Just stumbled upon this film after so many years. I was there in the crowd at 22 - first time I had seen the stones. Absolutely superb, I have such good memories of that day. They are so cool, best rockers ever.
I love this song 🎵 ❤️, Mick and the boys always take their music 🎶 🎵 and their performing to the next level 🎉🎉. There is nothing like that anymore. 62yrs is enough said 🎉🎉
you gotta love bill and charlie,,,, lol..... they are so cool and so laid back as if they are bored and unimpressed, which is not the case, but it looks that way, always loved how they carry and present themselves, while mick, ron, and keith are going crazy, like a yin and yang. lol. i love me some stones!!!
Great Scott, so uptempo from the studio version. And I've heard bands get hyped/excited and play at higher tempos. But this is so really REALLY incredibly uptempo. Gotta be all the adrenaline/cocaine/nicotine. Seriously, listen to the studio version right after this and compare. Thumbs up though, they were so zoned in that they all kept up, these guys have raw energy. Mick is a rock'n'roll dancin machine, with the energy of a gazelle, amazing frontman. His vocal style is so "I don't care I'm singing how I want" because "I don't need no fancy shit just my voice and my rock'n'roll soul". Keith is a pure rockstar to the bone. His DNA isn't made of As, Ts, Cs, and Gs. His DNA is R O C K N R O L L, from beginning to end. Like Robert Plant and Jimmy Page pre-Zeppelin breakup, and Jim Morrison, and others but I'm done rambling.
As my brother said to me when I sent him this video - 'Charlie Watts looks so calm and erudite in the first glimpse of him in the video. Looks like a professor enjoyig an English tea on the drums'
I walked it from where I lived (Cross Gates) Sat on the very first of the concrete benches near the cricket pavilion, next to the VIP seats. I thought George Thorougood and the destroyers were pretty good, but the J Geils Band were rubbish.
I grew up loving The Beatles & The Rolling Stones when I was in 4th grade duringthe1960's. . I saw the Stones for the first time at MSG in 1975 .I got the tkts for my 16th birthday. Don't do the math - LOL! 🤡 I saw The X Pensive Winos on 12/18/88 on Keith's birthday, The last and final time in 89 @ Shea. I'm Old LOL 👿 🎸
The first time I saw the Stones,I said this is the real thing..Then they came to America.. Played the Altamonte Speedway for free..Hang on to your guitar Kieth,I think this Rock & Roll thing ,is paying off!
Am I correct in thinking that Bill Wyman is not just the coolest Rolling Stone, but the coolest person ever on planet earth??? And plays a mean bass too?
The Rolling Stones arrebatan al público viéndolos cantar en vivo "Shattered", toda una catarata de estribillos agresivos en la ronca y áspera garganta de Mick Jagger, con la misma garra del tema en acetato.
Thanks for this hi def remastered version of the 1981 tour. Do you have anything from Kemper Arena circa 1981-82? I was in the audience at the time blowing huge flames out of my mouth with a butane refill canister. Jagger pointed all the stage lights at me for awhile and I pretended not to notice. just to shock Jagger. Jagger was very insulted and stared at me for awhile while about 20 cops surrounded me debating arrests :). Thankfully it worked out and Mick Jagger did not have me arrested :)
Ronnie Wood played the bass on the album version of this song. Which was always one of my favorites off of some of the some girls album. However Bill Wyman who I now considered to be the best musician in the band did not like or copy Ronnie Wood's version. You came up with his own Baseline
That tour I save money to go and see them at El Paso Texas but they canceled that date I was willing to travel from my home town Xalapa in Veracruz state in Mexico, but unfortunately it didn’t happen, on a second thought Bill wyman always look like he is walking in the park when he’s playing but never missing a note or a beat, he describe it perfectly Keith is watching mick, Charlie is watching Keith and bill is really not watching anybody but I’m sure he was listening because they sound tight , I miss bill wyman.also I noticed that he is playing a Steimberger bass, which I happen to have and play later on my own musical carrier , I bought a with one in 1990. 😱🤷🏼♂️🕺🏿
Love this song! Love the Dtones! Is there a. Decent live version available anywhere! This island many other versions are very disappointing ! No! I cannot do better!
Per un momento pensavo che fosse in Italia perché all'inizio pensavo che dicesse:"CIAOH!!!"oppure"AH CIAOHHH!!!" Alla fine ho riletto per bene il titolo del video
The groove of this song is gone at this speed... still cool, but can't help if Mick is the reason they're playing it this fast, he sure doesn't have to sing it as well at this speed.
Bill Wyman always looks like he's having such a great time.
I don't think he knows he's there.
That’s why they called him the mannequin man
Apparently he was always checking out the girls for “ after “
Really?? , Did he make a porn?
He needed to be still so that he could focus on grooming young girls in the audience whom he could take backstage after the show.

What a great city Leeds is ❤
Stones on blow in the 80's. Saw them in L.A in 82 for the summer blowout ! Amazing band ~
How did John McEnroe find time to sing with Stones and play all that tennis? The man was a real bundle of energy!

Possibly the fastest phase of any performance live ever.

Love how Bill was captured wondering WTF the bridge would happen.
I was in the front as slept out overnight & ran to the best spots...In hindsight, Joe Jackson impressed me the most.
I walked it from where I lived (Cross Gates) Sat on the very first of the concrete benches near the cricket pavilion, next to the VIP seats. I thought George Thorougood and the destroyers were pretty good, but the J Geils Band were rubbish.
Cocratered and smattered. Stones in the early 80s. But we still loved them then as now.
The amount of distortion in this video is insane. Love it though!
I remember hearing this from my bedroom window. \\^^//
Love the Coke version Stones
I think they just want to get backstage asap to the coke again lol
@@tributeborn6036 I understand
Me too! Keith kicked junk but not coke. Even Wyman's jaws were clinched tight.
Charlie Watts, Forever Loved, Forever Missed, Forever Remembered ❤❤

Micks voice is exceptional here.
1:05 - should be on Mount Rushmore for rock stars.

The camerawork and sound in this video is superior. (The Stones aren't too bad themselves!)
Wrong. The camera work sucks.
I caught the American leg of this tour in '81. Stones have gotten better.

ROLLING STONES
El Rock-roll fué, es,y por el resto de su existencia seguirá siendo Inglés.
El resto son burdas y torreja imitaciones.
The coolist cigarette smoking guitar god in history...KEEF!
Mick looks like he just finished filming an aerobics video and then hit the stage right after
😄😄😄😄

The Strolling Bones, still stinking up the stage after all these years.
love those yellow teeth and cigarettes.
My fave song by the Stones but this not my favorite version for sure!!!!!!!
Like a rolling stone
Regios!!!
Just showed by 18 year old this video. She laments not being born in this era! LOL.
This is Shattered on acid. Charlie Watts needs a click track to play to.
Charlie / The Stones need no such thing! What are you talking about??!!! This is brilliant
Well, there goes everything bad they ever said about smoking.
Ronnie gettin' down on it. Nice to see Birdy there.
Bass players struggle:
Looking around saying slow the fuck down.
Does Wyman have a,pulse? Anyone know?
Great Keith Richards
I can see Chuck Level there on!

morgan freeman en saxo?!!
Mick was always dressed well from the 60s all the way through the 70s. I don't know what the heck happened in the 80s though
Who were the two old ladies sharing the mic with the black wigs (2:50)??😂
Those cigarettes are preserving those guys🤣😂😂🤣
does anybody know where to find those goggle/shades woody's wearing?
The groove of this song is gone at this speed... still cool, but can't help if Mick is the reason they're playing it this fast, he sure doesn't have to sing it as well at this speed.
Mark Waters No
They can do no wrong look at the view count on this song lol
I agree though personally I like the album version better
One word for the tempo change - cocaine!!!!
