan of the AJ9, I would love to see more design hints tribute back to the original AJ9.
I like these too. They're like really well cushioned boxing or wrestling shoes. Great for court feel and being nimble. True test will be trying them on.
Actually do like the design on these and seems a consensus they are quite comfortable but at that price point not sure would be totally confident in how good a sneaker to ball in with some of the issues highlighted in this vid. As a few others have mentioned can't go wrong with those Robin Williams family movies. Mrs. Doubtfire was one of my all-time favorite movies as a kid and still is tbh , i watched it countless times when i was younger. I was about 8 or 9 when Mrs. Doubtfire came out in theaters , went to see it in theaters and was a big fan of RW and his movies ever since. Probably one of the earliest movies (Mrs. Doubtfire) i remember laughing out loud that much. And being that age pretty much grew up with his movies as they came out in theaters and as i got older watched pretty much any type of film or series he was a part of ; probably why I really felt it when he passed away.
The little triangles on the front of the 39s are the same used on the pattern on the sides of the 9s. Goonies Back to the Future Big Ferris Bueller Day Off Explorers
Space Jam the one with MJ in my opinion and try Sandlot. As far as the Jordan 39 don’t think it’s really one for me definitely nice and has a place though.
A few films from my child hood that might be worth checking out are: Searching for Boby Fischer Little Big League Super Mario Bros (1993) The Big Green The Sandlot Twister Jurrasic Park Hocus Pocus The Little Rascals Jumanji LIttle Giants Home Alone Hook The Santa Clause Jack Richie RIch First Kid All great films from my child hood, i hope this helps give you a bigger list to pull from to help your son on his film journey.
Dope. Movies Goonies, North Shore, Search for Animal Chin, Police Academy 2(?), RAD, Swiss Family Robinson, Breakin' 2 Electric Boogaloo, Ferris Buehlers Day Off, The Last Dragon , the Beast Master, Revenge of the Nerds, American Ninja.
Thanks for the review! Didn’t notice the missing plate… interesting choice after all these years with the different plates… I’m sure I’m not the first one to mention it but the logos are facing each other on the tongue just like they did on the OG9 on the sides. 😉
Thanks for the awesome review! Question of the day: Would you rather, past versus present edition. Would you rather take Reeboks shoes and performance features of the past or Puma's present/ foreseeable future? As someone who never got to experience Reebok in its prime, I wish I could go back in time 🥲.
my favorite stuff to watch at that age was anime, star wars, marvel, dc, any Disney movie. I also watched like some of the classic movies and anything that was on TV. I feel like it's harder to figure out. I watched a lot of anime and read a lot of manga when I was 10. I would always kinda gravitate towards one thing and then get super invested in it lol. Cool to see another year of Jordan brand. I also really like watching Disney Channel, Cartoon Network and Nicktoons lol. It's crazy to think that next year we will be getting the AIr Jordan 40!
The Sandlot was going to be my answer but you’re already covered there. E.T. and Jurassic Park were other ones I had on repeat as a kid. Those, Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Back to the Future, TMNT were pretty much all played on a loop. Also loved Muppet Treasure Island, which I still get some of the music stuck in my head to this day.
I have a bad answer... Because it is comic related. My favorite is The Crow. Definitely probably not old enough yet but I watched the movie at 5-6 years old and it's been my favorite movie since. Truly changed my life. 3 Ninjas the original is amazing though
Again, another great overall video review. Thank you, as always, to Chris and Jodi for all their efforts and time. Always greatly appreciated. Not really feeling the Air Jordan 39 model. Just does not do anything for me. IMHO, it just looks like any other athletic shoe currently on the market from every other athletic shoe company. And, IMHO, reminds me more of the Air Jordan 3 than the Air Jordan 9 just by the shape. Anyway, to all those who like the AJ 39, enjoy and hope you are able to score whatever colorway of the 39 you prefer. I am going to concentrate on the retros releasing later this year.
Outside of LotR, my two favorite movies as a kid were October Sky and Stand By Me (we didn’t know it was rated R until after we watched it 😂). Also, while I didn’t see these movies as a kid, Ghibli movies like Castle in the Sky and Nausica would be good too!
I’m liking what I’m seeing. But yeah, they do look like a more casual shoe. Which is great for me as that’s how I wear mine. I know. Modern performance shoes aren’t worn casually. Well, back in the day they were and I’m bringing it back. Plus, my 38 lows are some of the most comfortable shoes I’ve ever worn. Guessing these will be even better. Just waiting for a different colorway. As for QOTD. I was a huge fan of the Back to the Future movies back when I was young. Still am today. Pretty sure at 10 yo I could recite the original line for line as I watched it so much. Think they’re all on Netflix now.
I’m just glad they are taking a step at moving away from weaves and synthetics.. go back to RAW materials! They last longer! Knowing this doesn’t have a shank plate I will not be using this on court! Casual only . Will be copping the black colorway for casual use
I still get excited about the release of the new signature model. But the market were in, they’re better shoes imo that aren’t $200 or $215. And you get a great performing shoe. With the next Air Jordan 1 high being $250, just don’t know how long I can keep this up. As far as movies from age 10, Ace Ventura was hilarious to me! All the Disney live action movies from the early 90s is great. There’s a section on Disney plus that has all of them. Gonna start with angels in the outfield and go from there with my boys. Also, back to the future is a great one! Hope the kiddo likes that!
As far as the QOD: I recommend as movies for a 10 year old: Goonies, The Golden Child, Back To The Future, Teen Wolf 1 & 2, The Jacksons: An American Dream, IT, The People Under The Stairs....
I’m thinking the logos on the tongue are like that to represent Jordan being able to play both ways. Seems like a major part of the theme so it makes sense to me.
They look so nice, though I will probably be going for a colorway with more black in it. It’s weird; I see more of the 29 than the 9, and maybe even more of the 3 than the 9? The Sol colorway reminds me a little of the White Cement 3. Am I way off? Great video as always! As far as movies go, I feel like what I enjoyed as a ten year old in 1990 might not actually be appropriate for ten year olds. For instance, I really enjoyed Days of Thunder with Tom Cruise, but that’s really more for an older audience. I liked Gremlins a lot, and I watched Gremlins 2 in theaters at 10, I think. Big YES to Mighty Ducks, The Sandlot, etc.!
The original teenage mutant Ninja turtles 1990 hands down!🐢 The live action Jim Henson suits turtles were the best. I love those movies growing up. Still to this very day and I introduced that to my son and he's 10 now. I introduced that when he was at least maybe like five or six.
I'm personally excited for this shoe. I really liked last year's model BUT the midsole was separating from the shoe. As long as I have good cushion and great traction and it's light weight I'm in
Whoa Chris! I didn't know that the 39 was that flimsy until you just demonstrated it my man. I've been contemplating on buying this colorway the sol But I was really liking the all black Lumiere colorway as well. But since you did that, I'm thinking I have second thoughts on it. I'll just stick with my normal J's that MJ wore. I do have a pair of my Air Jordan 31s the Chicago edition and these are way more supportive.
That is 37 years ago. . Mary poppins! I dig the looks, and that cushion looks 🔥. But €200 is a lot if it is only casual, looking forward to your performance review.
When i was that little, i was already watching anime and superheroes too but besides that, maybe some american animation like iron giant or atlantis or treasure island could pull him in. Animation is easier to view for most of any age than live action anyway. Ooh kung pow is a hilarious live action too
A bunch of the movies 10 year old me watched back in the 90s were already mentioned in the comments. I'll add Batteries Not Included, The Air Up There, Blues Brothers, Bill & Ted, Camp Nowhere, Ferngully, A Goofy Movie, Gremlins, Short Circuit, Sidekicks, the Rocketeer.
Jordan 21 had the double helix traction, one lower than the other. When one wore down the other would be there to give you the same traction as before. Good idea but if you used the indoors only then you weren't likely to get to it and if you were outside you would probably prefer a thicker outsole .
They just need to hire you at this point you clearly understand the brand better than whoever’s in charge over there
Why? So they pay him less and make him work ridiculous hours? Nike Product Management are at the bottom salary wise in their discipline.
Nike has lost its intrinsic reward. Ppl go to Nike now because they can say they worked at Nike. The real creatives are making their own shoe. 😂
They would just piss him off by not listening. He would go to work and die a little inside everyday😪

Thanks for the review! Didn’t notice the missing plate… interesting choice after all these years with the different plates… I’m sure I’m not the first one to mention it but the logos are facing each other on the tongue just like they did on the OG9 on the sides. 😉
Thanks for the awesome review!
Question of the day:
Would you rather, past versus present edition.
Top Gun got me pumped up as a kid… and still gets me pumped up as an adult. 😎🤘🏻
I wish they would've went with some OG colorways for those. I like em don't get me wrong. But I see so much more potential in em than what i've seen
Ready for that black pair 🤤🤤
Same here🔥🔥🔥🔥
Agree 👍
Facts!
the black pairs are nice ngl, but for me the all red pair is the best
Yeah I'm interested in seeing what color ways will come out for these.
I just put them on and personally, the 39s feel a lot better than the 38. Can’t wait to play in them tomorrow
Hell yea always get pumped for the new Jordan!
im one of the few that will watch the performance review over this! love all the content though ✌🏽️
Bro it seems like the 29 came out 2 years ago I was obsessed with that shoe. Can’t believe it’s been 10 years
I love the 30s
29 best Jordan ever
"Surf ninjas" and "3 Ninjas" also "Mighty Ducks" or Jumanji....ooh or "Small Soldiers" also "Like Mike"
The Jumpman logo on the tongue reminds me at Jumpman logo at AJ9 at the side where they're facing opposite...
Outside of LotR, my two favorite movies as a kid were October Sky and Stand By Me (we didn’t know it was rated R until after we watched it 😂). Also, while I didn’t see these movies as a kid, Ghibli movies like Castle in the Sky and Nausica would be good too!
They definitely stopping at 45
Countdown pack gonna be crazy
22/23 & 36/9 pack gonna 🔥
I really hope Tinker comes back to design it, he has to cap it off there!
Think they’re all on Netflix now.
looks, tech specs and performance really matter to me. standing by for tje performance review.
Dude that discount code worked great! thank you! Got a $200 bag for half the price that’s incredible
Great to hear!
I’m just glad they are taking a step at moving away from weaves and synthetics.. go back to RAW materials! They last longer! Knowing this doesn’t have a shank plate I will not be using this on court! Casual only . Will be copping the black colorway for casual use
I was younger but:
Biker mice from mars.
Gremlins 1st one.
Little soldiers (or toy soldiers - for kids is awesome)
I still get excited about the release of the new signature model. But the market were in, they’re better shoes imo that aren’t $200 or $215. And you get a great performing shoe. With the next Air Jordan 1 high being $250, just don’t know how long I can keep this up.
As far as movies from age 10, Ace Ventura was hilarious to me! All the Disney live action movies from the early 90s is great. There’s a section on Disney plus that has all of them. Gonna start with angels in the outfield and go from there with my boys.
Also, back to the future is a great one! Hope the kiddo likes that!
A few movies I loved at that age:
E.T.
Back to the Future
The Goonies
Karate Kid
& The Last Dragon
I loved Remember the Titans and Glory Road around that age.
I should've subbed ages ago. Thanks for every review and your passion!
The Iron Giant! And others like that were my favorite 😂 12:28 but i guess you can do Goonies. Chris had some solid recs
I introduced that when he was at least maybe like five or six.
been waitin for this review… just got payed, so I’m gettin em’ rn
It's really cool, my pair just arrived today, I ordered online at NIKE Australia a week ago :)
I'm personally excited for this shoe. I really liked last year's model BUT the midsole was separating from the shoe. As long as I have good cushion and great traction and it's light weight I'm in
Angels in the Outfield is a fun movie I watched around that age.
YES! to 3 Ninjas!
Like Mike, Hook, Willie Wonka and Chocolate factory (OG). These were my go to when the kids were young.
That is 37 years ago. . Mary poppins!
I dig the looks, and that cushion looks 🔥. But €200 is a lot if it is only casual, looking forward to your performance review.
The little rascals, the original space jam, jingle all the way, good burger, heavyweights, happy gilmore, billy madison, big daddy
When i was that little, i was already watching anime and superheroes too but besides that, maybe some american animation like iron giant or atlantis or treasure island could pull him in. Animation is easier to view for most of any age than live action anyway. Ooh kung pow is a hilarious live action too
Dope review as always
Got a pair! I think they have the coolest look since the 35s.
En el momento en que vi el bolso kislux , supe que tenía que tenerlo.
Finally a Air Jordan Release I like
A bunch of the movies 10 year old me watched back in the 90s were already mentioned in the comments.
Good idea but if you used the indoors only then you weren't likely to get to it and if you were outside you would probably prefer a thicker outsole .
waiting for the performance review too! exciting for Air Jordan fans!
