Obsessed with BotSE and counting down the (theoretical) days until it arrives! Been keeping myself busy with playthroughs and STOKED that you are doing one. Congrats on getting a pre-prod copy from CTG, hope that’s encouraging. Your content is astounding and I love watching. Just finished this one and looking forward to the next!
Great video series - I really hope you continue this. I like the learn as you go approach that is markedly different from other content creators because it mirrors what my experience would be while learning the game. Hope to get my kickstarted game soon so this is really whetting my appetite. Regarding you questions on choosing a class and if you need to play the Jailbreak scenario every time, I ran the rules PDF though Google's NotebookLM and got these answers: Here's information from the sources about choosing a class: To begin, you can choose a class in one of two ways: open choice or the Jailbreak Introduction Encounter. Open Choice: Select any of the available class sheets. Jailbreak Introduction Encounter: Your class choices depend on your achievements during this encounter, which is recommended for your first campaign. No, you do not have to play the Jailbreak Introduction Encounter every time you start a campaign. The sources state that playing the Jailbreak Introduction Encounter is "strongly recommended" for a player's first campaign, as it introduces players to the battle rules and determines class choices based on achievements in the encounter. However, the Jailbreak Introduction Encounter is optional; the sources describe an alternative method for choosing a class called "open choice" where players can choose any of the available classes. The sources also state that if you decide to play the Jailbreak Introduction Encounter and are unhappy with the classes you unlocked through your achievements, you can still choose from the remaining classes (that other players didn't choose) if you forfeit any tenacity and items you earned during the encounter. The sources make it clear that you can play the Jailbreak Introduction Encounter for any campaign if you would like a more thematic way to choose a class. You are not required to play it, however.
I don’t watch many playthroughs (just not my preferred content) but this is the type that I love. Watching along as you learn and hearing evolving thoughts is great. Looking forward to more assuming you keep enjoying too.
First- thank you for the coverage and I’m excited for more on this game. Second- thank you for making a video I can watch during work to help pass the time.
You were concerned about 1/2 though about people watching. I liked how you did this. It feels very close to how new players will experience TES if they haven't watched all the videos and pre-read the rules 10 times like some of us freaks :D. I enjoyed your video. Looking forward to the rest!
This is rad. Would love to see you stick to this in one way or another. Could pick up steam once the game starts getting delivered later this year. Looking forward to it!
Thanks Daniel. It wasn’t that they are not financially viable as at this point this venture is far from profitable they just had very few watching them relative to the effort. I will say this series won’t have edits like those. It is a down and dirty diary of my play.
Very cool series that I might just play-along when my copy arrives :D Thank you so much! Got a localized version so I can play with my friends. What I heard Frosted Games did a great job on Too Many Bones so I am hopeful :D Will be my first dive into CTG.
Totally watching this mess :D. I dont consider this a mess at all, I enjoy watching content creators learning the game. You could always live stream it ;).
@@Neon_Gorilla Im mixed on it. Its a major buzz kill if you desperately need a rest to get rid of fatigue and recover fully to find out that there isnt an Inn available. Thematically though, I think it could work as you could ask locals what is at the next town type thing. But I also love the surprise discovery in games.
I will have to see as I go through them all but the entire system is so much more intriguing then I even expected. I am very interested in exploring all the classes and skill lines. Chip Theory has to be foaming at the mouth with possibilities.
Please do some playthroughs we can watch. I really enjoyed your TMB guides, thats what gkt me subbed to your channel and have been following ever since.
FYI, the stat tokens (square colored pieces in your player mat" the arrow points towards the token it is representing. So red will point to the heart token.
Hey Neon G - I cant wait to watch this series and your final thoughts on it. I was this |-| close to backing this and I might regret it but I watched several play throughs and the game felt incredibly slow. Like time playing vs reading and setting up etc. Perhaps I am wrong, but either way, cant wait to hear your thoughts.
That is what I am trying to figure out. My hypothesis is that much of what you can watch right now is with people that have relatively few plays in and or are trying to teach and explain everything to the camera. I want to see just how fast I can get through sessions by the end of this.
The heck why not just say: On your turn you may perform one of the following mutualy exclusive action sequences: (move + engage/move) or (engage + move) or (explore). You may forfeit any action. I feel like rulebooks should explain everything as an algorithm and/or decision tree. But maybe thats just my brain
This is EXACTLY what it should be. The wording is sort of a brain puzzle. I think they tried to say it in as few words as possible but not particularly intuitive in my mind. Decision tree would be wonderful...maybe I make that on the next episode :)
I think 100 hours is pretty ambitious. I'd say 15 hours is enough to get a decent impression of the game and you're going above and beyond. Don't burn yourself out but if you're having fun go for it.
@@smoogums89 100 hours is overkill but I want to find out where is the point I no longer learn more about the game. My hypothesis is 15 hours will only scratch the surface. Playing solo that is maybe 3-5 builds and basically one arc from each gazateer. If I am going to tell someone that spending $225 is worth it or not I want to have played a much larger portion of the game…15 hours on something like this is impression territory. I am at 5-6 now and have only gotten through the tutorial.
18:50 He complains that the game doesn't come with dry erase boards for taking notes just in the tutorial Immediately after holding up the notepad that comes with the game that you use for notes
Its not for tracking the achievements, they want you to write in the tutorial or print it out. At this point I had not idea what the campaign sheet would be used for or if ever single quest would have you check off a list of words...also remember this is 18:50 in to me learning the game have a little understanding...
@Neon_Gorilla it says to just keep track of the achievements and to print if you want to, and the notepad is a way to keep track. I just think it's dumb to complain that the game doesn't have a way to track it when it does On top of that, if you're really anti print and anti using the notepad You got a phone to take notes on I hope I'm not coming across rude. I was just lightly peeved, lol I'm excited to see this whole series
@@Jovanny_pcpp i think you are watching this as if I already know what any of this does. This is 18 minutes in to over 5 hours of edited footage and 10 hours of actual filming. Just remember I am just a regular dude making videos for you for free.
