The tiny screwdriver is a PH00, not a T00. PH00 is much more readily available!

tesla calibrations are duals. they use the hyundai board with a line of red tape that goes on board at certain spot. then it get driven. tahts how we did it safelite when i used to work there.

Whats the cost to replace it?
Just got my Model Y windshield replaced by Safelite (Should have used Tesla) but I can hear wind noise while driving. Originally replaced 3 weeks ago, took it back for a failed install (Crooked & Wind Noise) and was replaced again last week. But I can still hear noticeable wind noise while driving on the highway, therefore I'm ready to take it back..... Any idea why? anything special that needs to be done with Teslas during the install?
They might be one man setting it and that's why its crooked. 2 man sets help prevent that at my business. Also it they're one man setting it, its easier to move the glue on the bottom and cause an air hole.
How do you determine that you have the right glass?
My method is counting the heater lines at the camera. Either 9 or 11 lines
The tesla only has one glass option pop up for me. We typically run the vin on newer vehicles just to be safe.
Oh got it. When i worked at safelite theyd order the wrong glass all the time lol so we had to actually check it out
@@andrewweaver12 today there is a glass that is updated to have more heater lines and a dip in the top of the frit, but the glass youl be taking out will have 9 instead of 14 lines (i think or vise versa) but tesla says that is correct glass and is. not sure on which models its true for.

@@FLAV3R I typically do not use too much water. But we have to use water or glass cleaner to lubricate the blade or it will get stuck and hot. I will actually get upset at my employees if they use too much water because we also risk a chance of wetting the fuse box
Does 12 volts need to be cut off for windshield replacement?

Even if you think that removing the frunk is time consuming, same was t your choice. You struggle a lot removing those clips. Also I was expecting to see how to remove and install the glass, but you decided to omit it...😢
Why not just say you don’t know how to get that wire off the cover lol. I tried and couldn’t figure it out and gave up cause I didn’t want to brake it. I was pretty annoyed by it being in the way

@@jsautoglass6029 the wire running into the mirror cover. Some sort of metal insert with no release clip
I've been a master certified Glass tech for 30 years and certified Tesla Glass tech for 5 year. You got it done but damn you made it look hard. That baby sawzall is a joke.
