      You're welcome Priscilla 😊 I'm glad you enjoyed it. Please add a pinch of black salt the next time you make it. It makes it taste even eggier (made up word). I left it out because I'm not a fan of the sulphuric smell. It dissipates eventually though. Thank you.

  • @GarouLady
    @GarouLady ปีที่แล้ว +50

    You can also add what is called black salt. It's a salt with a sulfuric egg taste that is used by vegans and non egg eaters to give other products an egg taste.

    • @Grubanny
      @Grubanny  ปีที่แล้ว +15

      Thanks for your feedback. Yup, I intentionally left kala namak out of this recpe, as a lot of people don't like the smell. However, I used it in my Chickpea omelette video. Thanks again.

      GarouLady I recently thought of chick pea scrambled eggs using black salt. It was said that black salt adds that sulfer taste of an egg. Came here to get the recipe. Within the last few years I started using chickpea flour to make gravy delicious

      @RestWithin Don't forget, timely and accurate cuts, transitions, color correction, LUTs, color grading, voice over, noise removal, lighting (foreground, background, and practical lights), cameras, video editing skills, good microphones, calibrated monitor, good headphones or speakers, electricity, time, skill, video scripting and planning, internet, ingredients, recipe creation, video shoot (including thousands of scenes and re-takes), voice over scripting, thumbnail creation, video upload and search engine optimization, so on and so forth. These are a few of the things TH-camrs do to create seconds, minutes, or hours of videos you watch on a daily basis. It takes days, weeks, or even months to come up with a video. A lot of processes too. I enjoy it, so I'm not complaining. I just felt I should put this out there so no one else would have a myopic perspective of what goes into video making. Whew... I'm done.

    Thank you. Thank you, thank you, thank you 👏👏👏
    Absolutely delicious. And so much easier than the recipes where you have to set it in the freezer halfway through!
    I fried off some chopped onion and mushroom first, then added the batter and let it set a bit, turned it over, cooked it a bit more, then broke it up and finished it off.
    I did add a 1/4 tsp of black salt, but I don’t know how much it added lol. The flavours of the spices and herbs just worked perfectly.
    We had this on toast just now, first time ever trying it, and now we’re enjoying the delicious aftertaste and planning how we can use it in other ways. So far we have this + vegan ham strips as Christmas Day breakfast, and scrambled egg with vegan bacon and ketchup in a roll. Inspirational. My teenage daughter loved it too.
    Thanks again. Great video. So glad I tried it! Will watch more of your videos…

    Almost to the end of cooking sprinkle a little bit of indian black salt, it will give it an egg like smell/taste. Nature really did think of everything. We really don't need to take from animals

    • @Grubanny
      @Grubanny  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      You're correct. I added black salt to my other omelette recipes. It has a strong Sulphuric smell, but it's delicious. Yes, mother nature provides all we need. We just have to stop for a minute and listen.

      Yup, those pans are indeed expensive! Obviously, use some oil. Also, if you're using a gas stove, keep the heat low. High heat will make it stick. Also, let it sit and cook through. The pan will release it when it's properly cooked, then you can flip it.

    Was it one cup or two cups of chick pea flour?

    • @Grubanny
      @Grubanny  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      One cup. Those scoops were half a cup each.

    Have tried and it tasted amazing. We like it so much. I added some curry powder n nutritional yeast which made it more delicious. But it became harder when getting cool. Would you give some guidances to keep it soft even it is cool down? Thank a lot

      Hi, add more liquid; either water, aquafaba, or veggie broth when making the batter. Cook at a slightly lower temperature. Let it cook through, but don't let it dry up all the way like mine did. I like mine a little on the dryer side. I hope this helps. Thank you Marina 😊

    You mentioned you used 1 cup of flour but it looks like you actually used two, is this accurate?

    What is black salt?

    • @Grubanny
      @Grubanny  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Black salt a type of rock salt that's been further processed in a kiln. I rarely use it because I can't stand the pungent sulphuric smell. You can add it to your Chickpea scramble or omelette to get that eggy flavor/smell. I left it out of this recipe, but I added it to my older Chickpea Omelette recipe.

    Adding black salt will give it the sulphur taste that eggs have.

    Grape seed oil is bad. Any seed oil is bad. Learned the hard way, now I use avocado oil. I will definitely give this recipe a try. Looks good

      Yes it does. I intentionally left it out. I'm not a fan of the sulphuric smell. I used it in my omelet recipe though.
