I love my surface laptop studio. I’m a light gamer and mostly use it for web browsing and some words processing and I love it. Did get it to review thus why I have it. I have the $2,100 model as well and the 3050 ti is great for me.
How will this compare to the similarly priced M1 Pro Macbook announced today, in terms of performance? If we compare, say, the $2699 models of each device?
In terms of performance there is no doubt the m1 pro will lick the surface but...i´m still getting the Surface without a doubt. Surface devices are never the best at performance, after all if you want max performace just get a razer blade. The Surface Laptop Studio is about versatility, touch, pen, and the various modes with a side of gaming. For photographers (like me), designers, engineers, arquitects, artists, the Surface is far more usefull. Now if you just edit video or data crunch then the Macbook is the better device.
@@Dare2Blink That's a great way to put it. Macbooks are powerhouses, but they refuse to modernize their laptop lineup by adding touch and pen support. It really drives many creative types away, including myself. I would love to have SLS type device with M1 Max performance, unfortunately that device doesn't exist right now. Not that SLS has bad perfomance either, the GPU is similar to M1 Pro GPU. CPU let's a lot to be desired, but CPU hasn't been a bottleneck to me in a long time. Heck, I had i7 4770K for 7 years in my desktop and it was still doing the job just fine for my use. 🤷🏻♂️
Who cares? No one cares about chip sets which is why consumers AND businesses keep their computing devices for 5 to 7 years. What matters is hardware and M1 MB Pro doesn't have a touch screen, pen support, adjustable hinge, etc. And let's not forget all the class-action lawwsuits in just the past 6 years: keyboard thermal thorttling green screen connectivity cracked screens (2021)
what's the better buy Surface 8 or Studio? next question will the surface work with Apple Pro Display XDR? Now that Apple announced the new MacBook Pro which is the better buy?
