Powerful work - this responds to a need to hear voices of this particular LGBTI generation. Thank you so much for creating this. For posterity, and for people today to listen their stories - the struggles and the joys.
Thank you for posting this. It is reassuring to know that we stand upon the shoulders of those who came before us.
Really engaging and illuminating of the lived realities of a selection of senior "queers" in the country. Loved the amount of time spent to hear each of their stories. Rural lgbti stories need to be told as much as senior lgbti stories.... next stop, transmen, CALD lgbti, Aces, lgbti with disabilities, non binary folk, religious lgbti and perhaps even the "Straight Pride" phenomena! It is true to remember that any and all of the legislated protective rights can be reversed, amended and erased depending on the sociopolitical climate of the day. This is a reality of minority politics in a democracy. Thanks Issie for advancing the safety, security and understanding of lgbti communities and strengthening the diverse presentation of people who are same sex attracted and non conforming to the dominant discourses of how we must be in the world....

Great work Issy. Sharing these stories creates empathy and breaks down walls. Whatever label you are we are all human.. I’ll definitely be sharing with many of my clients. And on another note, fantastic seeing my uncle peter, his partner Mario and my cousin Jo, sharing their experiences.

great to see an older intersex person and trans person, im a trans and intersex person so to me this was preety wonderfull because rarely are either talked about better yet in one video and good to see people understanding those are different things as well and also that intersex is explained as being a sort of personal complex thing because it is and can't be explained simply
I sent this to my mom. My youngest brother and I are both queer and only our middle brother is the straight one our of her 3 kids lol. She is a baby boomer and while I'm proud of her progress regarding her feelings on LGBT I understand that it still difficult for her to grapple with. We are from the southern Appalachians and raised Christian so she worried her babies will burn in hell which breaks my heart so much. If god is truly merciful he doesn't condemn us. Love can only come from god since he created us in his image to love! Hatred is from satan.
Be careful with the negative assumptions about "boomers". The people in this film are boomers as well. There is no reason to think that people of this generation are conservative or ignorant. We did a lot of fighting for the rights and freedoms that are taken for granted by subsequent generations.

Although I would say in general you guys are more conservative but there's also nothing wrong with that.. we would have literally nothing without baby boomers. I feel the same about not telling my parents because my dad has bad health and it makes me feel guilty and sad that I now he would never accept me as a transvestite and be happy for me.

Its hard out there. Im glad and relieved to learn they found the mates they have, their soulmate! Smdh sumthin i dont even have! when humans r in a union w someone... People were like that about left handers once ! Sinister! Means left handed . Kids were forced to use their right hand to write seriously damaging : made my dad totally cackhanded . Couldnt use either hand to do simple things like using tools. Humans are not wired the same.
