    Good work ..
I was hoping to see how does this camera deal with the { Sea hazeness }, when the sun is normal, i.e mid-day ..

Where did you get the square hood? Looks great.

forgot to mention it! it's by haoge, is metal, and seemingly works great? (can't promise as well as the original but it's way smaller and metal.) smile.amazon.com/Haoge-LH-G65-Bayonet-Fujifilm-Fujinon/dp/B083S16R1V?sa-no-redirect=1

Really great video - your audio quality is perfect and the way you speak goes a long way to creating a very chill atmosphere. I appreciate that you are not shouting at the viewer about what product to buy - more like chatting with a friend when they ask how your trip went. One question - what is it about the GFX system that makes the size/cost worth it to you vs something from the x-series cameras or similar?

thanks, really appreciate kind comments like yours - make me want to make more of these :) I'm not a loud person and am incapable of doing the excited youtube thing lol.
I'd recommend downloading some RAWs. Really, that's the difference - the files. I have an XT4 as well with the 33/1.4. The files are respectable, but not immediately impressive. On the GFX - including the more affordable 50 bodies (wish I had waited a year for the 100s, but oh well) - the files are immediately tack sharp with sooo much dynamic range. It's honestly just fun working with them, and there's a very "transparent" feel - the world as it is, in a photo - amusingly I don't do much editing other than white balance, black and white point, recover shadows/highlights - less editing than with any other digital camera. I feel like the detail of the files kind of does the work for you, and you can be more subtle in your processing, like a large format photographer? I also like to print big.
also, the lenses are just so good. every single one is near-perfect, even the $500 "pancake" 50. some of the X lenses feel a little dated to me (my wife has a 23/2 that's fine at f/4-5.6 but honestly not very good at f/2). I think when they finish updating the OG lenses, it'll be much more compelling.

@@atomikpi Hey man thanks so much for the detailed response. It's nice to connect with creators like yourself and not feel that youtube is a one-way street of consuming media.
I get what you're saying about the files and think I've made up my mind to try for myself. I currenly shoot with the Sony A7rii which should theoretically have flawless image quality but I always find myself wrestling with the files during post-processing to recreate the colors/mood that I felt and saw.
I have a feeling that the GFX100s will soon have a 50 megapixel little brother so I'll hang tight for now. I look forward to seeing the GF lens lineup grow - especially a 28mm equivalent pancake and a wide angle zoom. Meanwhile, keep up the great work and I look forward to keeping up with your videos!

@@griessman76 Cheers! yeah I think you'll love the GFX series. I actually shot with an a7r II before my 50s and also struggled with the files - scientifically excellent but didn't "resonate emotionally" or whatever. So a 50 MP GFX with IS should be a great option, and Fuji is trying really hard to bring down MF prices.

cheers friend. this is like my 10th video and I'm making these at a positively glacial pace haha. one day maybe, but I find making things more enjoyable if I focus on enjoying the process and not the rewards :)
