I'm quite torn about the Surface L. S. because I really want to replace my iPad Pro, eventually with a Surface Laptop Studio but only if there is a chance that a better AMD, ARM or GTX3060+ variant will soon come out. It's just somewhat disappointing there is only Intel and up to an 3050ti as an option. It most likely be more expensive, but that is one of the reasons I "invest" in the highest spec options so as last longer and less want to replace it cycle.
Why are they still limiting the device to 4-core CPUs? That was the major drawback of the Surface Book series since the CPU is behind the this screen. That should no longer be an issue here. We need 6 and 8 core options to really be able to game on this.
I’m beginning to wonder if MS doesn’t want to really provide a real gaming capable Surface device, so as not to compete with their games as a service - Xbox game pass. Showing game streaming on pcs is pointless, it doesn’t show what it’s natively capable of. MS can say that Surface devices are not intended for gaming first and foremost, but let’s not kid ourselves, gaming is a massive part of general computing simply because of the entertainment aspect of it. If gaming can pay such a huge “unspoken” selling part when it comes to mobile phones, it definitely is when it comes to PCs.
@@bdsams What the heck are you doing running Warzone at 2400x1600 on a 14 inch screen? Have you ever PC gamed in your life? You didn't even turn on DLSS, Which is a massive boost with these Ampere 3000s Nvidia cards.
Can you compare the gaming experience with a proper gaming desktop with RTX 3090 GPU. Love to see how many frames per second you get at max graphics settings on each system and temperatures.
It says call of duty isn’t on the PC xbox game pass list? So how did you manage to download this game / play it. Either MW2 & Warzone. Also i have an xbox one and have Mw2 downloaded on the xbox, can that transfer to my Studio laptop?
Does the screen actually run at 120hz when gaming on a game that reaches that high? My understanding is the DRR only applies to specific Window apps / inking
So this should be able to run StarCraft 2 and the original Crysis? Those are the sort of games I play in PC, have an Xbox Series X for everything else.
@fllg11 hey so I still love mine. When you game on it the battery obviously dies quite quickly but tbh I normally have it plugged into my charger anyways. But I still love it. Day to day normal work you should be ok with the battery depending on when power options you choose.
@@JohnP.6775 thank you. What about theramls and fan noise? Does it get hot during some tasks? I will use it for photoshop and blender do you think it will be good at handeling theses programs? And during just normal use (youtube, web browsing...etc) how much battery life should i expect?
@fllg11 yeah it does get pretty loud if you're doing tasks that require a lot of proformance and it's a little hot sometimes but it's more than capable of doing photoshop that's another thing i use mine for. During normal tasks tbh not sure probably atleast 5-6 hours I don't actually use it much without it getting pluged in as I use my doc allot with my setup.
I don’t care for games as a service, I want to play games on the machine and through the machine , that is Internet independent, I can play anywhere anytime without relying on internet. Keep playing, NOT keep paying. - games as goods>>>games as a service. The whole argument of “it would allow me to play games I’ve never played before” or “dad maybe interested in games now” is bumpkins when everyone and their grandma have a dozen devices, cheap consoles and mobiles that can play heaps of games. MS is really pushing hard to sell services.
If you go into the graphics settings by pressing windows key+s type graphic, you can change the performance which will help a lot, switch it to maximum performance on the app, there's two ways one select from desktop app or adding it, should improve it quite a bit.
Drop the resolution of the game to 1200x800 so pixel mapping is 1:2 (exactly half the native res. of the screen), crank-up the visual settings, and enjoy 120 FPS . 1200x800 res. on the 14.4" screen isn't as bad as you might imagine. Just try it!
It can game better then series S Just watch out for its vram... Edit: this must be the most low powered 3050ti. Just in case, you are playing while plugged in right?
Considering he's playing at the native resolution of 1600p at 3:2 aspect ratio, no wonder why the frame rate is low. Dropping it to 1080p is probably best for a GPU like this. According to Microsoft mechanics video the GPU does maximum of 50W, but God knows.

The newest best Laptop plays at 30fps . Why did you even make a video promoting this ? Who really plays on a laptop? It heats up after 10 minutes and cloud gaming is not ready yet . Enjoyed this, what performance were you getting if you dropped the settings to something more realistic?
you can easily get another 7-10 fps at higher resolutions without killing the quality...if you dont care about shadows and details, sky is the limit.

that's my understanding as well. i don't think MS is using the Freesync or GSync standards, so games probably won't be able to benefit from it.
I have a question does laptop studio lags when your playing games on game pass o I doesn’t ? Because I’m think of getting this laptop studio
I know im late to asking this, but do you know by any chance if it can run planet zoo? And if so at what settings and about how many frames?
What were the specs of this surface laptop studio?
Can you play warzone or battlefield 2042 on it
