When they released clone wars on Disney+ they had Tim Curry dubbed over by Witwer so you won’t hear him anymore except for like literally one word they missed
honestly all of these actors did a great job. mcdiarmid is the definitive palpatine but abercrombie is the runner up in my opinion. he made the role his own with such excellent voice performances. and tim curry is a legend in his own right, so his performance of palpatine was fucking great too

Tim Curry is in my opinion the greatest Sidious voice. His Palpatine was not that great, but he sounds the most evil and demonic as Sidious out of all the voices. McDiarmid is obviously the goat for both, but I much prefer his ROTJ (and TROS) voice to his ROTS voice. Clive Revill is a great Sidious as well (though he obviously sounds nothing like the rest). I like to imagine that this is the voice Palpatine uses to speak to the public. Sam Witwer is great too, but he can really only do an impression of ROTJ McDiarmid Sidious. So, in my ideal world, Tim Curry is the prequel voice of Sidious, McDiarmid the OT voice of him, while Revill is "fake" public image Emperor that doesn't sound as evil. Abercrombie would be a good Chancellor Palpatine voice as well.
@@Amp661 I would say that all of the actors are going to be performing based on Ian's portrayal of the character, since he was the first. I was actually blown away by how good the Starkiller actor's impression was. Tim Curry is a delight most roles (in both VO and live-action) but here it sounds like he's really struggling to match the previous iterations of the character.
