Peace Pole Initiative by Area Rotary Clubs

World famous cellist, orchestral conductor & artistic director, Diego Carneiro will be performing concerts about peace through music at the Lake Wales Family Recreation Center on November 16, World Tolerance Day. The area rotary clubs will plant a peace pole at the recreation center to commemorate the day. The event starts at noon.
Area Rotary Clubs are promoting a global initiative to focus their communities on peacebuilding and conflict resolution. More than 250,000 peace poles have been planted throughout the world. Colorful poles covered in award winning children’s artwork will be planted in various high visibility locations throughout the city to start community conversations about peace, unity, friendships, tolerance, love and generosity.
